What's with the event droprates changing making it harder for euros?
It's happened in previous events too. Last night I came home as the event started, did about 33 hours hunting and got roughly 100 items an hour, awesome.
I woke up this morning, went in the same spot, same killspeed and got maybe 25 items an hour if I'm lucky... it's the same aweful rate all over the game.
It's happened on events before, I imagine you'll increase the droprate at US nighttime meaning euros have alot less chance to get nice items.
Still along the lines of droprates, how come the droprate for lifestones was severely nerfed? now everyone who was in power in the past and could get alot of these stones has awesome augmentations while other players now have to pay insane prices or hunt insame hours to get a single go at an augment which is probably useless.
meaning the powerful remain powerful and no one else can catch up.
I think the firestone droprate has taken a severe nerf too, can anyone back this up?
Heh, crap as always. The Zaken event was the exception that confirms the rule. And even zaken's curse was poorly planned, all those automatons...
Just L2 as usual, no reason to.. be surprised.
Way to ruin a perfectly fine event NCSoft. Gimping the drop rate down from 40-60 a buff round to 15 or so ruined it. Are you worried people are gonna have to many of those stupid pots or what? It would have been better to reduce the amount of pots/rewards, lets us have the better drop rate to make us feel like we are havin fun. XPin for an hour and a half for 50 items is ******ed.
i heard a rumor, they have increased event items drop rate when it's evening (most populated time) according server's timezone. it seems correct as last events were likely affected by that phenomenon. ppl said they have much of items in evenings and much less all other time. now i get same reports.
It's not really a rumour. It's how it's always been with events. The drop rate is higher when it's prime time for american players. 6-7 PM EST and a few hours onwards.
ya we will see this evening if it changes but chances are during the "daylight savings" they didnt just lower it a lil but the pretty much just removed the parts from the game.

This is true since C4 every event requiring you to hunt mobs to get event items has been like this. Either you play during peek hours and collect a ton of quest items or you play 5x as long during non peek hours to collect the same amount.
It's an automation prevention method. Really only hurts regular players since event item prices go way up when this happens. But this is how NcSoft NA does it.
The drop rate started to lower around 3 AM eastern time (2AM server time) so theres an 8 hour window for good drop rates assuming the good drop rates will start at 6pm server time again.
Well I'm not on a euro server and it was 1:1 when event started last night and about 1:4 mobs this morning when I logged on.
How about you all stop being fragile and seeing a conspiracy behind everything you see in the game.
You had the EXACT SAME EXPERIENCE as NA players--yet you whined and [censored] like sissies.
Maybe engage your brain and gather at least a fact or two before you post "poor Euro" rants?
lol you're really ignorant aren't you? Do you think we all have the same time zone all over the world? If you as an american get a 1:1 drop rate at 6pm and we europeans get it at 2 am. How is that fair? I wonder who needs to engage his brain :)
except-- the event on euro servers started at... ding ding: 6pm GMT+1. Sounds like you're playing at the wrong server if you had to be up at 2am for a good drop rate.
The droprates vary at different times as everyone has noticed. It would be nice to get an official response as to why this is the case.
Waiting in anticipation
i confirm that theory. i caught cold so i slept all previous day and i had much of free time last night (i'm Euro) to check that rumors. items drop rates dramatically increased around 03:00 in the night (it's in 24h system, don't know how it is in am/pm system). i got same drop rate as adena until servers get down. last european day, looking at items count, drop rate was pretty poor like 1:4 or even 1:5.
I'm euro as MANY others are on my NA server, I pay £8.99 a month which is actually about $17 so I pay more than americans. Why am I so unfaily treated compared to american players for no apparent reason?
The droprates did indeed go up again last night, I couldn't stay awake so I got 4 american clannies all at different levels/spots to check for me.
Morning my time droprate was 1/10, overnight it was 1/2 consistently over 3 different hunt spots and different level ranges.
I've been getting clannies/friends to help me estimate droprates.
I got 4 clannies/friends in each timezone on bartz and 4 freinds on erica to tell me how many items they got off mobs.
In euro playtimes for past 2 days, 2 nights droprate has been an average 10% chance off mobs from lvl 40-80.
American time (1am-6am euro time) droprate has been roughly 70% off the same mobs in four different levels/areas since they kept parties going just simply swapped players.
So far this morning on bartz I've killed roughly 100 mobs and got 5 items..... where someone playing 4 hours earlier would have got about 70 items.
Why treat a large portion of your player base so disgracefully? I pay and contribute as much to this game as anyone else does so why am I being treated so badly?
Edit: my friend just msned me that he's got a 50% item droprate on Erica since servers came back up.... did they fix it apart from on Bartz?
I'm not thrilled either. I am on a euro server, but haven't been able to play during peak hours for the most part. I don't know why peak hours has to have the best drop rate (I know why they did it this way, I just don't agree that it's a good idea). It's weekend! Why discourage playing at night?
Stands to reason that if you can get 70% drop rates why bother taking the time to go to Fantasy Island and getting ONE transformation scroll. Then spend 10 minutes looking for the little chat signs of where they at and only be able to do ONE of the boxes. Then wait for tornado to reset and find another, that people just are not gonna go and do it. So drop the regular mob drop rates and MAYBE more will go. Total waiste of time!!!!!!
Because if you aren't playing at peak time, you're a bot.
you have no idea. it is possible if someone plays NA server, being a Euro oneself, so the one can play at server's peak time only in a deep night. same goes to Americans that are play EU servers.
I find it absolutely absurd that a massive portion of the game's population gets victimmised by severely decreased droprates for no apparent reason.
In my 7 hours of grinding I'd get what another player would get in one hour due to their timezone.
I accept scheduled siege times and olympiad times, even though it sucks it's already there and I can't complain, but to follow it through with droprates on items (Speaking to people I now have reason to believe all drops work this way) is verging on prejudice.
This is totally uncalled for and I'm sure if we started a petition poll there would be masses of people signing it... still no official responce either. :(
OK I was going to search through the threads from other events but then decided it not woth the time. Anyone in this game that has been playing for more than 6 months knows the drops rates go down during non peak hours. Coming on here acting all suprised and upset makes others wonder how you got to where you are in the game.
If your new to the game let me make this clear.
DROP RATES GO DOWN DURING NON-PEAK HOURS ON THE SERVER YOU PLAY ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No need for official statements, number crunchers, programers, coders or what ever else people think they need to play this game.

wow man, what a selfish....... "it doesn't affect me so stop moaning" attitude you have. I've been playing this game for about 3 years bro, that's how I got to where I am.
I've never noticed any reduced droprates before and it's not been brought to my attention through the forums.
So you say because it doesn't affect you it's perfectly fine that half of the players on a server have insanely restricted rewards for playing compared to other players simply because of the timezone that they play in?
As I've said plenty of times I pay to play this game along with everyone else who doesn't play 'peak' times... the european population of all NA servers is VERY high, just look at teon and franz.... they're full, and most euros didn't transfer to them or re-roll to them.
Because an issue doesn't affect you doesn't give you any right to come here flaming people and them telling them to shut up and deal with it. I hate ignorance.

It's not selfish its a fact.
I started playing L2 when Teon went live and played on Teon server. I lvl'd all the way to 61 on my glad which was alot harder than it is now.
Do you know why I don't play on Teon anymore? Because the times are EU and suck for me. So I moved to Devianne and started over.
Selfish is knowing in C2 that a new EU server was coming on line and not moving to it. Knowing full well the NA server you were on would always be messed up time wise. Then coming to the forums and complaining about the time. Thats selfish!!
Maybe I started before EU servers came up and didn't want to re-start on a new server when I could handle SET siege times which were a bit out of my timezone.
Events and itemdroprates however have NEVER been published as set times or set droprates. To do such that a mass amount of paying customers are singled out and suffer from worse rates due to their playtime is crazy.
I don't know how you justify it..... the way I see it is because it doesn't affect you and you moved because of timezones in the past then it makes it perfectly ok. Theres hundreds of EU players on all servers, why should the droprate change so dramatically?

I understand your frustration, Really I do. I also understand why they do this and I also understand why they do not officially state that they do this.
When it comes to event items, specially events where the drop periods are limited it is easy to tell that the rates go down during off peak hourse. During events where event items drop all the time for 1 or 2 weeks it's a bit more suttle when the drop rate changes. As for everything else that drops I have a suspicion the drop rates go down for everything during non-peak hours, but have never seen anything that really proves it.
Unfortunatley IMO and from what I have read, this is one measure that MMO's use to combat RMT. It sucks for everyone else and specially for us who have limited playing time. Even worse if that playing time is different from your servers peak time. I wish they didn't do it but I understand why they do. Doesn't mean I like it though.
The only thing that gets me is when people complain about it being used to punish EU or NA players. It has nothing to do with where you live and what server you play on. It's the same for all servers.
You have been playing this game for a long as have I. We have seen drops rates nerfed steadily in every chronicle. What has increased every chronicle? RMT. Unfortunatley alot of the measures they have implemented to combat it have hurt regular players more. Prices are insane now for just about everything. Raids drops are laughable for all but the higher lvl raid bosses.
Every event that has anything decent for prizes ends up having 2 specific complaints. Either its to hard to get the items to get the prises, or it's to easy and ruining the economy with to many items coming on the market.
Ok enough rants hope that clears up my point of view for you.
To me it gives the feeling that segregation of euro/usa servers is desired.
I suspect more Euros from the "usa" servers will move to the new European Server comming in April

I imagine they would. I wouldn't blame them either, as I wouldn't blane Na blayers if they transfered to NA servers. It is a pain to play a game where everything happens when you can't play.
It's plain stupid limiting event drops to peak hours. Like it was said, bots will have it's way playing 24/7, and legit players who can't play for some reasons during peak hours are severly punished.
I'd like the droprates normal all the time, and fighting with bots by banning them, week after week.
