as for reccomending a weapon, until you can get to 40 poling would be a good idea.. well its good after 40 too to be honest but i rather liked the idea of using my duals from 20-my current lvl lol. Poling is always a viable choice for a gladdie. While we're not great polearmers we're still better than most other classes at it, except those who get higher polemasteries than us
I used an AOBA to lvl my SwS up to 20. This was back in C3 I believe, so it might not work as well now. But it was awesome. She one shot every mob she hit. She did miss some, but overall it was still way faster than a no grade weapon.
More recently, a friend and I leveled our Kamaels to 20 using fists (his were S-grade, mine were A-grade.) Again, the mobs were down in 1-2 shots.
But if you don't have that kind of weapon available (my fists were a drop from FOTD, I didn't actually buy them) then I usually prefer top NG fists. I think they're called Viper Fangs. With all the alts I've made, I've gotten at least 10 of them as drops. I usually just sell them to the store but I've still got a couple of pairs around somewhere. I like them because they hit fast (and cuz I didn't have to pay for them. :p)

Yea it's not A or S grade but it has a lot of P attack.
I thought having a higher grade equipment are not allowed or would critically hinder your abilities. Didn't know having higher grade equipment is viable. So, can I just get a D grade weapon or C grade weapon?
you can, but the reason they suggested A and S grade is because there is a uniform penalty to your stats for all higher level gear. since S grade has the highest Patk, it offers the least penalty. this does not apply to Armor however, nor the SA of such weapons. you dont feel the effect of the armor bonus, and the SA is not applied.
what the previous posters FAILED to tell you is that buying S grade blunt to level yourself literally costs HUNDREDS of millions of adena. not something the average shmoe has.
Tartaros offered you the BEST advice for a fresh starting person. Daggers from 1-20, Polearms from 20-40, Polearm, Duals or 2hSword after 40.
the reason being: the majority of rerollers all say that using a Dagger from 1-20 is FASTEST (not cheapest but fastest) to 20. Polearms after 20 because you can level FAST and VERY CHEAP. Duals after 40 because your good skills use duals, your mediocre, less expensive, less complicated skills use non-duals (2hsword/blunt).
