Warcryer or Prophet?

Which do you think is the best buffer? I personlly like the Warcryer. I think if the Prophet had some form of Vampirec Rage it would be different but VR is a must for melees.
Warcrier for sure :)

personally I like PP more.

but WC is definitely the better buffer.

PP needs alot of love!!
Don't under estimate the power of Zerk! Go PP
Wow, that one hurts my head.
WC is easier to drag around instead of PP, SE, EE

And when they hit 66, look out world!

WC +1
Overall definetely prophet...Why not both :).

Yes, prophet doesn't get VR but it can still keep you alive.

I have a warcryer buffer and it's awesome, but there are three things that annoy me about it.

One and the most annoying is that even though it can buff an entire party at once, what happens if someone dies? You're [censored] out of luck and all you can do is give them soul shield cause your mana bar will be almost empty or can't afford to rebuff.

Two is that you don't get windwalk (yes I know you can use pots [which I am], but it gets very expensive to keep it on continuosly).

And three is that you don't have a resurrect meaning you have to give paper rezes for 0%.

Well to add something else that can be annoying too, is that you have to give greater shield or greater might to the whole party. Can't distinguish between tank and dd.

Prophet with conversion or mana up weapon is awesome for small parties or duos. And vr is overrated. With a tank and pp, I spam maybe 10-15 hp pots a buff round. If you happen to have light masteries and wear nm light, even better...
WC are my best friends. We live in buffer/healer harmony. :p

overall definitely WC

VR is the bread and butter of melee parties. you can have a warcryer or a prophet and a healer
If a player dies in your party you did something wrong. But a prophet will still have the same problem. they'll be needing mana next time everyone elses buffs run out.

Windwalk is uneeded in most pve cases, and if you need it a lot of the time a standard Haste pot will do, you rarely need a greater one for pve

0% res or 20%res.. difference is minimal, and they make up for it by being an overall superior buffer

you can give greater shield/might, just have the tank/mystics or the DD's leave party, whichever has the fewest
buff what they need first, they leave, buff the others, reinvite
It will take less time than a prophet buffing an entire party with it if done right.

Prophet with conversion/mana up casts super slowly. I saw someone suggesting -wit+men, majestic and a conversion weapon, for giving the prophet sufficient mana regeneration/pool to buff an entire party. only problem with that is that it will take 10 minutes for a full round of buffs.

WC can buff an entire party in less than a minute easily, takes a long time on a prophet.

If a player dies in your party you did something wrong.

Or the Noob melee toon didn't care that the healer has no mp & charged 6 mobs anyhow......dumb-[censored] melee.

If a healer needs to watch the melee's HP, then melee toons need to watch a healers MP.

If they dont, & they die, then #$%&*$* them. :)

as I said. you did something wrong.

the melee toon did something wrong. not the healer.
And in any case. this was about res values to begin with. if you have a healer there. that is kinda.. pointless for this argument ^^
The Warcryer is better if you can only have one, and a party is heavy with melees. But a party with a WC can get a really nice boost from a few select buffs from any of the other classes, depending on where they are / what they are up against.
Maybe we should move this to the "Suggestions" section, and ask for a Warphet or a Prophcryer.
I thought everybody would say Prophet but I guess the Warcryer is the real favorite of Lineage 2. Good to know that since I just rerolled going Warcryer. Thanks guys.
Oh, BTW, just one thing... C.o.V. ^^

isnt prophecy of fire the same, how get that?
CoV > Pof.. most of the time.
Cov is ~ PoF+PoW. In the endgame a WC is so much better then a Hierophant. A WC can give CoV to a party in a second .. a Hierophant needs at last 3-4 Minutes to have everyone Pofed and a lot more mana. And its a real pain to rebuff it as a Hierophant.
Hierophants dont even get any Level 81 skills. And no1 takes a 25% rezz from a Hierophant/PP in the endgame. The level 79 Skills of a Hiero are close to useless .. Doomcryer gets Magnus- and Protectionchant (and Gatechant at 78)
Even at 77 a Hiero has only Elemental-Protection wich now
can be easy replaced by pots/stones. A Doomcryer gets the much better Chant of Spirit.
If you want to buff and dd and heal and have a cool classname and and .. go Doomcryer - if you want to use Return2 go PP ^^

playing a PP since prelude .. 78 Hiero now. And sorry for bad english.
A WC can buff a full party of 9 with pets or summons in 20 Secs.

I don't Think I need say anything else on why a WC is better. ;)
Really depends on the class I guess..but..I'm a 6x tyrant and I have a 5x SE, 6x pp and 6x wc (those two on same account). I prefer the pp, but only because i have access to an se also. With the pp I gain a nice boost in killspeed because of zerk and holy weapon, and the resists PP's give out are nice. Without the SE though, i'd be forced to use my WC.

However, imo if you have access to VR, PP > WC.
No VR, WC > PP.

In the end, I guess that means WC > PP overall, but I feel much more dangerous with full pp buffs, at least pre 79.

shouldn't take 20sec, unless you're leaving your cst. spd. buff out and not using an acumen weapon :)

CoV is the ultimate 78buff, It has the good parts of every prophecy, the only 2 things it's missing I think is the speed reduction (PoWind doesn't have that) and magic crit rate (from PoWater)
Other than that it has everything.
patk/def
matk/def
accuracy
cst/atk-spd
HP
critical(and crit. damage)
It's also missing 4% VR effect from PoWind and CoV has more run speed reduction 25 instead of 10 for PoW and PoF.
Depends of the party, archer/melee/nuker parties etc
If the party has a chance to die while xping, use bon.

This is why it takes 20 secs I wear Light Armor and I use a Blunt with Health no acumen. ;)

But It's less the 15 secs now I have +4 WITT
To the OP. I think you chose right. Let me tell you one thing. It doesn't matter if you are in a good or bad, small or big clan. You will be finding parties either as WC or PP. But be rest assured, that there will be times that you will be forced to solo. And when that time comes, believe me, you will want to be a WC.
I am very much a newbie, and most of the alphabet-soup in this thread is still unfamiliar to me, so I hope you can be patient with my question. :)

My main character is a destroyer, and my second is on her way to being a prophet. I chose prophet over warcryer mostly because...well...I already have one orc I love, so I suppose I wanted some variety. But I did want to confirm that a battle prophet isn't completely helpless when soloing. I was going that direction because I recalled reading that prophets do OK with heavy armor and their buffs, but...has that changed?

I can handle if another class is better, as long as I'm not completely sucking wind. :)

You're better off leveling in almost any other way than solo on a prophet.
warcryer beats prophet in that department for sure at least.
buffs+transform works out pretty well, but the last 10 minutes is gonna be unbuffed

Prophet is decent for supporting a destroyer, berserker spirit helps with atk spd, which means you can frenzy, zealot and rage more often. it does mean less defense though. With the changes to frenzy, VR is actually counter productive, so you don't need it like you used to.

And AshleyHunter, should really get a cheap acu weapon, like mysterious sword w/ acu, would make a difference :)
maybe a devotion set too? Doesn't cost much :)
yea but I have -5 con so that would add more weight. I'm already at 49% when i start my daily hunt.

My wolf could hold it but the time it takes to get the gear from the wolf and put it back kills the whole point of buffing fast in the first place ;)
prophet for archer (zerk and holy weapon)
warcryer for the rest.
Mgz is right with the archer thing.

It all depends on what you want the buffer for. I've levelled and played WC, PP, SE, EE, OL and used them as buffers also.

WC is best if you want it for a main or if you want it to buff a melee party. Endgame WC is a must in pvp/raid parties for CoV, gatechant and Chant of protection (which PP should of got imo).

on the other hand Prophet is the uber 2 box buffer/plvler for archers and nukers with an SE. Since WC is so mana dependant early on and has to be in party to buff. Also PP can heal/30% rez (with right tattoos) and can rebuff easily after deaths/cancel.

2box a PP becomes alot more useful more quickly than a WC, but WC is awesome for melee and endgame or as a main.
