hello everyone i just have a quick question i want to start a buffer///healer i like the idea of both i want to buff then again i want to heal. what im asking is just i just pick a class that just buffs or one that just heals or one that has both if there is one so plz help thax :D
I usually give at least some buffs as bishop, Body of Avatar if no PP around or if nobody has a SOES with BtB SA, ww/zerk1/hw depending on the situation. Bishop is an awesome class to play and I wish it was my main these days(well, almost anyways) :)
but are bish hard to lvl since they do just heal????
"just heal"???? Slap this person... KoS!!!
They aren't hard to level... especially if there is a decent clan they are in, or melees around. They have basic buffs, but I agree with the poster up there... EE for heals and buffs. I <3 EEs, they are fun to play... But Bishops, once they get higher levels especially, are a lot more interesting to play.
The place that undeads are sparse is in the 40s, but after that, there are nice places, like the cemetary, etc. And once you can do the 70s rift, you can duo with an EE. You can solo if you are uber good, but much easier with EE that has turn undead along with you.
Bishop or EE if you like the healing role, but also would like to throw a few of buffs. I love my bishop for this. I tend to party with warcryers, so I buff holy weapon (when appropriate), body of avatar, ww and zerk. This is great for me. Playing a pure (single target) buffer = death, for me. I could not imagine anything more boring.
LMAO! Buffs get real. If you want Buffs and Heals SE not EE
Well, Im not telling that EE's buffs are better than SE's, but I think that EEs heal quite better ^^ So, since EEs have also some nice buffs (rather defensive, but nice aswell!) I dont see where the problem is :P
Personally I preffer SE, but if the player desires to buff and heal, I think that EE is better choice. Greater heal is not that good compared to Major Heal ^^
But well, maybe both would work well, dunno!
Almarë
Edit: If he's going to box the buffer, yeah, SE. :/
I had both a High level EE (Amazon) and SE (AshleyHunters) on my main Account and a SE (WhatMeWorry) on my Second Account.
EE are fun as hell compared 2 SE's and have better heals but no Greater Group heal like SE and EE have piss poor buffs compared 2 SE's. They have a Few good ones but on the Whole I will take SE buffs over EE any day except if I was like A Tank Class with a Shield.
CT1 came out and I wanted a Kamael but all my slots were full with all 60+ alts.
My opinion : it's not very fun to buff. You do it and that's all. Healing is great fun. So Bishop rather than another. EE is nice too.
While soloing (or duoing as a DD) with Bishop is an heresy, it's possible against undead and is expensive.
SE is good for duo with nukers, but seriously who ask for a Greater Group Heal in a serious party? HoT is seriously annoying! EE has Major Heal, that's why they're still seriously useful in serious parties. Be serious!
AS for bishops - any bish that know what he's doing is always welcome in my party, but most of them don't know sh it about their toons. I've meet 1 (namely ONE) bishop that could do his job, rest of them were dumb as hell

So what?
What can we answer? You attract fools?
:)
There's no IQ test to become Bishop. By trolling on this forum, you can only hurt all the bishops who care about their class. So... we're confused. Is that a warning that we're dumb, a threat that you won't trust Bishops anymore?
It's not that. The reason I mentioned the above was to clearly show everyone that skilled bishop do not have a problem finding a party. They are apriciated for both their heals and their buffs. And I dont remember telling anyone that bishops are dumb in general. Only that it's kinda hard to become a skilled one. If you wuold just take your time to know your toon you wouldn't have to use such strange parties as duo cardina in Pagans :)

The affirmation in bold is not true. There are parties that don't need any healer. And players prefer to pick up the available bishops at the time they're creating the party and not wait on the queue to party with the Bestest Bishop Of The Server. Most of bishops will do fine. I can't draw figures about what % is dramatically unskillful, but it seems there are parties going on in Pagan, IT, FoG, Rift... so they're doing their job.
I don't think duoing between Cardinals in Pagan means anything about skills in party. It only means the motivation to become Cardinal is rather... questionable. Don't get me wrong, it must be fun to try. But if you choose healer to go for the kill, alone or duo, you may have been dropped when you were a baby.
I love that bishops are as flexible as they are. I have a great time playing as a healer in groups, as well as soloing with either MoH or turn undead. It's nice to have a choice :)
I'm not ruling out the possibility that I may have been dropped on my head as a baby.
Hey folks... I am noob... I admit... but I try to learn as much and as fast about the game as I can... I level a Hawkeye 46 now... and started wondering which class to sub...
I thought I'ld like someone who is needed and is no warrior class... and the first thing I found most interesting was the bishop... what do ya think?
Do you folks get often into raids?
I mean.... I saw tons of Dark Elven Silicon Box-Slaved Buffers around... but healers are most of the time needed and I never seen a boxed one... is this a needed prof?
Does it make sens to sub it? Is the play-style really so diffrent as I hope for (compared to fighters)?

I would not characterize a Cardinal duo in Pagan's as a "strange party". While it is an unusual party, that may be because there are not many Cardinals around (and some of them are not competent enough to do high level duos in places like Pagan's). So rather than "strange party" I would think a better description would be "Kick Azz Rare Party".
The downside is its expensive since you have to use a lot of soul ore. In fact, you use so much that you have to resupply periodically even when you are carrying as much as you can without penalty.
The upside is that there may be no other duo which can exp as fast in the mid to high 70's.
I will quickly admit that I have not experienced very many of the possible duo combinations at that level, much less all the possible exp spots of the possible duos. But consider that they are 4x and 5x high 70s mobs which die to cardinals in two casts (turn undead, might of heaven) or one cast (depending on your enchantment on turn undead). Virtually all other toons have to physically kill the mobs, beating down the HP through repeated attacks whether you are an archer, mage of melee.
Those of you who have hunted in the pits in Pagan's know that it is a fast respawn area, yet Cardinal duos sometimes have to stand around waiting for spawns.
So, sir, I take mild umbrage when you say that I ought to "take my time to know my toon." Perhaps when you know your Cardinal well enough you will also be able to duo at Pagan's. Though I do agree that Cardinals/Bishops are great and well valued by informed players.
There're not needed at lower levels, so if you don't have enough opportunities by clan or friendlist, you will have a hard time finding a party. Rift helps, but not that much on lower levels.
Now if they aren't needed, they can help, so friends won't spit on you.
I won't advise solo, but that's what chose some of our clan sub-bishops. But they are sub-bishops, and I haughtily look my nose down at them, of course! :p

Wow. Just wow. I love being a bishop for many, many reasons. But you purists just make me laugh when you say things like this. lol.
I don't suppose you've heard the L2 saying of "Hell hath no fury like a Healer subbed" ??? Because it's the truth. After so much "helplessness" in all those parties it took you to get to 75 so that you could sub, usually healers take on some sort of damage dealer.
For me the rift is pretty nice way to while away the hours between groups, and the xp is phenomenal -- not to even mention the volume of lifestones and EASs that drop. Pagan's is great too, in the front rooms. The duo in the back room is pretty good too, but you need some sort of regular DD for the Triol's. Funny thing is, the DDs whine when the undeads get feared.
