huh? you can't lvl sub's over lvl 80? if thats right, woot NCsoft scores again for the fantastic job they are doing with the game that MIGHT have been one of the best!
Well, that's a tough call. It is supposed to be a "sub" class. So lesser than the Main class. The problem is that they never really defined what that actually meant (typical of the dev's as they don't seem to be working from a plan).
So, picking a class has more meaning because it means that only your main has the ability to rise to the top power.
Having said that, we all know that NC really hasn't done a great job with some classes as it seems that a lot of them have either been left by the wayside or that the NC dev's think of them in a way that is not pertinant to NA/Euro players. So essentially, maybe in the Korean market there are many Temple Knights running around and that the classes aren't boxed to the extent that you find here.
Another problem with L2 is that everything seems do or die. I mean, look at the premise for this thread: "I don't like my main class and want to be something different".
Seems pretty simple right? Reroll. No harm no foul. Why stay with a class you don't like. But because the game is conceived in such a way that a character can have an eventual Event Horizon, it seems hard to just reroll and do it all over again.
The mindset for this game is really one of "knowing what you want", using groups to get what you want, patience, patience and more patience and incremental rewards.
And don't get me started on skills that have no apparent use. Like the land areas, parts of this game are implemented and then left to rot as they are no longer needed.
Seriously, why have some of the skills in this game when no one uses them because they have little efficacy? As a dev I would say that either the skill is broken or that the players aren't clear when that skill could be used to its best advantage. But there really isn't any forethought or care for such thought.
So.... long story "longer": You are at a place where you have to make a choice. And it's not easy. But in the end, that is what L2 is about.
essentially, your class choice can be comparable to you choosing to overenchant and you now just learned that you "earned" X amount of crystals.
