DA skill Horror

Does anyone have any experience using this in PVP? How is the landing rate and does it make attacker lose target, if so how long?
The land rate isn't too nice it needs a slight increase... and it's a fear skill it makes you run away
I've only tried it a couple times on summons/pets and it never landed.
My own panther has been feared a number of times at seiges and run away (he's kind of chicken, I think).

This is one of those 'non-skill' DA skills I wish I hadn't spent SP on....along with Hamstring, corpse life drain, etc.

Mainstays for the class appear to be shield stun, judgement, shackle....with life drain tossed in as a pull instrument. Banish seraphim for the week the angels are in the cata is fun and has a fair land rate.
Plus self buffs and the panther summon that's about all I can think of off the top of my head....

If I had it to do over I would skip the rest for a good long time.
This fear skill sometimes proves usefull in PvE. When you get a few too much strong mobs on your shield you can fear one away (provided you have casting speed buffs. Ive used wit dyes back then too). Also adds some "fun" element to that grind...

Hadn't played DA for a long time, tho. It might be different now.
Yeah when you get a ton of mobs on you, instead of UDing and spaming hp pots, you use horror only to get this message

*name* has resisted your horror

Then you have a popup on your screen that says

Return to Town
etc.
etc.
etc.
Yes, ofcourse, if all your tanking is charging ten 5x mobs in two mans party.

When I am tanking I am usually trying to save as much party memebers HP and MP as I can, and being hit by 2 mobs instead of 3 is helping my healer. Also, if you aim it well, mob ends up in the corner with his back exposed for archers criticals and daggers backstabs.

It's not for "OMG im gonna die, what do I do" situations.
It's not for anything...because it DOESN'T LAND.

Might as well whistle a toon and check out the sky as waste the mana on it.

There are no DA's out there routinely tossing horror in PvE (unless they are solo and bored).
If you want to play cookie cutter, then yeah. But not everyone is like that.

And I should say that horror lands fairly often (PvE), but you really need empower for that. On the other hand, as I said before, I have no idea how it works now, so don't pay so much attention to me :P
You don't find the Hamstring skill usefull in PvP, does it cast to slow? Anytime you can slow someone down in PvP is good!
Id be curious drakko if you were useing bsps and empower when casting horror.
Ok I hunted with EMP3 Beserk2 Acum3 and bsps horror did not land once, banish seraph was doing a much better job but I guess it's because it only works for the Angel/Divine(The hardest kind of mobs to find ever especially since Dawn always win)

And don't get me started in PVP and also Hamstring has a better land rate, but it still is poor.

Id be curious drakko if you were useing bsps and empower when casting horror.

Always bspsA--almost never access to buffs. I'll grant that could make a difference and it would be one I wouldn't know.
I only know I've cast it dozens and dozens of time and 'most' of the time it fizzles to nothing.

It's just quicker and less mana drain to go with the big 2 and maneuver when solo PvE....if you want to hold one of the mobs shackle it (which almost always lands) and take the other...shield stun what you want to interrupt at beginning of mob fight and keep swinging the sword.
Hamstring, horror?
Maybe I'm just hunting in places that are too safe. Don't use them tanking in groups and don't use them solo PvE either....mostly cause when I have tried them they don't work anyway.
Just shackle and move back, man it would be sweet to have aoe shackle but we don't so... shackle and move away
