Its a hard one to call, I am going to assume everyone who xfered last week will be moving buffers and alts this week.
Prolly be close to as many xfers as last week.
If NC learned anything after last week I will guess a 25% improvement in efficiency, roughly 10 hours.
Unless the planets are in line, then I would say 6-8 hours.
If NC actually puts more then 2 people on it, meaning they visited one of the local illegal alien day worker hang outs......best case scenario if just one of them has any computer experience, 4 hours of down time.
I know of at least 400 accounts planning on transfer today.....
might be 12hr+ downtime, lol.
You don't know that many people, how can you say 400? Well, after thinking about you probably have 400 that hate you, but they aren't leaving since you are :D
By my reasoning the downtime will be bang on (or under) the quoted time.
Even if ALL the players from ALL the servers changed about, the database changes/updates wouldnt take that long to process.
My opinion (all flames welcome) is that they messed up the transfers and had to restore the whole shooting match from a backup and THAT is what took the time.
<flame ******ent suit deployed>.
last time downtime was 13 hours long and that time announcement was 3 hours. todays announcements makes estimation of 4 hours long downtime. so, making some calculations, i estimate that todays downtime is 17 hours 20 minutes.

Yup I tend to agree with you... a clannie of mine had setup a buy shop for GSS.
He bought them all - the server went down he logged back in and he had 1 GSS and all the money was back in his inventory. And 1 person who sold to him before, he had the GSS back in his Inventory... Odd Eh?
I dont believe more people will transfer than the first week. Its really the leftovers of people on old servers and people that had to settle with clan leadership..
During the servers maintenance, an issue has occured. All characters had been deleted and our saves burned. U have to begin a new char. We apologize for this issue, and we give to our customers one day free of payment.
thanks you.

Well keep in mind we did havea lunar eclipse this week which might add a few hours to the down time taking in the shifting of tides and what not.
I thought it was 14 hours but whatever, point is kind of moot now if its up again lol
Altho I am still at work so I dont know if its working for real ;)
Even if it was 13 hours, thats 13/4 = 3.25x3 = 9.75
Maybe you can pose this question to the board because i've been wondering the answer to this.
With these server transfers we now have, can we expect a couple of hours to be added onto the normal 3 hours of server maintenance? Will this added time ever be eliminated?
It just seems to me that the trade off of server transfers meaning we went from 3 to now 5 hours of server down time. Is just completely unacceptable.
this will likely change splatter... as atm, the server transfer demands are extremely high due to the fact that it's been a long waited for feature.
we'll probably be seeing these extended downtimes for the next month at least..... this is just a guess however. At which point, the massive flood of people transfering around will have come to a meer trickle and pretty will have stopped only for a few.... handfuls at best of people transfering afterwards. Then the downtimes will be back to normal IF in fact that extended downtimes are indeed related to transfers (makes sense.. only logical reason)
