So, the much awaited character server transfer is almost here. I have waited for this moment since the launch of Teon. I did not want to reroll back then because i feelt that i had invested to many hours into my character and i had all my friends on Sieghardt. In retrospect that was probably a misstake. Yes, i am Euro player and i have played this game since open beta and i have stayed up numerous nights to take part in the content that is scheduled to accomodate the US player.
I therefore feel that i have somekind of right to know, not a demand nor a request, plain and simple long time customer right to know what will happen next.
As it stands today my server is dying bigtime.
As it stands today i want to transfer to a Euro server since i want to do manor, compete in oly and, if i find a nice clan, defend or attack some castles now and then on hours that are compatible with me holding a regular job.
As it stands today nobody can guarantee that i will be able to do this since caracter server transfer is restricted to server availibility and we know that Toen is unavailible right from the start.
Can we, the playerbase, have some kind of information about what will happen next?
Will there be a new Euro server for those Europeans that didnt make the cut or is my option if Franz also becomes "non availible" to take the hit of leaving my subs gear behind, pay you money for the transfer and still find myself on a server that run on US times?
What i'd really like to know is if Teon will really be unavailable for transfer with all the recent uproar from the Community...
Alyra, Ornery, are you thinking about opening Teon for transfer when the service goes live or is it a definitive "no way" ?
The other (plural) MMO I've seen has blocked transfers to heavy servers and I don't see why L2 has to be different. Of course they might want to make a new euro server seeing how many euro want to siege in their own time zones when the roosters are still awake. On the other hand they should offer FREE transfers from heavy servers.
edit: the market is there for a new euro server. Someone will just have to make a decision on what to do with the old ones (close or merge). In the end it is possible a new euro server will bring in more customers than what is lost by closing or merging the less populated servers.

He he...
That's not really what i meant :p
But i'd really like to have an official position on that... Is there a slight chance that this situation might be reconsidered, or do we have to start planning entirely different things than the ones we started thinking about when Server Transfers were announced a few months back ?
Teon is elite server. You start there or you stay on your lower class server.
I demanded the devs to prevent Grazzt from coming on Teon and they said ok no pb and then they did that. Teon n'est pas avalable Grazzt! Move along, scum! You nwah!
EquilibriumOne you're not the only one in that case :(
I hope they won't force you to go to vjkqbflvqkbj, the other Euro server.

Grazzt is already on Teon, he always was there, but now i want Zaarr, his brother, to join him, so noone can escape the two Dark Brothers from the Shillien Empire !!!!

wow flashback to a horrible single-player RPG.....
wow flashback to a horrible single-player RPG.....
Horrible for the graphics, but the universe was very orignial and immersive, contrary to the next opus with cheap med/fantasy. And of course L2 lore is pretty laughable so...
It was a very good RPG in fact. I just proved it. I won an internet I think.
Oh BTW, to stay on topic: NCsoft will manage to make some players leave by adding a service. Triple Hurray for NCSoft! Or not!

NC Soft are not making or forcing anyone to leave the game by adding a service. However, if they offer a service that is not available for all, the ppl left out will probably not enjoy the game as they used to and eventually leave.
I have no problem with the cost of the service, i can even stand the fact that i cant take my inventory and subs gear with me because i understand why, but planing a service that not consider all europeans that want to play their own times it simply...... I cant think of a word that discribes it.
I mean you choose billing country when you create you account, it should not be too difficult to guess how many european servers you need and how many US servers you need. Before i get flamed for this i know a lot of ppl want to play on alternate times but all im saying is that most europeans want to play european times.
It's not a question of forcing people to leave, it's more a question of enticing people to stay and, on a few servers, attracting a hell of a lot of new players. If NCNA cannot do that then they need to develop a solution whereby those players are happy to continue playing and NCNA keep the revenue. I have never seen a company that is, by their actions, so unworried by their dwindling customer base.
Personally, after playing since open beta, I never envisaged not playing L2. But I have stopped, have cancelled one account and am on the verge of cancelling the remaining 5. It's only the fact that I have a lot of A:SS to craft and sell that I keep those accounts active. Even then I have not logged in since Saturday and that was the first time for two weeks. The fact that I have played L2 for so long is probably what has stopped me from cancelling all my accounts.
If we could transfer whole accounts in one go and take our items with us then we would probably transfer off Sieghardt and keep playing. But as it stands, NCNA will lose us to WoW, as they seem to have lost at least half of the Sieghardt high-level players. These are players who have also played the game since OB and have now vowed never to touch another NCSoft title. Whether they mean that or not only time will tell.
If NC are to be anything other than a figure of derision in gaming markets outside of their homeland then they need to gain some independance from their Korean parents and start listening to their regional playerbase(s). This seems like as good a place to start as any.
what other games do is to entice people to go to less populated servers they offer free one way transfers to the servers with the least population to get more people on these servers.
To be make this feasiable we also need to promote l2, which should of been done at the launch of ct1 but not one pc mag even reviewed the largest expansion since c4 so how do you propose you get new players?
NCsoft overall is dying in NA, i can't buy a time card in person for any ncsoft game which has made me stopped even playing CoH/CoV because i only play it from time to time and buy time cards for it but cannot even do that anymore?
Alyra should bring this to the attention NCsoft NA corp its not just l2 that slowing dropping its all their titles, we know how bad their recent title crash and burned at launch.

You really think they don't already know what is happening in the different gaming markets? Wake up, like any international company worth millions, they are doing what is financially feasible at the time the decision is made. As long as L2NA is producing revenue with the least amount of funds invested they will continue to let us play. The last thing on there mind is how happy you are, when was the last time you heard about a drug dealer showing compassion for his addicts?
The first dose is free, you will come back and pay for all the rest and you'll do what ever I tell you to get your next dose. This has worked for centuries, why would today be any different?
Now stop thinking about yourself and get back in game.
Spent the first six month playing on Teon when it went live. Obviously I didnt know what I was doing since I was doing since it took me the first 3 months to get to lvl 40 all that newb gear and no buffs and not using shots with low grade weps. Anyway the independance day event came up and I made more money from the first raid boss army than I had the hole game. Started to really enjoy the game get good gear really learning how to play the game. Joined a Clan and a few spoke english. Basically my Teon experience was getting to 60 and knowone understanding what I was saying and vice versa. Really ruined the game for me on Teon.
When im bored I go over there and pk everything I see for an hour or so to get it out my system and then come back to Devianne. Wonder if all the points will go away when I tranfer him to devianne.
