wouldn't you think that having the servers UP is more important than a few transfers? well okay, so you got yourself a big load of transfers and you can't do it all at once, so what do you do?
you transfer how ever many you can, and put the others on hold until the next week, and put the servers back up. why?
because you are hurting more players that aren't transferring by keeping the servers down, than you would by having some transfers on hold till next week.
Lol--have you been reading the posts? Do you have any idea of the aftermath if everyone who got an acceptance notice isn't allowed to transfer?
The fact is some clans are not reserving spots for everyone who wants to transfer in to their server---and when premier clans get filled (with all the advantage that offers) then those coming later are sort of out-of-luck.
The folks at NCSoft should have laid on enough folks to get the job done.
You're right that a lot of folks are honked off now--I just don't see your solution to 'x-fer whatever you can and do the rest later' as something that would be very acceptable to those thinking they are going to spawn on the server of their dreams.
think about it this way, then. how many people are transferring? a hundred? two hundred? three? maybe a whopping thousand?
would you want to tick off a thousand people by pausing the server transfers, or tick off the entire population of subscribed players to l2?
Normaly id agree that NC should have split the transfers over 2weeks insted of cramming it into 1 week, does after all say in the transfer description that it can take 10 buisness days.
But considering how many people are transfering NC pretty much wants to make sure they get there money (54$ a pop).Hey ,to be honest with u all, id rather take those few hundred- 54$ and run with it.

It is most likely more.
They said that the server transfers put Teon and Franz close to the limit, so that sounds like about 1000 characters each. Not players, characters. I guess many players with S grade stuff for their subclasses transferred not only their main toon, but also an alt carrying extra equipment. So it may very well be 1000 players resulting in 2000 transfers or something like that. Many players might also have simply transferred their prophet/se/pow ee, too.
