I fully expect NCsoft to credit my account 1 day for this massive, unexpected, unplanned, and unofficial downtime.
My account is set to expire on March 31st, so I will expect it to now expire on the 1st of April as will a large proportion of the community expect 1 day to be added to their account.
We expect the servers to be back up and spinning by 12:00 AM Central Time (7:00 AM GMT+1). We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and will keep you updated if anything changes.
It will never happen. This isn't the first time that the servers have been down for a protracted length of time. We didn't get refunds then, we won't get them now.

You need to get out a bit more, and I'm not trying to be rude.

You obiously don't know NCSoft that well :p
It aren't gonna happen. Even when the servers where down for few days when C5 was launched we didn't get anything.
LOL I can't believe you guys are B itching about 1 Day... Come on..
Most ppl are at work during this downtime anyways, or asleep.
Don't want to be mean but, Do all you do is play L2? OMG L2 Withdrawls for 1 DAY ,

I remeber those days.. went out and saw a movie, played a game of catch and read a book.. good times :)
Actually in Europe it is in the middle of the day meaning that the servers go up almost right after you get home from work (7pm for me), but I took the opertunity and went out for few hours to see the real world for a change while the servers are down.

I cant believe some people...I have had an account since AUG 2004. Its a DAY ppl, get over it. Crap happens. I more concerned with the mass migration from my servers what its going to do to the economy.

I think that it is entirely appropriate that the OP wants his account to expire on April Fool's Day.
I made this post to make a point and the point is definitely thoroughly made. You are the same users who cry about server transfers, the same users who are crying about NCsoft not giving relevant information in a timely manner. It is because users like you let them get away with even the little things that they are given the right as a service provider to walk all over you.
The inability of NCsoft is growing and you are the culprits, even now it is quite funny at the contradictory actions they are now performing, for example you are all well aware of NCsoft removing hero statuses for members. We have Alyra, the community manager telling players to submit the support ticket to have it removed, and we have helpful GM's removing them, but them we have other GMs such as GM Hardens response to a Hero of ours
Hello XXXXXX,
We thank you for contacting Lineage II E-mail Support.
In response to your reported concern, we would like to inform you that the Game Masters shall not be able to render such in-game assistance to the players, as the removal of Hero status needs to be done by players themselves.
I post relevant, and necessary topics that should be, and need to be addressed. Your QQing is your own, and it really doesn't bother me, and for the record, I did get a credit to my account during that last protracted outage. Perhaps it is your fault for not complaining that you did not get yours.
I've gotten a few credits accually .. but I haven't ever asked for them. I just naturally assumed that Ncsoft does it proactively when they feel game downtime needs to be addressed.
Really it's a good will thing, and paying attention to their service... it's not about the loss of a day but the principle I guess. Anyway.. as I said I've gotten it several times. <shrug> They just don't really advertise it is all. (like you don't see some major announcement or anything)
I fully expect you to read your EULA and TOS and realise that the servers are never promised to be up at any time, when you want them, for any length of time or duration, blah blah blah.
Concerning the ToS players have to pretty much be ok with server down time concerning updates and fixes. You are not entitled to your one day, even though you may think that. It is not a given that we will have all the hours and days in a month. Deal with the 1 day that you couldn't play and understand that they were down because of a legitimate matter.
True but I have played other games with the same ToS, that have rewarded players for unanounced or extended down times. Doesn't mean they have to but it does make the player base happy. Not that I would ever expect anything like that from NcSoft.
Yes. But granting the time would be their own Prerogative. They don't owe us anything. But they do give us this great game. Gosh, want crack....I mean lineage 2, why do i have to be at work on lunch, lol. :)
