Since the transfer system availability some servers (lionna,siegarth etc) see their player population reduced to some groups.
Towns are mostly deserted (dion & giran)
Less & less players are selling among the traditionnal & eternal bot groups and the prices are higher and higher for the few things they purpose now ... going to kill the game itself !
So I would like to know what NC SOFT who may already thought about it is going to do for the last players on such deserted servers.
Will NC SOFT is going to close servers and mix population or are they just waiting we pay to move too or what ?
As I previously said,I would like to move into a european server but the transfer system is expensive and not complete : you loose all your inventory and warehouse so I think I'm gonna stop completely if it continues.
Not really, it was their choice to move and accept the inventory thing. If you get merged you don't have a choice in the matter. Not to mention, who will you sell your extra gear to? Everyone else that has to sell their gear or lose it too?
The point still remains that if you paid to transfer then you CHOSE to move to another server with the item restrictions in place. If they ever merge the servers, those getting merged HAVE NO CHOICE in the matter. So, no, you wouldnt be screwed by NCSoft. You would have chosen your fate. Besides no one would buy anything on a server that will be merged since it will all be deleted anyway. If you chose to transfer you can sell it, no matter how cheap and still make at least something for it.
Yes but that's still a choice you made given the restrictions.
My point is, how much would my extra gear, materials, recipes, accessories be worth to all the other people that also need to sell the same gear, materials, etc? Not a **** thing. Unless we got a magic influx of rich naked noobs that needed the mass of unwanted gear pre-merge. Even that would make recipes/materials and such a complete and utter loss.
Just start again on a new server. That way you retain everything you worked for and have the challenge of developing a new char on the new server.
The other option is to pass your items to another of your chars on your current server and maybe create a lvl 1 clan for the extra storage for the items you don't take with you.
I hope the new Luna server has no transfers. Everyone on Luna should start from zero.

i paid 150$ to transfer 3 characters worth of gear. if servers merge, goodbye. i DID NOT WANT to play old server. being forced to after having paid serious coin is NOT my choice.
yeah, it WAS nice. i like having those toons in my new server. i took them OFF my old server cause i wanted to play them with my friends.
now that my 150$ is gone, it would be nice to see that the changes i made to my account were permanent. i dont want to go back.
if, however, i can no longer say where i get to spend my time and my new server stuff gets BAL33TED in merging by force, youll see 4 less people on an otherwise twice-as-populated server.
When the servers merge and you leave, can I have your stuff?
LOL, I find this a funny gripe, seeing as the merges would be caused by the same people who moaned about not being able to transfer. Maybe if you had worked at making your server better and more fun instead of just wanting to run away it wouldn't come to this. Besides, you got what you paid for, you moved to be with your friends, in the end isn't that who'll be with regardless of server merges?
erm no as you still have the option to transfer to a different server AFTER the merger is done so if you don't like the "new and improved" server after a merge just transfer..
well merging would be silly and well inconsiderate, seems the logical choice would be to close a server then offer a free transfer to all acounts to a server of their choice that isnt full at the time and with no item limits, any inactive accounts are just stored until reactivated and then prompted to pick a server if they ever return.
It would make sense. preserve bots communities completely, just introduce them to eachother.
the downsides of merging (castle- and clanhall-ownership) is gonna be a problem if you close it too.

that's a rediclious comparison and you know it... at least you should....
Ncsoft launches a wanted service....
you paid you money for the service... and you got it.... so you paid for your burger and you received it.. and are eating it as we speak...
IF at anypoint, they merge the server.. with another server that you may or may not have been previously part off.. that's not ncsofts fault at any time... nor is it completely your either... quit find a place to pin the blame.... You made a choice, it's always a gamble.. there is a chance that it may still play out in your favor or not... who knows.. with the remerge.. you may be even happier. Quit living in the past, you can't change it now...
And the old server if merged.. won't be the same server at all.... so i'm not sure what your problem is.
merging me back to the same people i was attempting to move away from is beyond not-helpful.
i moved servers counting on not being able to go back. its undone = no point in me staying. period. and yes, you also can have my stuff, after all, youll be on my server.

yeah, a merged server would be nothing like the original 2. there would be a whole new political situation, the people you enjoyed playing with after you transfered the first time would still be there. Its not like they are moving you back, they are just combining the servers, which means stuff will be ENTIRELY different on the server.
I'm still not with the OP on the initial premise of his comment--including Lionna as essentially a server with no one left on it.
So far Lionna's population is just fine. We lost some players but I don't get the sense it was 200 or more.
Giran looks like Giran and Dion looks about like Dion looked.
Markets are changing but still exist. Many players still there. New competition for castles (and drama--lol).
Less competition atm for some popular hunting areas.
I'm not at all unhappy with Lionna and don't want to see it merged in any way.
NCSoft is NOT discussing server mergers. As far as we know they are giving mergers no consideration whatsoever.
The people who like uncrowded servers, of which there are many, are quite happy to have seen transfers off their servers. I know on mine (Erica) many of the jerks/griefers left and the 'heavy servers' are welcome to keep them.
I suspect this topic is dredged up by people who have experienced other games and who have not kept up with L2 discussion. The 'mergers' issue has been discussed to death, several times, so *I wish upon a star* that people would quit bringing it up.
We don't know whether NCNA (sorry, that should probably ne NCKorea) are considering server merge software or not. And trying to second-guess these two companies is an exercise in futility as they rarely follow any kind of logic. They may post a comment at close of business today that Sieg is being merged with Bartz and it wouldn't surprise me.
As for not being fair to people who paid to transfer.......that's life, get over it. If you buy a house and the price of it valued the next month at $1000 higher, do you go and offer the extra money to the vendor? No. If the house next door goes for less do you go and ask for a refund? No.
You make a commitment at a point in time based on the information available. It's just tough cookies if that proves not to be beneficial to you in the long run.
Please relax, Spudnick. NCsoft has not said server mergers will occur. If they do, they would not do so in a way to anger those they have just accepted money from to transfer away from a server they are being merger with.
You are worrying about an event that there is no indication will occur at all, and then worrying about a specific, foolish way, such an event may occur. This is not something you should be getting upset about now. Try to enjoy your new server and your friends..
Ahehe! Now a lot of Euros went away. What do you have in yours amazing NA servers (beside bartz of course)? Emptiness, swamp and desert. Now think what will happen to your servers at that moment when we will have Luna up. I predict any mobile Euros will leave their caves and deserts to make some fun and load to Luna. I mean your server remains of 500 online ppl would be optimistic estimation. So be prepared to turn to bartz or luna direction until it's not late and you can sell your stuff at any acceptable price.
Short version: What is desert, it will become even more desert. What is overloaded, it will become even more overloaded.
