We usually group in catacombs, but lately every room is filled with 7-9 random letter chars killing mobs. In general, we could pull a train from another area on them and they'd all die and stay on the floor for the rest of our grind session. Now that they're in every room, there aren't enough mobs to train.
Second strategy was to unequip our weapons, and fist-smack the healers while sitting so they couldn't regen mana. That works if you have the time, but not always.
Third option was to just pk the healers, the others would eventually die from lack of healing. However, lately there have been high level dagger characters waiting for us to go red then they'd pk back. While I don't mind defending myself and taking over a spot, I was wondering if anyone has some tried and true method of dealing with these guys.
My latest thought was to mana drain the healers without pk, and wait for the fighters to die that way. If the daggers come out, we could just take them down.
Any advice? Going to another area isn't the best option either, as they'll surely infest that area next. And when I say they're in almost every room in cata, that's exactly true. Not sure on your server but it is on mine.
Best way is to get to mobs b4 them they drop target if u hit first in most cases. Once u have enuff mobs train them, and make sure u mass petioned them with every in your party/clan/friends they wont be around long.
Just a min ago my BH was in Witches and one of the Pilgrim mobs (normally VoS) spawned in a bot controlled room, I had heard of these angelic mobs spawning wierdly before, but this is the first I had seen it. The bots attacked it, then the Pilgrim Pawned the entire bot train.
I have just watched them rez themselves and reenter the room, hopefully this will happen again. I know its off topic slightly, but I'm just tickled pink to watch and I had to share!
Once I saw a healer of such party setup to pick all drops of the group, while others just kill the stuff.
I don't know if it's usual case or not, but if you will ever find such group, you might want to concider flooding healers inventory with many heavy items. Eventually he wont be able to heal or buff and that should lead to death of all party.
Also, if you have some good healers around, you might want to buff and heal mobs those soullesses are fighting and stun the healer simultaneously (I can't see it working on a big group, but it's an option).
Other than that, if you have a tank, you can try luring the mob they are hitting, to the other room or smth, maybe they will be stuck on some corner on their way back or just stay in that new room.
I know this isn't the situation the OP described, but if the bots are in a room where there is another room full of mobs next door (like in catas and necros and by the bugs in Imperial Tomb) then wait until they have targeted a mob and then fear the mob into the full room.

Yeah, not an option. Each room has a full bot team and they're very good at keeping the room clear to one mob, next spawns just as they're killing the first. I may try the tactic of luring their current mob into the hallway, though I've been told their programs have either map location limits or previously tagged mobs are not attacked.
We've tried healing their mobs while they're attacking, maybe that needs to be revisited if we can heal them long enough to spawn more in the room.
Yes, they will NOT attack the monster, that is already busy attacking someone, you will need to wait for them to start, then start healing mob and luring it, by using aggression, at the same time. I have no idea if it's possible at all and how it will work out.
And yes, users of these programs usually sets a perimeter to engage mobs and won't move any step further to attack monster even that is only slighty away from the invisible border, but I don't think they would cease their attack when exiting the perimeter while chasing that mob.
Please post here how it went and if you happen to find any other interesing solution to your problem as well.
