So here's the deal, I've just joined Bartz, and i am suddenly being told that there are all these rules about drops in raids, and i have never heard of them. I've played on, Lionna, Erica, and Hidemith, and I have NEVER ONCE been asked to give a drop up, or bid on it, or split it. Now that im on bartz, im starting to think its the server. so i decided to come to the forums in general discussion to get Every server's opinion.
I. Do you believe there are rules to raid group drops?
A. What do you do if you get a drop that is something like, 20 enchant weapon scrolls?
B. What do you do if you get a weapon/armor drop dont need?
B1. What do you do if you get a weapon/armor drop you need?
B2. What if you get a weapon/armor drop you want to sell?
C. What do you do if you get a really cool random item and you want to keep it?
D. Do you have the right to say you want to keep the item no matter what it is?
Please answer these questions and state which server you are on.
Frist of all there are no rules with drops - but saying that, if you are in a pick up group, before you go hunting, decided how drops are to be distrubuted - either rolling dice, bid on them, PK each other and last toon standing gets them - what ever you decided.
I know I did not answer your questions directly, but you what I mean.
And I have played on Barts and now Franz - when I was on Bartz the randon RB group I was in - the loot was "random" and who ever got it, kept it - but that is what we decieded before.
Now currently on Franz - when doing ally raids - drops go in clan hall, and given to those that need them.
For a long time all drops were bid on in bartz. If you got 20 ew then 2 would be given out and the other 2 might be bid on if people cared about them.
The person that wins the bid drops the adena and it is picked up by group, usually with the person that won the bid in the group, so the adena was distributed evenly.
If you wanted to keep an item you got, you would most likely end up kos to whoever was there and their clans.
most parties these days are clan only, but if u ever are in a pick up group, you will prolly end up bidding.
Last time I raided a lot it was "by turn" for the lower grade stuff (like EAD, EWD etc) but bid for things like weapons and armor.
Only problem with that though is you'd have whoever got the item log off so he/she didn't have to submit to highest bid, or jack around with everyone so long (afk for 10 mins, running around not responding to anyone, afk 20 mins..) they had no choice but to just give up.
If you're going to get together random people to raid you gotta sort out how you're gonna split the loot first.
I used to take my clan raiding quite alot, all materials got split evenly between how many different clans came and given to a member to put in thier clan WH. Big full drops sold at market and money split. Small full drops get droppped on random in a pty of whoever needs the item.
This is definately a server thing. I see i was right about Lionna, my most played server, that this has never really been a rule there and is only a greedy person's words.
This has caused quite a lot of ruckus...
Ill have to make sure the group decides before the raid next time. Thanks!
only one way a mixed player raid group should go and thats on random whoever gets whatever keeps whatever. if it comes to a boss that requires more than 1 group, stick to clan/ally.
I. Do you believe there are rules to raid group drops?
No, except those built in the game (looting rights).
A. What do you do if you get a drop that is something like, 20 enchant weapon scrolls?
I ask if the others want some. If they are EAD, I don't think they would care.
B. What do you do if you get a weapon/armor drop dont need?
B1. What do you do if you get a weapon/armor drop you need?
B2. What if you get a weapon/armor drop you want to sell?
Within your clan these should be non-issues.
In random groups, I suggest you always ask about the drops beforehand and then stick to that. Me being a bit paranoid, I would even take a screenshot of the chat, just in case the RB drops something.. weird :)
C. What do you do if you get a really cool random item and you want to keep it?
I would keep the item and give adena to the rest of the people. If I don't have that much, I would talk to sort it out somehow. I use some common sense, too, like giving the item if I have already got one in a previous RB.
D. Do you have the right to say you want to keep the item no matter what it is?
The long running multiclan raid group I usually participate in has a tradition of how to split up the raid drops. I think it is appropriate to have the discussion before the raid so everyone understands, rather than after the drops are in someone's inventory and the emotions can run high.
thats good for the high lvl raids, it should be pre organized. but for the 20s and 30s it really shouldnt matter. if some unneeded item drops that noone needs to complete thier set(example brigadine helmet) then just sell the thing and split the money. mat drops (example 106 square shield fragments) can easily be split up between party members.
Dgrade weapon drops go to the person who gets the drop unless other arrangements are made in advance.
single enchant scrolls should go to whoever gets the drop. multiple enchant scrolls should be divided between clans that are present, or to each raid member depending on number of scrolls.
people that drop items on the ground in order to stack the drop turn should be PKd just befor the raid boss is killed and ejected from party afterwards.

Agreed! In fact, that statement would make a nice sig.

I have never seen this happen, but i bet it does, and idk how many people will notice it. I guess you could see it in the pick up menu, but that sucks. And idk how it would benefit the person who dropped? its not like you can actually SEE the drops, the RB and the group is normally too big for the items to be seen for selective pick up. The raids ive been doing have been set to Finders Keepers, which i can't figure out why they would do that if they're going to complain....

Or drop 1 more item to ensure that they are last on the list.
Fight fire with fire and all that.

if its sig worthy why don't you go ahead and up date your 2 year old sig?!
No Mitsu your wrong. it does happen, and if someone is cough doing it they are shuned from partying again in raids.
As for the OP: yes bartz has rules, alot of rules, that newbs to the server don't know, its worst when you get newbs to the game that don't even know how the game is played.
As far as raiding goes there are many who are just happy to get the XP from raiding. Some people who get mad at a butched raid. however some care about drops alot don't. Some people raid just to have fun with others.
very seldomly do you ever find clan only raids for 20-52 lvls. Clan only normally only starts ether at 55 for some bosses, or 70+.
To state that a little better if your doing ally only raid, the leader of command channel has loot rights. its always decided by the clan leaders and officers who's going to get the shares per clan, then with in the clan who needs it can get it, etc.
But for 20-52 those are almost all ways pick up groups! and that guy who said there are rules wasn't pulling crap out of his [censored], there are rules.
Just before you set out to raid ask before hand how loot will be handled between players. And as a curtsy if someone brings down 1 or 2 high lvl buffers to make the raids easier they should have a first pick at loot.
Also don't forget cause of the stacking rules that apply to enchants, EW / EA scroll stack, so its possible for one person to run off with 3+ scrolls.
