There I was hunting in Blazin Swamp in the middle of a batle with 2 orcs when out of nowhere 2 mobs from MoS spawned by my side and started following me.
Well, someone came at some point and killed the advocate and runed away. I soed back to castle and few min laer the mob respawned by me again..now giving these buffs:
I petitioned about it.. we had a thread few weeks ago about this happening but without ss details. and I got a chat with GMHarold, nice guy btw, and he asked me for details and screenshots etc.. and I took the chance to ask about some stuff that is everybody concern.. i guess..
Obs on the angels behavior: they run behind you but when u stop they continue to go arround you like crazy dogs..
As this was implemented around C4 and no one ever saw those mobs before I bet its not well finished. =/ But rocks :)
I would agree with you Spud, if this happened alot but it doesn't. Old topic but very interesting whenever it happens specially when someone can SS and fraps/replay it. Still waiting for my turn :)
Well the only thing I can see that answers one question, is that I'm almost positive if that was a gm polymorphed, I don't believe the buffs would say "NPC" on them. At least when Miykael use to buff people polymorphed it would still be the regular buffs. Nice screenies btw!
I think its a game mechanic that is so rare it seems like a bug. Might be better just to get a full drop when your number is called instead of a buffing angel.

I actually recall reading waaaay, way back an additon in one of the chronicles that indicated there was supposed to be npc's appearing to players. Maybe this is somethign that never really worked when it was implemented.
To the op: did they ask for change? Because when I saw them in Aden, they asked for change. Only had a quarter but gladly gave it.

You're silly, GMs can attack players, remember the GM fights in SoDA and around the arena? :)
I think their names are yellow now too but it doesn't have to be.
Anyway yeah the notes way back when said a "hero" mob would show up to help you, I posted pictures before of two orc mobs with "hero" in their name. Someone actually saw one on live way back when and it was a ragna or breka orc that showed up to help them kill another mob. It didn't buff or follow them around. I'm pretty sure, at the time, that's what they meant by hero mobs.
This may be hero mobs but it's not what was originally planned, IMO.

A very long time ago (when mobs where everywhere) when I rerolled a human fighter, I was like lvl 4 in newbie gear killing the werewolves on TI, when I got surrounded by like 4 and was dying fast. Out of no where, one of the werewolves name changed (I forgot what to), and instead of attaking me, it was attacking the other werewolves and it actually saved me lol. I couldn't believe it. No one was around so no one used confuse. It's name changed.
So that rumor about mobs helping you "was" true at some point. It has never happened since though... I never told anyone about it.

Ah cool. I knew I wasn't imagining that I saw that stated somewhere!
Nice to see an explanation for the Angels spawning o.O One weird thing is, a clannie of mine has run into non "hero" mobs faaaaaaar away from where they are suppose to be. I.e. 2 witch warders at FoM. I know people run from them if they get spawned, but running all the way to devestated castle from IoP is a bit extreme lol
I did modify the original message to be more clear. Now it states, "If a player is in danger during a fight against a monster, on very rare occasion a hero monster (or monsters in some cases) may appear to help the player. These hero monsters will not necessarily have the word "hero" in their name or title."
So funny they just started appearing just now.. =/
I play for more then a year and this have never happened before.
What was described there before Alyra?
And how come those Angels apperar? I think in C3 they were not in game yet. Maybe they could have upgraded this feature with angels after C3?

Anyone know where i can upload the replay files??
your forgetting l2 Chance.
The Chance of a Hero showing up to help you is 1 in 5389586562376343778934789934
Because this was added in C3 it's right for them show up about now. :D
I don't know how anyone else feels about this but I just think this is the absolute coolest thing. Even if the chance is like getting three full drops in a row, to know it's in the game and can happen is awesome!
I logged into Bartz yesterday just to check out Giran's population when I saw an Angel wandering around. Interesting enough, this one did have some sort of name such as "disciple of..." or "Prophet of..." like the other ones had but actually had a name. Something like Belikael or some such thing. It wasn't doing anything, just wandering around.
