Why Anti-New Players? My Rant.

Hello,

I want to know why L2 would put in a level cap between toons in a group, also known as the 20 level diffrence limit? Then in the next turn offer us free months for bringing new people into the game, when you won't be able to group with them for months if not years?

We all know XPing in this game is brutal and you spend Hours and Hours of your time and in some cases Years to reach higher levels. Why would a new player stay in this game when he could not play with his friend that just invited him? What is a good motivation for them to stay the 1+ years you would need to reach some of the higher levels to even begin to xp party with your friend.

I believe LineageII made a HUGE misstep when adding the 20 level diffrence limit. They may have added it to stop powerleveling toons, but I ask what is wrong with the older players powerleveling new players so that they reach the same levels as their friends faster? What is Lineage 2 issue with gaining XP at fast rates?

I have been here a long time and everytime we as players find a half decent xp rate such as example AOE they hit it with a nerf bat? Why will you not give us an event that allows for a few days to get X2 xp/sp/drops. WHY? This is a hard core game no doubt, but as this game gets older I feel the lack of speed at which you level in the lower levels does not keep pace with the age of the game and the lack of new players coming in and not wanting to spend 3+ years to reach top levels.

I want to know how long it took someone to get from 1 - 76, with out taking short cuts, or using one of those nice xp advantages before they nurfed it.

Thats my rant, I had to say it.

Remember JUST SAY NO TO INCREASE LEVEL CAP!!!
Here is an idea... If they are in the academy of the person who invited them, only their sponser can XP grind with them. Only when these two characters are alone in a group will the 20 level limitation not be applied. That should slove this issue and allow those that invite their friends to play together.
Tip: Out of party buffers will never get the nerf-stick.

Level 78 buffer, Rift ASAP, levels = cake :P
look its not hard. you want to party with your new clannies like i do, then simpley roll a new toon and party with them. depends on whats realy important to you, your clan members , or your grind to become Hero or whatever.

i personally have put off lvling my main toons for quite a while now while helping out the new members of my clan.

does it weaken the clan to do this? no it actually builds unity.
it is important for your clannies to know each other and how to work as a team. in the absence of being able to take them along with the high lvls to see how its done (and for xp) this is the next best option.

do i regret it? hellz no! i am having a blast with the newbie buffs and partying with my clannies. its also a good way to share your game knowledge with them in the differant situations they face as noobs. its called leading by example not only is it easy, its also fun. if you all die in the lowwer lvls then its funny and you can all laugh about it, click go to town and get fresh newbie buffs. It is my hope that helping them now will make them want to keep helping each other later on. also it wont take long befor they are at the lvl they can party with my main. its more like a fun vacation than it is a sacrifice. :D

if this isnt something you can do, then just do the best you can. we were all noobs at some point so im sure they will understand.
Excellent post Deathsfriend, if more of us thought this way the world of Lineage would be a much better place and the in-game populations would be thriving.
Sorry Balis: /disagrees.

Adding lvl gap is both good and bad.

those that have a higher lvl gap get alot stronger, not only new skills, but don't forget they have the added bonus increased status.

Adding the lvl gap makes the game stay continue to flourish, once you hit 80 every thing becomes stagnant, and there is no room for your chr to grow; with out subing other classes to lvl them.

While adding the 20 lvl difference was a bonus to the game, it forces players to lvl with people with in their range, and removes those that fell behind.

while I can agree with deathsfriend. who I think has some points. Think about it, if you make a lvl 1-52 WL you can get those new players to B grade in no time, you support your clan with 800 rep points between the two of you, helping it to grow with more members.
20 level gaps and general nerf to AoE was put in place to stop powerleveling farmers.

Big boom/AoE could level people to 60 in a day.(Killed pre C5)
Frenzy/Pole could level people and their SUB to 78/78 in a few days.(Killed just recently)

It was one of the few reasons banning bots didn't do much. New account/characters were back in a week. Also one of the reason seasoned alliances maintained power and membership. Ridiculously fast exp.

I agree the change only makes it harder for your average player to "catch-up". I've made giant post about how every chronicle NC loves to make it slighty harder to level. But I'll pass this time.

Yeah, excluding people from having fun based on their level was a super great idea (SARCASM) :/ I mean look at it this way, you were still completely free to snub them and throw them out of clan before this 20 level limit weren't you? So seriously wth.
Well now with the age old party your clan saying to an Overlord how can i when most in clan is academy or 1 that is lvl 70 destroyer. I'm forced to play alts to help the new players catch up to where i can play my Overlord with clan which in turn slows me down from keeping pace with those in clan my lvl to party.

I agree with deathsfriend though and i don't regret my choice to make the low lvl alts cuz i've wound up soloing more than i care to since chronicle 2 on this game cuz of those oop's alot of people don't party anymore so lvling goes actually slower and in a cata/necro it is a pain in the butt to solo in there and more so with 35 skills at 31 and in cheapest ng gear on a asassin before death penalty where when you went red from a bot kill you would lose all gear.

LOL if this encouraged people to party together it did no such thing i doubt it even put a mark on it since you can't even hardly get anyone to do a raid at lvl 52 these days.

Powerleveling= smart and fast. Powerleveling using toons 20+ levels or higher than who you want to powerlevel = not so smart and very slow till the gap is closed (and thats usually when the char is within 15 lvs of the core of the group btw). Your arguement there alone is mute....plus to add ontop of that most paid powerlevelers already have several pling groups ready to go, in various level ranges. The latest nerf did nothing to hinder them, unless they have been banned (I have not been out hunting since c5, so no clue on how ncsoft is handling that anymore). The nerfs were a nice thought, but theres work around long inplace to counter their measures.
just send them my way Eamonn ill party them :)

(ill have to catch up to you later on my Bishop though hehe :D )
This thing of have fun lvling with toons 20 lvl more than yours is utopic, why? u can do nothing to mobs 20 times higher than you and the xp before the gap was ridiculous in this case. All the newbies can do is watch and, waste time missing hits. We need to encourage newbies to lvl together. or do as deathsfriend say, roll a new toon and help the newcommers.

Depends on class. Accuracy buffs and it should definitely be possible to hit ~75% of the time. A dagger would be a bad choice though :p
Accuracy buffs wont help on the high lvl mobs. If classes close in lvls with them miss even with accuracy toggle on, someone 20lvls lower wont even hit once.

Go try hit Varka Mediums on a 50ish toon, using sword, dagger or bow since those are the most common weapons.
How about you go to a clan manager npc with your sponseree and request a temp level change to match the level and % of your sponseree(must be together) and you too are bound in group till one logs off, leave the party, or cancels it by a clan manager npc then the sponseree returns to original level. and maybe make it so your passives, skills are limited at your level and you can't use your other skills/passives untill you revert back to your level.

That would be a nice change

Just.. wow. Too tired to analyze it, but wow :p.

P.S. wow as in "surprise sound" not the game..
deathsfriend will do i'll send my academy members to the inter clan partys when they get active again, but not sure who stayed playing since they put this stupid penalty in game to break up clans and alliances .

At least that is what it feels like and smells like to an orc :) cuz it only hurts the comraderie and close teamwork and now with this stupid thing whose gonna come and guard the beer :( noone since they not getting exp or anything as payment

Hello.

You can reach 61 within a month with almost any char if you're being lazy and have no wars. At 61 you can party with any higher lvl in the game ( well untill CT1.5 ).
Well it sure took you a long time to convince your friend to start playing the game... I happen to agree with the policy.. the clans power leveling toons to 40 just to recieve reputation points was out of control.. It also stops people from power leveling toons that get banned and start new accts... If you have been in game that long you should be real close to starting a sub class .. Surely that toon can reach 40 by then... And if your not close to starting sub class a new toon can reach lvls close enough to party with you within a few weeks... I guess they should meet some people on the server that are new just like them for parties..or people rerolling or starting new support charactors .. Is your acct full? If not start a spoiler... there are never enough of them on a server... Part of playing this game is leveling your own toon up.. not having someone else do it for you..

Not if you are newbie.
Not if you are on hollidays or whatever.
Not if you havent got a buffer (and newbies usually don't).
Not if you havent got a decent clan to party with (with support in good exp places).
Not if you dont know game mechanics, best EXP places yet and still have to work hard for equipment.

61 in a month is unrealistic for anybody who doesn't already have a stockpile of adena/gear and OOP buffers available. If you can borrow that form someone or you have it yourself, certainly would be possible
Every week someone starts a thread which no matter what is the official ttitle actualy says just one thing "I want to start at lvl 75 and 500kk in my WH! Why NCSoft doesn't give this to me!"
I only read the first post. Are you serious?

This game has gotten so much easier than when it first came out. Gear is easier to get because it is not in really high demand, experience rates have gone up, leveling spots have gotten better... just to name a few things. When I came through you didn't get A grade at 61, you were lucky to get it at 75, and you could spend all day playing at 74 (8 hours) and only make 2-3%.

Maybe they didn't make it so someone who is a year behind can't catch up in a couple months, but they CAN catch up, and it is easier than it has ever been before.

In response to your level gap thing... that was put in because characters could be powerleveled. My boxed 52 BD would get more experience just standing in party dancing with my 78 Muse, than she would if I gave her full buffs and soloed (78 SE and Prophet buffs, by the way). And that was AFTER they put in the 20 level gap, so figure that out.
I like the limitation.

When I log on I want a level 70+ party ASAP. When I find out the only party is full and it has level 50ish toons swinging at the wind, I am ******!! When I finally get in the party, and I am sharing S and A grade drops with a level 50 toon, I am even more ******.
