Glad VS TH

General Discussion Started Last reply 10 posts
I'm trying to figure out which class to play, and I've cut it down to two classes, Glad and TH.

I'd like to be welcomed in RB parties, and I'd like to be able to win in 1vs1 pvp. Which one should I take?
Do both. Bring both up to lvl 20 (or higher if you like) and decide which one you like best. No one can really can give advice on what character to play. I have an SO that generally isnt needed in parties, but I love playing the character.

Most of the time I just buff other people doing a grind when Im out doing the same. I just for the heck of it.
Make an Gladiator main and sub a TH. That should cover both lol.

RB parties? Neither gladi or TH.
Not talking about low lvl raids.
They are both good choices. Solid damage dealers, good in PvP and PvE. Raid bosses are usually done by large groups (often alliance based) so all people with apropriate levels can participate (not really a matter of class). I think you can't go wrong, whatever you choose.
First we can start with:

Why did you choose general discussion. It's not a difference between the classes. Its what is 'my' opinion of a good class.

Why didn't you such the human fighter section, or put your question in to 'player questions' section?

Both of those sections has alot of player input into each of the classes. Having have a single post dedicated to those classes, with other post of people asking question towards beast gear so on, etc.

I mean thats what those sections are for.

As far as which is better. Getting to 20 wont tell you a single thing about glad play style. You can't find out how a glad is till you become a glad. tho the people who I've seen playing glads tend to like it alot.

Like wise, TH is a very good PvP class. Is one of the better PvE dagger classes, but its play style is nothing like a glad.

One thing to keep in mind is SA'd weapons. With a gladiator, you will need to go +4 to get your SA. Not a big deal for C or B, but for A & S it can get expensive. (S duals are 150-200kk on Hinde now for +0 ..+4 were in shop this morning for 400.)

TH will have things be just as expensive, but with no chance to break your weapon to get it on there.

In my experience, the most welcomed damage at bosses is archers and nukers. Both of these are good at pvp as well.
I agree with most of what was said here. Gladiator and TH are very different, but both excelent DD's.
____________

Gladiators main pros would be that from ~55 level he starts to be dangerous to all classes in game and well-controlled endgame gladiator can defeat anything and anybody. There is no class in LineageII, that defeats Glad more often than he defeats them. This is in battlefield environment hovewer. In PvE gladiators are mediocre DD's, since their power lies in their skills, and you can't exactly non-stop spam skills in PvE all the time.
You should take in concideration, however, that gladiator constantly needs to pay attention not only to his MP, but also to sonic focus value. You will be "focusing" force all the time, also in the middle of a battle. In endgame it changes, since you get skill, that does damage and gathers focus force simultaneosly.
Gladiator skills can't miss the target, does very high damage and most of them can do critical hit. That means TON of damage to anybody.
Also, gladiator has several powerful long-range attacks and Area of Effect skills, which TH lacks.

***

Treasure Hunter is light armor class, so he cant take so much damage than Gladiator, but he has high evasion rating (which wont help you against any skills or magic, however). TH does a lot of damage and doesn't need any focus for that. Some of his skills has a chance to do "lethal strike". I will not comment on it, because im not sure how it works right now, but its very deadly (bypassing enemies CP points to give damage directly to HP, doing aditional damage & etc).
One of most important TH's pros, that he can change or cancel enemies target status thus interupting any magic or skill that enemy is casting at the moment and making him to retarget you. There are several skills, that allows you to do it.
Also TH is fast. Very fast. Not because of his base running speed (that is also pretty high, as all dagger classes), but because of "Dash2" skill. It refreshes very quickly and raises your moving speed value for very high amount, that allows you to move almost twice as fast as anybody in LineageII for 15 seconds.
Main problem for TH, as for any other dagger classes, that his skills DOES NOT land at 100% rate. If you are facing enemy in front, you have a high chance to miss the skill doing 0 damage. If you are facing enemies back, your chances to hit the target increases (also you have special skill, called "back stab" for that. The most powerfull of all TH direct damage skills.).

That's about it. It might not be very accurate what I have posted here or I might miss some important points, because I did not played those classes for a long time, and I'm not familiar with the latest updates on them, but you should have the general idea what is what now.

Personally I like both classes, one for his speed and the other for his power, but probably I would choose Gladiator over TH if I had to.

Not a matter of class doing frint, baium, antharas (!) etc?
melee classes will die horrible..
