Advice: SB or Zerker?

Kamael Classes Started Last reply 61 posts
Hi all :)
Ive been gone from game for about a year and a half now, but I just got too nostalgic and when I found out that the Kamael had been added to the game, I figured I had to give L2 another chance :)
I have a 62 BD but Id like to try making a Kamael soldier just to start off with something fresh.
Ive been doin searches on the web and on these forums, and theres actually very little which describes the differences in playstyle and I found nothing that really went in-depth. Just a bit under this post is a thread discussing them a bit, but I was curious if someone with experience who played with them on PTS or live could really give an in-depth description on what its like to use them. I think a lot of people would appreciate this as most classes have this already on their forums but since Kamael are still new, I feel a well-informed description is still lacking.
Personally my main questions are:
1. What are the roles for each class in a group situation? PVE/PVP. Judging by the list of skills, I dont really see why I would invite SB or Zerker into a group over any other DD class in game, although Im sure Im wrong, thats just cuz I dont get them yet :) BD, Sword singer, daggers, archers, wizzies all seem to bring more. Not to mention Tyrants or Destroyers.
2. What are the playstyles for each? Is Zerker really that dull to play? Basically just a 1,2,3 combo and hope that things land?
3. Although I do enjoy pvp, I prefer PVE generally, grouping is the best, but I often dont have time to go in groups so I solo a bit too. Which class sort of fits this pattern better?

In any case, Im at level 20 only still, so I have time to decide. It seems like a lot of fun, and Im looking forward to hearing what you guys have to say :) Thanks in advance!
1)
SB in PvE is like basic dagger using strong magic. Basically you use Soul of Pain to seriously damage the mob (~50% hp) and finish off with rapier. In party - you just swing your rapier and use magic to deal with tougher situations. Damage output is pretty nice, tho not that good as a reall dagger master. If your rapier is +4 or more then your party can be very happy to make use of the max ability buff, that you have the chance to land on whole party, since it removes mp consumption for most of the skills for a short time.

SB in group PvP bascially tries to stand aside near mages or archers and look for good opportunity to debuff enemies while throwing some occasional nukes. In large siege fields there is not much you can do, but in smaller scale encounters you can cause distraction or damage to enemy to some extent. Nothing very amazing unless you really know what are you doing.

SB in one-on-one PvP is either very strong or very weak. It depends on enemy class and your luck landing Death Mark. If you are ready (have souls and sword shield ready) SB is extremely deadly. Male SB's have Disarm level 1 which lands fairly often to turn the tide of the battle, since enemy usually does not expect that (its a berserker skill) and Steal Divinity means that enemy wont have a chance to use his special self buffs and he will never fight with full buffs against you.
You won't ever win against a Berserker or class, that has very good stun type attack tho (ie DA, Pal, archers can be tough if they land first stunshot).

Berserker (aka zerker) in PvE can dish out a high amounts of damage and is usefull for party because of his Violent Temper (I think this is the name) debuff, which costs very little mp to cast and works like Hex, just debuffs casting speed too. High power melee skills, mobile UD type skill.

Berserker in group PvP... Can't say much about that, never saw one in this type of action.

Berserker in One-on-one is, I would say, mediocre. I mean you have to have some skill to fight effectively. You have to rush in, then retreat in order to use your stun again, this is not always very easy. Disarm is a very powerfull skill, zerkers bread and butter.
Berserker generally owns mages and buffers hard in 1vs1 from what I can tell. This is because of their Violent Temper, which makes mages cry, and disarm + high power physical skills. If all your skills and souls are ready Berserker can be tough to defeat, but I can't say it for sure, since I do not play one.

2)
SB - supporting damage dealer. That means when in PvP it's generally good idea to stay away from fight and try to use your magic instead of melee skills. But when it comes to melee SB can stand his ground too. SB has good damaging capabilities for both heavy armor and robe users, since all his skills are very strong and effective. But he can't take heavy punishment and stun lands nearly 90% on him (as on every kamael).
SB has lots of very usefull skills enabling you to use varying combat patterns depending on situation. He can change the tide of battle in a few moments or die without even noticing that combat has begun.

Berserker is really far from "1,2,3 combo character" from what i can tell. He has really low hp and pdef, so you have to watch out. If you charge in to the middle of the battle blindly you wont get very far. Berserker is very good at eliminating mages and chasing down fleeing opponents.
Can't tell you much more of their way of battle, since, as I said before, I didn't have the opportunity to play one myself yet.

Berserker is better at solo and does nicely in groups.
Soul Breaker is better at groups, solo is hard for him past ~61 level. If you have oop support it is possible and not very hard.

________________

I play SB and really like him so far, but berserker looks cooler imo and has interesting abilities. Can't wait for my sub to get it (in a year or so...)

All this that I have written here is my personal experience, and I'm pretty far from endgame yet (61+), so it might change dramatically later.
Endgame soulbreaker with weapon enhanced by dark stones should be very deadly imo.
I tryed Both SB and Zerker on endgame on PTS (friends account for Zerker). SB is a fun class that has a lot of skills to play with and in the long run is more fun lvl. Zerker is just flat out a better class then SB at PVE/PVP. every say SB is like a dagger class but you convert a sword and not a dagger. it's more a critt type sword class then dagger class. 1 skill that can do a critt blow don't make a dagger class just a powerfull sword class. my 2 cents. ;)
SB is definitely not dagger class.
By saying that "SB is like basic dagger" I mean that they focus on critical rate, power and attack speed for their regular swings. PvP combat patterns are radically different from any dagger ofcourse.
Sorry if I was unclear in my statements.

Can you explain why Berserker is better at PvP, than Soul Breaker? Not to disagree with you, but that zerker can beat SB up doesnt mean that he is better.
So far I found my steal divinity, nukes and checkmate very powerful when combined in the right way. Not many classes can say that they can win against SB for sure.
And as I can immagine in endgame fights nukes are always > pure melee skills, as in a siege field I doubt zerker could do anything but standing and watching for most of the time. Not that SB could perform much better, but still.

SB is definitely not dagger class.

I said Zerker was better at PVP not SB. I have a lot of classes (my account is full and 1/2 my second) and so far a SB at same lvl can only beat my SE.

Tryant is no contest they own Kameals all of them. but Zerker and the Archer one are the only one that can at least get throu my cp more the zerker. The SB don't even come close before it's dead.

PR I can take on 2 SB same level in open field and kill them both.

Glad not even a fight.

DA same as Glad

BH SB does some damage but they spend most of they time stun not Zerkers are scary but once you get use 2 the disarm and they stun is Over pwered imo they still can't get thou all my BH hp and end up dead. I even went up againt an A grade Zerker and my BH only B grade and still won but only the fact I have ton hp saves meand stun land a lot.

I have yet to fight one with my PW they don't even mess with her.

SH owns SB not even a fight but the Zerker (stun) and ARcher ( Hits 2 fast) Kamael Owns SH.

WC same as my PW no kamael even mess with her.

SB is a good support class and just not made to solo pvp or even pve that well at 61+ and SB is a fun class they can do a lot of things. and they are loved at Raids.

In fact I hate to do a RB with no SB around.
"Beast Master" as title over the head of my SB isn't for no reason ya know ^^

/target Antharas
/useskill Peeee .. uh I mean Shadow Bind

LOL they always say that at Raids that the SB is peeing on the RB
Awww.. I've noticed that I've written SB instead of zerker and changed it before you posted, but I guess you were writing then already. Bah.

Can I ask what level are you with your Soul Breaker?
I am low A grade right now. Naturally, I havent done very much of a fighting, let alone endgame fullbuffed fights, but I should say, that I was able to defeat gladiator several times in a row (disarm landed couple of times and deathmark almost every time), SwS and BD can't do anything for me, I have defeated serveral archers (Rush ftw) but they had bad luck with stunshot. Dwarf can be a problem due to their HP pool and annoying stun, but I was able to win at about 2/3 of the fights I think. I can defeat summoner, but it's really tough and sometimes I kill him only to find myself unable to get rid f his servitor and die as well (yes, I am aware of the fact, that its not always the best to attack summoner himself first. It depends on their summons). I can't win against Berserker no matter what I am doing (~9 of 10 fights lost) and I dont believe I could defeat dark avenger or paladin. That's pretty much it of my PvP experience with SB.

Most of this was done outside arena, but since it was at high B / low A grades, it does not provide much confidence about engame fights, that are completely different however.

But I should say, that at least on 1vs1 SB is not THAT weak.
I think SBs are hard to use properly, and they definitely get A LOT more powerful at end-game. With Curse and steal divinity, fear, lose target nuke and powerful melee attacks like Check Mate. It's hard to know when to use what against what class.

K+ looks cool too for SBs :>
SB is not that week at all just who they are fighting are stronger. and if you beat a DA or Paladin tell them to reroll please because they have no Idea on how to play they class.

Most of the END Game Was done on PTS and watching high lvl SB on live. I know a lvl 76 SB personally. but my SB is only 40+ on live I'm more focus on my Arbalester don't plan on lvling the SB anymore that was mostly for clan points. When I sub my Arbalester I might go SB but I'm thinking heavy on Zerker for sub.

O and tell The Glad Reroll also. The Archer I can under stand if they fail stun they pretty much toast from any high damage class
I think that gladiator was ~ level 59 back then, so although I was pretty amazed that I was able to defeat him with little effort, I believe that in higher levels, when their skills becomes extremely powerful, I wouldn't last long enough to even finish casting death mark, so...

Still, I wouldnt really agree, that most of other classes are stronger than SB. Like Mulch pointed out, SB is just quite complicated to play - you really need to know in what order to chain your skills to get the best effect. About half of the existing classes are rather easy to defeat.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I can actually kill daggers. Well, maybe nothing special when at this level, but it was funny to duel with AW and win like all fights out of like twenty.
Yeah yeah, it was a duels and CP potion spam, QHP and etc changes everything, but it still was a suprise.

By the way, I still can't believe in level 1 Disarm landing rate. It lands like 2/3 times and when it does you can pretty much say that you won the fight (well, at least against some classes). Rush proves to be extremely useful too to catch fleeing enemy, or to close in instantly.

I feel sorry for female SoulBreakers as I fail to see how they can even come close to these two skills, not to mention lvl 1 mobile UD, that males have.
Thanks for your replies guys! Darkwind that was a pretty nice summary, at least Im starting to get a feel for how these guys work. Seem like pretty unique classes from what I can tell. So far Im leaning more towards Beserker but not 100% sure yet.
Any other info or comments is still greatly appreciated!

The PW lost?

tell that PW that he/she is unwelcome at the Mother Tree :p
First of all, Ashley, NO, I'm NOT replying to you. I'm using quick reply ;)

That said...

It depends on what you want. PvP wise, Zerker, hands down. Solo PvE, Zerker, hands down. Party-support damage dealer, SB. RB's nowadays MUST have a SB. I've seen shadowbind in action last night on an RB and I have to say it is the coolest thing I've ever seen (the same SB used it on Orfen the weeek before).

But that depends on what YOU want. You want a PvE and PvP capable toon? Zerker. You want to be able to play with friends and be a mixed fighter / nuker? Soulbreaker.
disarm and shoulder bash is hax! lands so much =O
LOL ok on the quick reply :)

O and I was at Orfen last week . What is your zerker name?

Did you come this Sunday she use it this time and saved a Bishop from getting owned.
I still refuse to agree, that zerker is so much better at everything but raids than soul breaker! :P

Well, I am not any PvP pro or anything, but out of all my fights I have won about 85% of them and the only time I felt unable to scratch an opponent and that I lost due to enemy strenght, not my mistakes on combat, was against Berserker.

I feel that I sound like fanboy now, but to be honest I was seriously thinking and rethinking my decision to go for Soul Breaker to the end instead of Berserker, but so far I'm at the conclusion that Soul Breaker in endgame should be much more versatile and, plainly, much more powerful than Berserker.

I am very interested in the opposite oppinions, since if I had to reroll, I better do it now, than at S grade. Even now, as I play market for my A grade and money, I am slowly raising Berserker alt to get the feeling of the class.

Since I am generally very incredulous about accepting others oppinions, I would like to see facts :)
Like what Berserker can offer better than attributed dark type nukes (at least 4 + wortex + debuff that decreases mdef by about ~25% (or decreases resistance to dark, not sure yet)), that even now, at these virtually low levels, are insanely powerful (even AoE) as for a "warrior"? I find Physical skills not enough. Especially when SB has checkmate, that equals in power with most devastating zerkers attacks. And on top of that goes fear and steal divinity, with shadow and voice bind as a bonus.
zerker only has disarm and stun, that might be complicated to use (I dont deny their power tho).

I fail to see zerker being more powerful than breaker so far. But those are theories. I would really love to hear about practical side of the things. But for that we would need endgame SB and zerker...
Those all seem like good questions actually Dark! I wouldnt mind seeing answers to those either...SB really does seem nice, although as I said, Im thinking of going Zerker myself atm :)
And just to add on those questions I had some more regarding troopers :P Got to lvl 24 today and gotta say Im loving this new race so far.
I didnt quite get what death mark does tho. Nor did I understand what Dark Blade does later on when we get that. And does disarm work in PVE? That would be really nice although I somehow doubt it :P
Again, thanks for all the help so far...just tyin to really understand the class as it seems a lot more complicated and situational than the other ones Ive played so far.
I beat an A grade SB with a B grade TH and had 3/4 hp left and so many buffs gone :( but hey I won easily as switch target works good to get close to em without getting debuffed/nuked. But I never fought an A grade Berserker, I hope to soon, see how good they are in their prime time.
Well, I'm sorry, I can't see a Soul Breaker being as good as a Zerker in both PvE and PvP due to their skills, simply put, and the inconsistency of the rapier damage. But here we go:

Let me make a list. PvE:

- Violent temper - like hex, but better. Not only it lowers the Pdef but also the casting speed; Stun. AOE attacks. Self Zerk. Better levels of Kamael UD. Several different melee skills, including very very powerful AoE skills (Slashing blade, Storm Assault for example). Self Might 2 buff, self crit buff (lowers pdef, but you crit like an archer), Strike back (mobs can kill themselves if you're lucky), self mdef buff.

- From lvl 60 on - Crushing pain. Violent temper + crushing pain and you can one-shot most of 1x mobs at around your level. Checkmate depends on Death Mark. Death mark doesn't enter, you can't use Checkmate (for soulbreakers). Not the same with Crushing Pain. From lvl 64 on - Crushing pain AND Contagion, both with the same attack power. Contagion does need a bleed, but we Zerkers get Blade Rush, which is an AoE bleed.

There is absolutely no way that a Soul Breaker is going to be more powerful than a Zerker in both solo PvE and PvP. A Soulbreaker is definitely a wonderful class to have in parties for so many reasons, but in higher levels, a Zerker would ALWAYS have an advantage over a SoulBreaker in so many ways.

And no, Checkmate isn't equal in power as Crushing Pain. Crushing pain does more damage AND doesn't depend on any other factor to land. Not to mention 10 seconds cooldown. Checkmate will ALWAYS take longer because you need to land Death Mark, which takes longer.

And if a Zerker loses against a soulbreaker, it's only because he doesn't know anything on how to play his own class. There's no way a Zerker should lose to a Soulbreaker. Against an Arbalester, it could very well happen. Against a Soulbreaker, nope.

Now...

To the OP:

- Death Mark is a Soul breaker debuff that does damage over time and lowers their pdef (not sure if it does anything else though).

- Dark Blade adds a Dark attribute to your attacks. You should ONLY use it if you're hunting in an area that has holy mobs, you'll see an increase in your normal hits of at least 100 damage per hit. But be careful that if you have Unholy mobs around, dark blade will lower your damage against them also by a 100. So, for example, if you're hunting in a Catacomb, toggle the Dark blade against the Gigants or Nephilims, and untoggle it when you're fighting everything else.

- No, Disarm doesn't work on mobs. I think it should though :P

PS: Ashley, I didn't make it to Orfen, and the timeslot is VERY bad for me. Don't think I'll ever make it if the time isn't changed :/
Great, thanks a lot once again!
Really glad I made this post as Im finally getting to get some real info :)Im sure future players new to the Kamael race will appreciate these answers too!
Been checking out death mark and from what I can tell it definitely seems to increase my damage on the target. Im hitting for about 40 more damage per hit on average including special skills (at lvl 24). They definitely die a lot faster.
Also...was wondering about strike back. How does that work? Never seems to land on mobs although I usually fight yellow mobs. Maybe it depends on the level...
Death Mark has a pretty high land-rate, once it's landed you can almost chain Check Mate and Shining Edge 3-4 times EACH before Death Mark fades.

Remember that Check Mate can skill crit for 2x, 3x AND 4x damage! I've crit equal level and 4x HP mobs for up to 6.5K damage on several occasions at level 60 and under. Shining blade seems to crit as well.

Note on Deathmark, it reduces both pdef and mdef + adds a DoT.

IMO Kamaels are very interesting and fun classes to play and probably just about anyone will like them except a healer or a tank i suppose.

Berserkers are agressive attackers that has to stay on top of the enemy chaining skills. They don't seem to have that many different playstyles.

Arbalesters are archers with some good traps and skills.

Soul Breakers have a very varied playstyle. Regular melee with powerful skills. Nukes that gets a nice boost in K+ with Vortexes and what not. They can also buff Dark Weapon and Shield, plus debuff and steal (cancel) up to 7 buffs from anyone! They will make any raid a bit easier with their Shadow Bind. Quite a few tricks up their sleave, but I would imagine the hardest of the Kamael classes to play properly.

It really comes down to playstyle. If you just want to PWN almost everything, go play a nuker/archer/dagger.
My zerker is lvl 41 at the moment, and let me tell you how much i enjoyed only 1 xfer quest :-). I've got plated leather and +4str/-4 dex tat... +6 Sabertooth and i seem to output a lot of damage. My problem is this: I've played a blade dancer to high 50's and i'm tired of being a glass cannon. I started an orc raider (to go destroyer) and i seem to hit about as hard as the zerker did at equal level, but have almost twice the hps. seeing as i solo a lot, i'm thinking it might be better for me (and lots of the zerker gear i can xfer to orc including the plated leather actually) disarm is cool as well as the rush type attacks, but i'm thinking that maybe the orc is better in pve and pvp (solo) due to the high con and the use of heavy armor. anything anyone wanna mention that i'm over looking to sway me to keep zerker? it seems that relying on souls can suck (don't have gather yet, but i hear its like a 10+ min cooldown) also in the LONG LONG LONG run... All Kam's lvl 79 skill seems to be a Sell freaking debuff :(

I wanna keep the kam, caues the 1wings are cool but i'm just not seeing it at the moment...
Kamaels look hotter than Orcs. The armors look better. And their fingers move.

Those are really the only reasons I'd give you to choose a Kamael from a non fan-girl point of view, I particularly wouldn't trade my Kamael Berserker for a Destroyer at any point. There's fact that the class is very cool to play (in my opinion) and it actually takes thought and planning to actually be successful in anything (Meaning it's not just push-click-hit rinse and repeat).

If that doesn't really matter to you, then perhaps a Destroyer is a better choice if you really want to completely own solo in PvP and in PvE, and if you don't want to put too much thought in what you're doing. Kamaels are too balanced to own everything on their own.

And apparently the Final Form's being tweaked in the next update so it won't be so freaking useless.
strikeback will counter attack melee attack skills, i haven't used it lots so can't tell ya much more
Soul breakers are just not strong, I've never yet lost to one even one higher level and/or better equiped than me. I've never fought a highler level arblestor or a Zerker. But, I played a Zerker on test server into the higher levels and I must say even in no ++ed gear and stuff, They still own. In PvP it was so much fun bumrushing the jerks that messed with me and my cuzes while we were leveling. and a group of kamael is highly dangerous which was the outlook NCSOFT was looking for. To have the kamael work together to fight because alone they don't stand as much of a threat but together they are dangerous and not to be held lightly.

However how I see it

Zerker>Arb>SB

Zerker>Arb>SB

Agreed ;)
Not going to say much because I'm a female Soul Breaker except wait for Kamael Plus. Thats when Soul Breaker's strength will really show if the translated patch notes for it are accurate.
SB will deffently make a bigger impact in K+ with new vortex and other spells. i still see them being a pain in the [censored] if u play them right, which i don't really think anyones quite figured out the best way to use one for pvp.
However thats for 77+ SB's which will have so few of, and even then all the kamael are getting boosted and vortex's with such little damage output will not save you. Your basically just trying to imitate a nuker but I bet If you put a SB and any nuker again'st it The nuker will kill the SB before it can even cast vortex.
SB skills have really fast cast speed compaired to normal nukers. and SB hit for a fairly good amount of damage with self buffs like pride of kamael and its dark atribute boosters.
I've yet lost to a SB, I alas have lost to a Arbelestor...
what class do ya play?
I play a DA as a main, and i use a TH, zerker, SH, and tyrant for quick 1v1 pvps that I don't care much for.

what class do ya play?

Well, my main IS a Zerker and I find it hard for him to actually lose against an SB. An Arbalester might be a little trickier, though.
i have beat equal lvl zerkers easy. but i can't seem to beat human knights. **** shield stun.
Yeah, I don't think it's really possible to beat a tank with Shield Stun. Especially for us, Zerkers. We disarm them, they laugh at you and stun you until they can beat you up.

DA's are even worse with Shackle, you can't kite them so well.

And you're a SoulBreaker? I repeat, I find it hard for a Zerker to be beaten by a Soul Breaker if the Zerker plays his skills well.
I've never lost to any kamael on my DA. it's too easy.
trick is to let them get close and use dark flame, gives plenty of chance to debuff and nuke them. finish up with checkmate when they finnally are able to return fire.
Ok, here I am with a few questions again :)
Ive got to lvl 38 now, so the grand decisions coming up, and I was 99% sure Id go Zerker (even had my C grades and spell books for him) but a now Im wondering about some more technical stuff.
First big thing to notice was when I stopped getting haste, vr, and healing cubic. Without the buff that gives you extra HP Ive got around 1k and its kinda sad really. 2 hits and Im dead almost :P Was a hard hit to lose those buffs, but thatd be the same with any class Im pretty sure :P
Ok, no problem, I have a BD so I know what thats like. But BDs do have heavy armor too. It seems odd to have a fighter class that uses light armor, -50% healing, no evasion buffs or passives, and incredibly low HP. How can they survive like that? Even BDs have 1 more CON point, heavy armor, self buffs, drain health, no healing penalty.
I was just doing a comparison and human fighters start off with 1 point less in STR, 3 points less in DEX, but 11 points more in CON. That means theyre receiving a lot more points in combat stats than Kamael overall.
Although combat stats (STR, DEX, CON) are quite low overall for Kamael compared to other races as showed above, they stand out in INT. Now what Im wondering is how that is useful for a Zerker. Not really from what I can tell except for maybe violent temper. Thats 1 skill. Maybe Im wrong though Im just speculating.
High INT is perfect for a SB, but its a totally useless stat for a Zerker unless Im missing something. Ive checked and there are no dyes we can use to change that either. Basically. Zerkers have 29 points in a stat they cant use and they have very low CON (-1 compared to DE, -4 compared to elves, -11 compared to humans, dont need to mention orcs or dwarves).
True that DE have it similar to Kamael (around the same stats pretty much) but all DE fighters get drain life, ice bolt, hex, etc which depend on INT so it can come in useful for them. Magic is a part of their attacks. Same with SB. Not so with Zerkers.
Unless Zerkers do humongous amounts of damage very fast, how can they possibly survive or solo well? They cant heal themselves, and they have very little survivability. I ask because I wouldnt mind choosing a character which has at least some soloing capabilities. INT just doesnt fit into the Zerker's role.
So my question is...how is it that I keep reading that Zerkers can solo well? Am I wrong and is INT more useful than I thought? Stats seem to be built for a more mage-like warrior really (for example Soul Breaker), whereas from what I can tell so far Zerker is more up and close combat. Are there any ways this can be worked around or stats improved in any way?
Thanks again in advance and looking forward to any ideas or suggestions :)
BD don't get armor mastery beyond level 36. With Theca and BW light you can have more P defense then a BD in heavy armor. And you will always have more M defence.
dont get crit reduce tho
don't think BDs do either, i believe the crit damage reduction doesn't apply to pre 40 heavy masteries.
it does
I have no idea what any of that about crit reduction stuff is above :P
Good point about the armor masteries tho Ashley.
Im still wondering what a close up fighter like a Zerker is supposed to do with mage-like stats (31 CON and 29 INT). 29 INT for what? And from what I can tell you cant change the INT with tats for MEN which would at least give some M.def and mana. Like I said above...stats seem quite beneficial for a SB but not at all for a Zerker.

If I'm not wrong, INT controls Mdef too, Kamaels are naturally mdef resistant, and they have a passive that raises it too.

And trust me... A Zerker doesn't only have mage stats. 41 strength is the highest one with DE's. Once you get to a higher level, past 60, you get two skills that will allow you to one shot or max two shot mobs (providing they're 1x, of course), Crushing Pain at 60 and Contagion at 64 (you need bleed to land for Contagion)... With Violent Temper (debuff that decreases pdef and casting speed), I can do like 3000 damage on a catacomb mob my level easily. Plus, stun rush, 4 AoE skills (slashing blade, spread wing, Blade Rush and storm Assault) that do around 700-900 damage to each one of the mobs, and a mobile UD... Plus a self Zerk toggle, a crit toggle (decreases your pdef a lot, recommendable only if you're in party with someone taking all the damage), should I go on?

If you're soloing without buffs, then you just need to be careful what place you pick. But if you're soloing on 1x mobs, with violent temper + Crushing Pain you'll be one-shotting a lot of the mobs. 10 seconds later and the skill is reusable.
Hmm ya thats what I keep hearing...that they do massive damage which saves their butts from their lack of survivability :P
Was just a little surprised at base stats cuz they seem odd for a fighter...DEs use magic in their attacks but Zerkers dont. Sounds like it all works out tho in the end :)
Wondering if getting a -2STR +2CON and -2DEX +2CON would help give me more survivability. Seems like massively damaged skills should make up for slightly weaker hits.

That's because they can turn into a mage like class, seriously think things through. Think about why certain things are the way they are before you go complaining about them. They have 29 int so the few that go soulbreaker can do more damage with a nuke than they do with a regular hit. Also Int is not for m def, it's for attack and debuff land rate. Men is for m def.
sorry but INT has noting to do with M defence

and if you want see the diffrence at END game. get on PTS and make a lvl 82 SB and lvl 82 Zerker. only takes a few secs make then a few hours to get skills and gear :p
Ty for the extra info guys ;) ya im sure INT doesnt affect m.def unfortunately cuz I checked on stratics. Only MEN does.
Knight I guess you misunderstood me completely cuz I wasnt complaining, I was pointing out facts related to the stats of a Zerker ;) And I wasnt saying that anything should be changed either. Pointing out questions or doubts in the forums should be what this is all about :)
I said that INT was useless for Zerks as far as I could tell and I was wondering how that could be helped and if I was wrong about it being useless for Zerks "only", not SB. Zerk is a close up fighting class and not a nuker so the low CON and high INT didnt make much sense (if INT is good for SB great, it doesnt seem to be much help to Zerk). But Valerie, Ashley, etc. pretty much explained that they do enough damage to make up for lack of CON, thx :)
Thought I might get a useful bit of advice before doin the class quest ;)
one thing to note, regardless which path u choose, if ur sticking with the toon for a long time ur stuck going with the other for a sub anyway.

I understand that, but I'm just pointing out that they have that high int for their Soulbreaker counterparts and low con cause...they don't take in enough iron? However it is unfortunate that the kamael cannot change their "magic stats" cause it would be so nice for a zerker to dump all that int and wit into their men. But sadly it's impossible, but that's the reason for the high int low con, class changing doesn't change those stats.
Or wear Heavy Armor. That alone would make things better already.

But Zerkers deal damage. A lot of it, especially past 60+. But they are relatively squishy as all the Kamael classes are, don't expect any of them to have high degrees of survivability that you can get ganked by 5, 6 mobs and survive without buffs.

But... if you pick your hunting area properly, you will be leveling rather fast.

Um kameal's can't wear Heavy Armor at all
Christ! I know Ive just started but Zerkers truly are insane :)
Not bad so far in pvp (even against tanks, tho I have yet to win, but it does get close) and insane in PVE. What a difference from my BD :) Fun, playable class with plenty of options. Really curious to see how it will continue to develop.
Does any1 know what stat affects stun in shoulder charge? If any...
I got -3STR and -1DEX in exchange for CON dyes. I know this wouldnt be most peoples choice, but Ive always prefered a certain degree of survivability, so for me personally, its better so far.
To be honest, as of yet. it has helped more than not. Damage done is not diminished much since Kamael skills are so damage based . One thing Ive noticed though is that stun rate seems to have lowered a bit. Is that possible?
don't mess with tattos on kamaels they are fine just as they are.

Um.. you didn't grasp the meaning of my post... I have a lvl 61 Kamael, don't you think I know they can't wear Heavy Armor? I was saying that if they could, that would make things better already.

And not true for the tattoos. I have a -DEX +CON on my Berserker and the -dex doesn't do any visible difference in speed or anything at all. I wouldn't mess up with STR though. Their main point relies on their STR, why mess up with that?

But the +CON - DEX gives more hitpoints and I'm very very happy with it.
your a Berserker I just can't see doing that 2 my Arbalester (Archer)
hello again
