Hey there, I'm lvling a SPS and wondering what the best SA would be for a SOM+4 for PVE : ACUMEN or MAGICAL POWER. Both have their pros and cons, need some advice. Thanks.
SpS rely's on speed and speed is it's main weapon. Acumen is the only SA you should ever have on your main wep ie.. SOM.
I know some people that still wear Demon or even nightmare robes for PVE. I have done it but NM robes IMO are not worth the price. Demon robes however are cheep and work just fine during PVE. But when it comes to PVP DC robes with SOM/acu is the only way to go. Even in S grade DC robes are better but you will still need to have acu your Arcana mace.
My opinion also points towards accumen. Magic power SA is great for fighters that use magic and orc mages (Low INT magic users) but not pure mages. Let me give you an example. A 74 lvl spellsinger with +4INT/+4WIT/-8MEN, DC robes, buffed with Emp/Acc lvl3 and a SOM +4 has:
-Accumen SA: M.Atk 1429, Casting Speed 976
-Mag.Power SA: M.Atk. 1596, Casting Speed 848
Accumen gives 15% more speed and only 5.6% more Mag.damage (and at an expense of 15% more mana per attack). On the other hand, Mag.Power will give you more chances to land any debuffs (e.g. cancel, vortexes)
SAs only consider base stats (not those added by other SAs).
And the M.Atk/Damage Gained per nuke is not the problem with Magic Power (SPS can use any increase it can get). The bigger problem is the increase in MP consumption which is horribly high (15%) and on a class that is very bad in the MP Management area. The negative effects scale up as you level, but hte positive effects don't scale at all.

Good point I totaly forgot to mention the extra mp consumption. From my experience one of the biggest issues with Sps is mp consumption anything that adds to that is a big NO NO.
