When purchasing upgrades or even building a new PC I do not go for the hottest newest cutting edge stuff. Price wise it’s just not a good deal. Sometimes you pay double the price for just a few notches in speed. Also if you get something too old your may lose out if for just a few dollars more you can get almost double the speed of the cheaper one. Also I have to consider if it can be upgraded. So when buying I always try to figure out where the sweet spot is, where I am getting the most for my dollar.
My wolf will be a Black Wolf soon and I am looking at the horribly expensive armor. I am curious if there is a sweet spot. Like I will not be able to afford the 96mil dollar armor, but I could deal with six mil, maybe even the 15 mil area. I just don’t know how much of a difference the P.Atk will make, or the P.Def will make. I am not so good with calculations and hit chance and all that stuff in this game. Me Orc, me hit, you die. That’s about as much as I know at this point, especially after being gone so long. I’ve forgotten a lot of the stats.
Anyway not sure if I need to invest more in armor or more in weapon, or keep them even or what. Also I know that currently you can’t get Black Wolf gear by exchanging your regular wolf gear, but if I buy Black Wolf gear will I be able to upgrade that?

It depends what you want to do with your black wolf.
You could still lvl him without equip, but then he dont have much use and is expensive foodwise.
Without equip he will be almost the same your wolf was before the evloving.
If you want a great helper that lvls your char and not you him buy him best equip. I know its expensive and even me took some time till i saved/gained that money of spoils and crafts but it worth every penny. Beside that look what S grade weapons cost, the wolf with top equip is equal or better then an melee S grade weapon.
Remember u get that extra Patk at lvl 55 already.
Since i bought top equip of the shop i dont know if you can upgare the black wolf equipment. If its upgradeable expect that to be expensive and maybe you will need higher gemstones then B grade. If you need A and S gemstones to upgrade to top it might be a lot cheaper to buy top equip direct from the NPC.
As for the Question go for armor or weapon. If you get good armor the great wolf will die less and take a lot more hits then the wolf did and the Mdef is better too.
A good weapon wont be much help if your wolf has crappy armor and he gets agro because of the high patk.
If you can keep hate because you play a tank it might be different.
At the moment i use my wolf with my prophet inside apostate.
The wolf is using:
Enchanted Cerberus Fang (413 P attack) Upgraded lowest i think 4 times cant remember atm ^^ it was approx 30m worth to upgrade the lowest weapon.
Great wolf Bronze armor *lowest
With prophet buffs Might 3, Zerk 2 my pet comes out with 1326 p attack, and with shield 3 a pdef of 365 if i remember correctly which is good enough for my prophet to be able to take an 8 mob room only healing and buffing the wolf not attacking; that is of course with pet shots.
However if your using this wolf for extra dd on a higher level character say a tank or such do not upgrade the weapon that much if any as the pet will begin to pull agro and the p def on the pet isnt capable of taking large quantities of hits from high level mobs.
just get the wolf to lvl 55 and go talk to any pet manager one of the items will be to evolve the wolf to his next stage, cant remember what the pet manager says. I did it at lvl 55 and didnt loose any exp
