A thought. Once upon a time, Sieghardt had a huge euro population. Instead of making yet another server, why not just designate one that was an unofficial euro server to begin with the new euro server? One of the original open beta servers will be rejuvinated, no extra costs will be needed for more hardware, and aside from a bit of time shifting, everyone would be happy.
In the meantime, I invite all forgotten euros to return to Sieg ... have fun with us once again! :)
I don't really care to see Seighardt get merged, or have any other drastic changes. Make it a Euro server - meh. We do have a lot of Euro players, including my clan, but we also have a lot of NA players.

No offence matey but we don't have a LOT of players at all, let alone a lot of Europeans and a lot of North Americans. We will soon have far less as well.

Agreed on the 'not many players' be them euro or NA ... But lately I come across more euro then NA (not that I mind)
Bring on the merger...whether it becomes euro or not I don't mind, I've been Euro on this server for 4 years now and have no issues with the time as it worked out just fine for my clan (which is the one oldy refers to :D).
New blood is needed and if for that it means merging, well fine by me :) (just hope if they do go for mergers, that they will not make the merge one where evryone looses all they have worked for though).
The need for a new Euro server is more than evident. I believe they should create one from scratch and allow transfers there from all NA servers (not from Teon/Franz). After that, they can check the activity and decide which servers need merging and which to keep.
Yes. Let Gustin merge with another/other server(s), preferably one where the econony has not been screwed to this extent =.= And let us keep our warehouses and stuff, because I don't intend to start moving from one town to the next ...on feet again!
Think they need to let the servers settle for at least 6 months, and see what happens. Some of these so called 'dead' servers might get a lot of people, or become even more dead... I rather wait and see.
I agree. I'm on the wait and see mode myself too. Besides, NCNA isn't that fast, so most of these discussions are mere literature, which will serve as a reference point if things get screwed up at some point.
(By the way, shouldn't you change your name to "MsJyrki"? I saw you in Giran today and you looked gorgeous! The name though seemed a kind of a flaw. LOL)
I agree with a "wait and see" approach but I think that six months is far too long. Hell, even the unmentionable ones will have left Sieghardt by then.
Plus, NCSoft's history of software development is such that waiting until a "settling in" period has finshed could lead to us having to wait another 6 months until the software is ready. Start working on server merge software now whilst the server populations are monitored and it could be ready by the time any decision is made.
A merge is fine by me. Hell, give us two other servers. Of course, they could do this, too. ;)
After this weekend, I'm thinking a server merger is needed. Whether the resulting server is Euro or not - meh. The thing is, I'm watching a lot of selling activity in Giran this weekend, apparently due to players who want to transfer to another server. This has me concerned both for the population size, and for the economy on Seighardt.

When you see the rats leaving the ship you know it's time to learn to swim. ;)

Sieghardt has declined a lot in the last year, and it took a really bad plunge when ICA gave up playing. Now with transfers, I expect it to fall rapidly down into oblivion... We're really going to need server merges.
Is that such a big wonder? Back when i joined the game (about a week or two after L2 went live), Hindemith was talked about as the "unofficial euro server" - that's why I chose it. Hinde has a HUGE euro population.
What I think is even more interesting is that there are two servers - Sieghardt and Erica - which have no difference in server load at all during a 24h period. It is as if all the players stay on 24/7...
The players are staying on 24/7 because they're all busy with the huge transfer market in giran. But the most of what's left are the bots that always work 24/7 :)
