Am I the only one laughing about Plated Leather Boots going for 22+ million adena across the board? One new race and every flavor of said race wears light armor.
/facepalm
Granted, I don't have a Kamael nor do any of my toons wear light armor. I just think it's absolutely amazing how fast and how far some prices can spike.
Nah people went into overdrive for light armors when it was known that kamael can only wear them, people went into overdrive for 2hand swords, 1hand swords, and bows when it was known that kamael uses these, when enough kamael are 60+ the prices will go down
We can all thank the new race for making everything more expensive for the next 6 months. However my little Artisan is loving the new prices for D and C grade items.
I remember when PL Boots used to sell for 6M -- and we thought THAT was high.
22M is pretty bad, but I've used a PL Set on two archers until A grade, and for my SK, BD, AW, WK, EE, SE, PS, and PP at C grade. You get your adena's worth.
PL boots were always in demand due to their awesome set bonus. Add in the fact the parts are something 1/500 drop rate except for the group mobs on ally island.(hard for the average player to farm.)
Add in the new race that can only wear light armor and loooovvvess +str and what do you get? Huge demand increase wheres there is already low supply.
I saw not long ago on Devianne that they where priced to 35 million, but yesterday i ran across a pair for 15 million. That has been the price for a long time.

Not always mate! There was a time when nobody wanted plated leather because you didn't get bonus patk over 40STR and the pdef was way too low compared to theca or drake. I believe that was a C1 change? Correct me if I'm wrong about that.
Back then I got my PL set for less than 2M.. guess what the boots cost me?!
The reason i wanted it back then was because it had a demon robe texture. I got it, then the set bonus came out and i was a very happy chappy. Since then, +STR has had more benefits added to it.
Funny thing.. I just checked the unmentionable but highly resourceful site, and there doesnt appear to be any Plated Leather Boots material at all. No drops or spoils.
But there is a Recipe for the boots. Just like for Demon Boots...

That's because the parts are called PLATE leather boot lining.

Perhaps because they are called Plate Leather boot linings and not Plated?
Thats odd, I have bought like 3 Plated leather sets on lionna for 20 mil(for the ENTIRE set including Gloves). Its nice because they resell to the less patient buyer for almost twice that.
I was selling plated leather boots for 20 mil before the Kamael came out on Lionna, so it wasn't just the Kamael that wanted them. The parts are a pain to get, the best drop rate is a group monster that's a pain in the butt to kill. And there's no spoil for it. B grade is also expensive as hell now since in most cases the key items drop from a single monster, which is often a 1/2 hp mob with an outrageous drop rate or a 65+ monster deep in a high level dungeon (ToI, DVC). This has resulted in top b-grade helmet prices escalating from 10 to nearly 20 mil. Meanwhile things that are available entirely from quests or readily available as spoils, such as a grade weapons are plummeting in price. You can now get a soul bow for about the same price as a BoP w/CS. Wizard's tears sell for only 10 mil less than SoMs. Swords of damascus sell for way more than a DLE. S-grade weapons who's parts and recs are so readily available sell for about the same as the Sword of Damascus.
The b-grade spoil/drop tables are jacked. The b-grade quests are jacked (it takes less effort to get an a-grade rec that you can pick from the coin quest than it takes to get a random b-grade 60% from pavel ruins). The top A recs are jacked (still noone hunting Primevil isle, crap drops and aweful xp). You get the feeling that NCSoft really didn't think things through.
But noone does, because the xp rate is atrociously bad for the difficulty. Tanor Canyon and Skyshadow Meadow are both more dangerous and less xp than AoEing in a catacomb, pavel ruins, or frozen labyrinth. Its still ridiculous that the only place some things drop are among these abandoned and empty 1/2 hp mob fields.

I'll need to lookup Demo Boot lining too then.

Demon boot linings drop off of the Demon that you get from the wishing potion quest.

Easiest to get the Demon Boots via the Coin Quest. It' s one of the rewards, but I forget which level.
I got my plated leather set months ago, just cause it looked cool on my male Dark Elf wizard. I thought 7 mil for the boots was crazy. Now the entire set is in my wharehouse gathering dust.
I hunted those group mobs from lvl 44 to lvl 50 (they are dark blue then).
In the end I had gotten:
Enough materials to craft 1 pair of plated leather boots.
2 Plated leather boots fulldrop
and 4-5 other types of boots in fulldrop.
If you have a lvl 40 ish warlord, its actually more efficient to train snipe groups in Cruma for them, they are easier to kill. The drop rate is a little worse, but they are easier to kill.
Also, see the suggestion forum, this isnt a llama, its a Wyrven.
