Attitudes and Economy

More than likey, I should not even be speaking on this as I have only been in game a short while now. I am still learning the ropes and what have you. But one thing has, well two actually, come to my attention.I rummaged through the seemingly infinite number of threads on weapons, armor, jewelry and other prices for things, and then went sauntering around to look at prices and put them at a side-by-side comparison. Prices have gotten ridiculous for items. Here is an example.

I came upon a shop selling a SLS*SLS, unenchanted for 122 million. Absurd. I diddle dattled along and came upon another selling a +4 SLS*SLS for 220 million. Again, absrud. I went looking about once more in hopes to find SOMETHING with in reasonable prices and I came upon a set of Blue Wolf Heavy Armor Complete Set with a price tag of 30 million dollars. I inquired about buying it, only to find the seller forgot to include a ( 1 ) before the rest of the numeral for a staggering grand total of 130 million dollars.

I would just like to ask to those, who you know who you are, what in the bloody hell are you thinking? I can guarantee you more people would buy more of your economically tarted up crap if you would stick a price tag on it that people could actually afford. Keep in mine new players are coming onto the servers EVERY day and with prices like those they don't stand a fighting chance. Sure E-Bayers can buy that stuff without even a second though with their jillions of accumulated dollars. But for honest players with good intent who work hard for what they have, stop trying to scam them/ rip them off and charge them both arms, legs and their left freaking breast for items that do not even come CLOSE to the 100 million mark.

(Since I am a GM and not an editor, I have removed this paragraph entirely. Please do not avoid the chat filter.) Feel free to add what ever you want back with exception of the bad language. TY. ~spam
Wow what server are you on that a 20-30 mil weapon goes for 122 mil
Your on a dead server more then likely then.

Move to a server that has more population and you'll find a stable economy.
Those prices are outrageous! What server are you on?

As far as the market, people kind of need to charge what they can get so they make profit. They need to equip their own characters too... but 122 million for clean SLS*SLS, no sir!
I bought SLS*SLS a week or two ago for 35m and full blue wolf heavy set for about 25m.

I think it is just the event that is causing inflation. Being able to sell those pieces for 30-40k each means everyone is rich right now, and so people think they can cheat the market.

I would just wait a week or two and hopefully the economy will settle again.
Well, its not Erica thats for sure. Duals Sammys are 40m and that is the asking price.
I would suggest crafting. I crafted my FB for less than 90m. It took me 2 weeks to get the mats, but it was worth it.
I am on Erica. Granted there are a FEW people that sell for what is supposed to be sold for the price, and now and again you catch them. Yesterday in Giran, the taxes were virtually 0 and the prices fell for like 3 hours and then poof. They hiked right back up. Occassionally you get someone who is desperate for money and wants to sell for a nice low price in which I am all about ( should I feel bad about that? ) and buy. I am not saying that all the people on Erica do this, but ****it, ALL the ones that shout out and wanna sell have absurd prices. Aertillian is always good with his prices and that little dwarf makes money like you wouldn't believe, I don't know how he does it.

But still the fact remains, I wanna buy some SLS*SLS but I am restricted to do so because of the prices that they are sold for.
Make a dual SLS, buy D crystals for 550, C for 2500, buy 2 of the highest C swords you can get from the lux shop. Take them to mammon and upgrade them to SLS. Go to Aden and make them duals. Total cost wil be about 24-30 mil.

Whoa, wait a minute, so what!

Just don't pay it or find someone who will sell at a reasonable price. It's an open free market. I should be able to shout out that I'm selling Top No Grade for 500 million.

Doesn't mean that anyone in their right mind will buy it.

I also have the right to buy up a variety of items and inflate the prices as I see fit. That's what having an open free market is about.

You as the consumer need to make the correct decisions, find sellers that give you better prices.

Keep in mind that at the start of this game, a demon staff (lol.. does anyone have one of these anymore?) Top C grade Staff was going for 14 to 16 million. The prima guide (which you might not be aware of, but there was a prima guide for L2) listed it for about 7 million.

so right there, you get prices inflated because the market allows it. I have no idea what a top C grade staff would cost now (or even what is considered a top C grade staff?) Do people buy ghoul staves anymore?
I sold a ghoul staff not long ago, but I haven't seen a demon one in use in ages. Not when everyone uses a homu or mysterious sword with acumen.

But what Sovrath said, can't afford it, think it's crazy, don't buy it. If no one bought that stuff they'll have to lower their price. If someone does buy it, more power to them. No one said in an open market you have to regulate your prices.
LOL yea Find some people that not trying scam we have 1 guy here on Lionna that sell D grade crystals for 1200a. I think he still thinks he on PTS. He has like 300k D grade Crystals so some Idiot is buying them. :D

They mostly sell from 580a to 660a and I even sold 3k for 777a each just 2 see if I can and I sold out. so yea let the buyer beware. :p
Even with 15% taxes in giran you can get D crystals for 685. Just do some research and have a dwarf who can crush stuff.
The more I read your posts (the OP) and the more other people from erica post, I think your freaking nuts.

Seriously, are you being totally and completely honest about the prices of things? Since, well, I just logged into erica and cant find a single SLS for 120M or even *close* to that price.

You run into a few people who are looking for ebayers and say everything is out of wack? Brother please.

Its a common thing to find a "new" person in the game, and sell them something for a outrageous amount. Its a ebayer trap and many morons fall for it.
Well if you wanna buy FAST you might as well buy for 120mil. If you have patience(which is the BEST virtue to play L2 market ) you can get with 1/5th of the price.
Noone forces you to buy it. Noone forces you to have top of your grade. And tbh Tsu*sls is much better if +4 :P
Just because you logged in to Erica and it was not there does not mean or suggest that it wasn't there when I was looking. I would not make up such an outrageous thing.
Whatever happened to the art of haggling? I know whenever I do WTS shouts, quite often I'm willing to come off the price to someone that really knows the true market value. Sometimes, I don't even know the real value of the item. If its in demand, I just throw out some crazy figure as ebay bait.

Just because you logged in to Erica and it was not there does not mean or suggest that it wasn't there when I was looking. I would not make up such an outrageous thing.

Granted, but seeing a "few" items overpriced and you cry foul like the world has gone mad?

Head to Teon, Bartz, or Franz and go to Giran. You'll see approx 500-700 shops. *AT LEAST* 100 of those are scam/overpriced shops. Either selling a look alike item (soul ore as A cry, stems as drac shafts, red gems as A gems, etc), gouging C/B grade items (as you already said, or even "mis marks" in set sales. 90M for a full set of NM, but one of the peices also has a additional 90M on it hoping no one sees).

What does that mean? That means its like the real world. Take a look around outside and you'll see the exact same things. Get rich now ! Why you no rich and I am?! You no buy my plan!!

If you are on a dead server, it may seem to you as if there are more of them, since if there are only 100 shops in giran, 10 seems like a big deal, but you just made a simple mistake of taking it as truth that *everyone* was doing it and came ranting on these boards over nothing.
I think if I understood your OP, Hect, you were trying to say things were really really OMG inflated because sellers are fleecing people and also perhaps advising them to 'be real' if they want to sell.

The thing is you really didn't need to make either of those arguments.
There is fleecing at all times in the game. The market adjusts and corrects for it.

If I see 3 players selling GSAP for 35-40k (since it is MUCH cheaper than that to manufacture), I'm going to set up a shop for 27000 and make all the sales of my GSAP.
If I don't currently have GSAP, I'll buy the components (one of a couple methods) to create or craft it if the going price is 35k for one.

I try to sell my things for the most the market will bear and the most I can get. Economics in L2 are every bit as cut throat as PvP and are an aspect of the game I love.

If I have a weapon that I know sells in Giran for 35k--I'm not putting it up for sale in Giran for 35k!!! Why would I do that? I'm not in the game to make deals to your advantage.
I'll go to Aden or Oren or Hunter's Village or wherever and ask 40m. It doesn't sell over a couple of nights--I'll drop the price to 38m, perhaps. My goal is to legitimately make every adena I can. If you buy my 4m adena clean top D-grade weapon for 6 million adena because I have the only one and you're in a hurry--that's just great pricing on my part. You don't want to overpay then you'll take the time and put in the effort to make your own top D-grade weapon--for about 3.1m btw.

No one logs in to make sure you get bargains. Sorry.
Always plonks trying it on with inflated prices. Ignore those. Find out what stuff is worth.

a) Where it most likely comes from
b) How much it likely cost the seller

Then you can see roughly how much profit they are making and decide if its fair for the convienience. If not and you cant find one fair within resonable time then get it yourself.

I agree patience is required for this game, unless you are very rich and dont mind throwing tonnes of money away.

If you wanna know the market, spend 30 mins checking all the shops every day or two. Within weeks/months (better as time goes on) you'll have it all sussed.
I have seen people in the past selling a stem for 100M adena. I wonder who would buy it...
25 mil for BW set? The helm alone is 15-22 mil (around 20 on Franz) so...
Anyway those prices are nonsense.
Maybe moving to another more stable server (economy wise) is a good idea.
selling an A-crystal for 1m adena is not scamming. It's stupid, but it's not scamming.

Selling a soul ore while advertising that you have A-crystals for sale--that is scamming.

When the only dwarf with DSS raises the price to 15a each--it is NOT a scam.
There really IS DSS in that shop and it really IS selling at 15a each.
You don't want it--don't buy it.

Overpricing, no matter how ridiculous or stupid is not a scam as long as you are selling what you appear to be selling and the person will really get the advertised item for the price asked.

I have seen people in the past selling a stem for 100M adena. I wonder who would buy it...

People paid to do so in real-life money.
When is it going to stop the ever increasing and damaging money and drops system in lineageII
I have been playing now for over 2 years and it is getting to a point I can no longer sustain my character
The drops are minimal as regards to weapons and armour the cost of teleporting is ridiculous. The prices people charge for crated items unreachable.
Maybe if drops were more frequent teleporting cheaper, things like greater healing/haste potions available in stores. Being able to by higher grade items in stores would surely help. The way it is going the money system will be the demise of lineage someday. You do nothing but encourage botting and farming in around about way.
Many people I have met with the chat systems have left over the last two years mainly due to not being able to progress or buy items they require as they are out of their reach.
Ps since people have changed servers the price of item has risen surely there should be a capping system in place to stop this happening.
It seems to me the botting and scamming industry are the ones ultimately running the show

regards andy oneill aka/jobyone
Unless you are doing raids all the time then you can't rely on drops to sustain yourself. For materials you have to do the manor to get them and once you get the hang of the manor you can get your items traded in. The alternative is make a buy shop. The problem is people are in a hurry and have the "I gotta have it NOW" attitude. I make a killing off those people.
Your all makeing a large mistake by generalizing that your server is dictating what could possibly be done to make money or whatnot on other servers... while in some cases the same breath... the comment is made that "no server's economy is the same" or "move to a server that has a decent eco"... the last of which is just stupid... seriously, don't mention it again, or you've proved your mental capacity is not worth mentioning.

Either way.. the facts remain as such:

You need luck, lots of it.... TONS of it.... serfice it to say, you simply have to have that one in a 100,000 chance of making it big... you have to be at the right place/at the right time/ hovering over the right person to yank what they may have. This is one case senario. In another senario using luck is OE sales..... good luck, i've seen alot of people go broke in that gamble.. and just as many end up with top s grade on all 7 of thier toons with that game to. Both of which are an impractical method of making money, No one should EVER suggest this as a "guaranteed" method of making adena..... don't be stupid... not everyone has the ability to jump on and go running through all the shops all the time, and alot of people cannot, (myself included)... cannot put up sell shops pretty much at all.... essentially screwing both the buy low and sell high capabilities.

Another fact of the matter is that the system is specifically setup in which the rich get richer and the poor typically gets poorer. To even get a grasp of what was talked above you need a considerable amount of adena to start with.

Crafting is a nice alternative, if the mats weren't rediculious, and if the manor system actually worked reliably. The restrictions on the manor is, to be blunt, a friviously big joke. Back when i was able to actually make the attempt at manoring, i couldn't... could possibly beat the automations running about... and i betcha i still couldn't... but now my hours have shifted around that i pretty much have NO guarantee to even conceive of being able to make it. That's an obvious problem.
Someone came up with a brilliant plan, "give someone else the fruit to turn in" well that's all fine and dandy, but some of these people should maybe perhaps listen to thier own words of wisdom about "never trade anything over to another user ever unless you don't mind not seeing those items/weapons/etc back ever". Excellent hey?

"get in a clan/alliance, they should help you" Brilliant, that one deserves a golf clap.... But i think i'll pass considering
The clan you have to join to take advantage of thier resources typically means that you, the player have to be a greedy SOB to start with, then manage to play the game of swaying as much support your way, and convince the various people in the clan to provide materials and recipes and such to get what you need to craft the stuff you need, and typically you can't EVEN pay for that materials.. as they aren't likely to just hand it all over at no cost and say "anything you want, you got it ;) ".... ontop of that, for these clans that you'd have to become buddy buddy with, usually end up being nothing close to that of your playing style, essentially screwing over your own gameplay which completely defeated the purpose of even playing the game in the first place. Sorry obviously that ruined it. Not a solution.

So option number to is to find a clan that meets your gameplay style and you can have fun with. Emediately so, quite often these clans are also unable to even sustain themselves very well either due to thier style of gameplay, or they are but at such a slow rate, your no further ahead, ontop of it all, there is a lineup of people waiting to get things settled and organized to craft thier own nessesities.

Either way, that's not a solution, it's still a problem, and we have to revert back to #1 for luck.

"change you gameplay style, you aren't playing the game right"
oh for crying out loud, that's beyond even being rediculious absurd for a statement. Playing the game right? wrong play style, sorry but while LineageII has a heavy PVP style gameplay, it was indeed designed orginally to play through without pvp beyond that of seiges and such. Go fly a kite.

All the problems in the world would be resolved..... all those rolling off thier own luck and considerably unlimited time or schedule shifting to FORCE this game to work in thier own advantage are typically refusing to bite the bullet as they already figure they've invested thier energy and resources, it should drastically change so quickly (and what's odd is these people have a high tendacy to think the worst possible solution aka, destroying everything they worked for as well....)

Anyways the solution is to bump the adena drops.... up, something that makes sense, i should be able to go into mobs 10 lvls higher then myself, be able to solo them all with the gear i've got, and then walk away with not even enough adena to pay for anything worth mentioning, and little to no mats worth even selling atm.

If i spend 6 hours.... on my BH, spoiling mobs 3x hp and the same lvl as myself, each successful spoil shouldn't net me only the same thing that if i were lucky enough to get a drop.. the same number of items i would have gotten if it were a drop. If a single stem drops... a spoiled stems should amount in the 10s at the lower lvls and in the 100's at the higher lvls. Lets get real, a lvl 1 mob dropping 1 stem and a lvl 85 mob dropping 1 stem is no where even remotely realistic. If those figures were accurate, the cost of crafting a top NG weapon vs a S80 top grade weapon in mats alone should be identical. Obviously that doesn't make sense, so why does it makes sense to ncsoft that the drop rates do? I think someone needs to be fired in that respect.

To a more accurate point, everything that makes you money in lineageII is essentially nowhere even remotely close to 25% of the cost of moving through the lvls and equipment of lineageII. None of it makes any logical sense at all, and the only reason alot of people are really complaining, specially the lucky ones that did it "legitimately" are all using dirty adena to begin with. None on, right now, aside from the few people that just started and weren't handed adena can claim that all thier current adena and armor... even my own adena and armor is 100% Legitimate. You can't.... via the own game mechanics and whatnot, it's simply not possible at all. It was all, ALL of it through one method of another produced by the automations we've had for years. That's a fact. All the inflation that has occurred has been 99% cause by these buggers.

Just think about it, what would lineageII look like today in terms if there were none and never was any automations? And no one were using those **** 3rd part programs. Think about it. I can pretty much guarantee you that no one in thier right mind would even bother attempting to sell a Dama for 250mil, no one would even conceive of putting 1billion adena sale even today.... There might be a few high prices.... but we'd likely have only seen maybe 1 red weapon per server, no +6 armor sets to speak off (above d grade anyways), people would still likely be trying to manage A grade crafting.

A perfect example of this is with the PTS usually, you know how even with the multiplied droprates/xp/sp and whatnot... you notice how long it takes when there is no boosts or crap stuffed in our wh's and whatnot.. how long it took the thousands of us to manage to even get Decent D grade gear let alone DSS's..... then beyond that, managed to get c grade gear...... hell people were after the 2 week run that had occurred, still running around with NO full plate. There were a very very VERY few exceptions where some people were cheating... Oventually that all led to thing happening down the road.. but within the first week to 2 weeks.. lineageII was very pure.... people hitting mid b grade with partial lowest and c grade gear. I think i actually ran into someone that was already 61+ and still have a homu +3 with acumen and karmian set that wasn't even complete yet.
Why is moving to a server where the economy is better "stupid" Judas?

Are you attempting to say that across every server, the economies are as healthy and vibrant as every other server?

If so, your the "stupid" one.

Prices across servers are not the same. I can get a +5 item for the same price I could get a +3 on one of the dead servers. Not to mention highly OE'ed items are so much cheaper its not even funny.

Bottom line is, the guy should move to one of the big 3 servers, period. There is absolutely NO point in starting on the dead ones. Sorry.

That's people that don't know how play the game. I was in Top D at 20 on PTS. How I did the smart thing I made a Dwarf first got it to level 20 then crafted ssd and sold that over night. then I made my Kamael and when I hit level 20 I had the money to get my Weapon and because my Dwarf was the leader of my level 5 clan I just put my Kamael in the academy and poof I'm level 20 with top D grade weapon and Full Clan oath Armor set.

It was a Little different in Beta, back then we had nothing near what new people have 2 start with but by level 25 I was n full Mitral set that was +4 with top D grade helmet at the time and +6 Demon Staff. I farm the D grade scrolls at Wasteland back when they had this little area with nothing but golems it was such a nice spot that I got a few PVP points fighting for that spot back in beta. (Beta we had no farmers, no bots and no Ebay) but yet I had nice gear at level 25.

How? You find out right away in this game if you just look around that money is hard come by. So knowing that, you fight mobs that are green you don't use shots.I didn't;'t use bsps till I was 58 (which was a mistake cause after that it was like Crack could not stop using it lol)

Any way People cheat Because they want to cheat not because they have 2. Look at WOW their is no need for Farmers in WOW yet they have them big time. We have severs that are almost dead yet the same servers have farmers.

Everyone just learn the game and leave Ebay alone and this can turn into the most wanted game.

Will it Happen Hell no you have 2 many people that want be all they can be.

So you have 3 thing you can do. (by the way this part is not pointed at Judas this for anyone having problems)

1. of course quit......but before you go can I have your gear? :p

2. Learn the Game and if you can't figure out something do like me and ask for help and find out lot of people play this game that Knows how 2 play the game. I'm good at this game but I suck at PVP so i have no choice but 2 ask for help.

3. Cheat (and I hope and pray you get banned if you do) :D

my 2 cents
I think you ranted about everything in that thesis.

You are correct that automatons affect everything. The millions of green seal stones that people buy come mostly from automatons. So do most base materials and high level key materials. People brag about manoring on them.

It is true you need a lot of adena to make a lot of adena unless you are very lucky. But not everything is about luck. Find a niche market and play it well. I started by selling DSS and moved up from there. I am not going to spoon feed you on how to do it.

Why is moving to a server where the economy is better "stupid" Judas?

Because it shouldn't be nessary, the game mechnics should be in place to resolve any issues due to inflation, this would create some form of stability, without trashing the market either. Moving to another server is stupid because it's a rediculious suggestion, Perhaps for newer players yes, worth while suggestion, but there is no way i'm moving over 14 toons... possibly more... to a server, the cost doesn't justify the means, Think about, it... for the amount of dollars i would spend "moving a toon" i could just as easily "buy" the adena i lack, buying adena is stupid, just as stupid as moving the toons i play with to another stupid to get the same benefits that could potentially have no return at all anyways.

Actually i thought i made this somewhat clear in my post, i'm well aware of none of the servers really having any form of similare eco.... i agree with you, IF i had said that, but i didn't.. therefore i guess i'm not stupid.

Bottom line is, the guy should move to one of the big 3 servers, period. There is absolutely NO point in starting on the dead ones. Sorry.

Theres a difference between "starting" on a dead server, and "Has started and now is" on the dead server. Can you honestly tell me that within a few months period.. you could clearly make an accurate decession on which servers would be best?

How bout for someone that has never played an MMORPG before... or some that aren't familare with what they should or should not be seeing.

Sure it's easy to clearly see what's going on now and what choices should be made today, IF you were starting complete fresh. To bad that knowledge didn't magically somehow come to mind when i was new and could fortell the future....

AKA, being a bit impractical imo.

Unless your one of those freaky RP'er types, there is no way in hell you *need* 14 toons. Sure, you might "enjoy" playing them occasionally, but all you need is your main and its buffers over there. (Which would be 3 accounts $150, not alot)

You can easily tell, its called server status. Anyone "new" to MMO's wants to be with *alot* of people. Thats why they made the jump in the first place. Thus, its pretty easy to tell "light" is lower then "heavy" isnt it? Dosent take a genius to tell someone that.

As to us "old" timers, we all knew exactly what was going on wwwaaayyy back in C2/C3. You could very clearly see the writing on the walls for certain servers. Populations were already dying at that point. Did you think it would magically "get better" somehow? Of course not.

The opening of Teon just cemented it for alot of servers. Franz was just a kick in the face for the rest. A vast majority of people moved off of those dead servers way back then. Anyone else could have as well.

That was the last pts.. i'm not refering to that...... and it's a bit different considering. I was reffering to the previous PTS (may not be the 2nd last one) where there was no academy abilities, no one was able to freely lvl the crap outa thier clans, people had to work together just to get lvl 3, Pretty interesting how many people died during those fun times.

I was lvl 44 before i managed to get myself a 2nd top d weapon from giran.

Another pts i managed to get lucky and when i was lvl 18 got a rather high ng weapon which made things much easier to save up... i managed to get brig tunic and gaiters..... this all considering the 3x rate increase.

Now with the buffs and advantages now i'm pretty sure i could manage near top d @ lvl 20, but the still doesn't solve anything.. actually it is more of a false hope when you hit 40 and go "wth"

Where are these areas now? Some of these things simply vanished... Mobs no longer excist, the drops no longer excist.... Thing have changed around and while initially they looked dandy, in reality unfortuneately i've seen so far that this isn't the case. Quite a number of people that were back in beta miss alot of the orginal "beta" materials.

Unfortuneately i wasn't beta... L2 is my first and mostly only MMO i've ever played (aside from being dragged into the WoW phenomina that i still dislike) I showed up shortly before C3 went live, however i got an intial boost by being handed alot of good grade stuff, made it to lvl 20 on my DE wizard i started with, only to find myself simply screwed on what i could possible do to fund the d grade run. And i actually asked some of the beta people and pre-c2 people what it was like and how they managed, and the responce was generally overall a better player base and while the xp was horrible, the drops weren't all that bad nor was the mobs that dropped some of them, prices were actually relatively decent to. Myself, remember being able to buy a brigadine helmet for 450k.... back then i thought that was rediculious. Holy crap, 450k adena, i could buy 2 peices of brigadine for that much almost. And some of the pre-c2ers had mentioned that they were cheaper yet. not by much.. but by a little.

How? You find out right away in this game if you just look around that money is hard come by. So knowing that, you fight mobs that are green you don't use shots.I didn't;'t use bsps till I was 58 (which was a mistake cause after that it was like Crack could not stop using it lol)

That's where things right away turn over 90% of the playerbase completely sour, i would have liked to have been around before SS/BSPS were even considered a possibility, to bad i missed that, and now, now it's completely different, if your caught not using SS or BSPS or at the very least SPS, your either booted from party or your stuck behind still barely compensating for the loss of everything, the amount of sitting, the amount of waiting royally screws everything up, it's no longer a game, of any form of interest, it's a "i'd rather watch paint dry". Completely defeats the purpose of the game when things get a little far to split.

Any way People cheat Because they want to cheat not because they have 2. Look at WOW their is no need for Farmers in WOW yet they have them big time. We have severs that are almost dead yet the same servers have farmers.

That's just because cheaters will remain cheaters and are lazy reguardless.... The only credit i can give wow is reguardless of if you have cheated or not, they both are doing well enough in game with thier gold/silver peices that neither has an emediate and unovertakeable position that's almost indefinate.
LineageII however pretty much guarantees that cheater wins, hands down, most of all the time, as they are the first to the top, the quickest to be suited up, the most pots/buffs/over enchants generally, and can go around and litterly take anything or do anything they want. What's even more horrific is that it's now becoming a promoted thing is most if not all of the top end clans. This is where in seighardts case, i think biggs has a fairly good head on his shoulders, occasionally you can recruite someone that looks legit and find out later they are complete cheaters, i'm glad that so far from what i've seen he's booted them. But surfice it to say, it's unlikely with the current way things are running, that bigg's clan is likely to storm any major (cheater) clans walls and take thier castles/forts or whatever else unless they get lucky and the there are no defenders. or they are allowed. Mind you that doesn't stop them from trying. ...good stuff.

Everyone just learn the game and leave Ebay alone and this can turn into the most wanted game.

Short of a complete wipe of the servers and a complete rebuild of the lineageII core code and server/client systems, we are screwed with what we got right now, and the only thing ncsoft can do to stop it is rewrite the EULA and start hiring some VR goons with a machine gun loaded with ban bullets, that can walk around within the realms of lineageII across any server and start picking off anyone that remote shows any creditble evidence of 3rd party/botting.... and grant them the ability to scour the logs for adena transfers among these bots to people.

Will it Happen Hell no you have 2 many people that want be all they can be.

Unfortunate isn't it.....

So you have 3 thing you can do. (by the way this part is not pointed at Judas this for anyone having problems)

1. of course quit......but before you go can I have your gear? :p

Another unfortunate option...

2. Learn the Game and if you can't figure out something do like me and ask for help and find out lot of people play this game that Knows how 2 play the game. I'm good at this game but I suck at PVP so i have no choice but 2 ask for help.

Some of the answers that are usually provided are server specific. While yes some of these options are "available" on all servers, alot of them cannot be put into practice due to unforseen differences among the servers. Not saying i haven't even bothered giving them a try, just saying that when i have, a considerable number of them end up not guaranteeing the final results orginally thought out to be.

3. Cheat (and I hope and pray you get banned if you do) :D

actually i borderline on if this should even be joked about, no offense intended, continue to put humor in wherever you can, but where i saw a joke before, i'm no longer finding it funny unfortunately.

Unless your one of those freaky RP'er types, there is no way in hell you *need* 14 toons. Sure, you might "enjoy" playing them occasionally, but all you need is your main and its buffers over there. (Which would be 3 accounts $150, not alot)

Obviously you can't even comprehend my style of gameplay. The fact that i have 14 toons is my concern yes, you think i have a main? Fortuneately i'm not tied to "a main" i do have various lvl toons, but i don't RP at all actually, and i thoroughly enjoy the different aspects of the various toons that i do have. You seem to think that i prefer one of the classes over them all, and that i should just move a buffer and main over.. I actually enjoy playing my buffer and not as a boxed toon occasionally to. Your preception of gameplay doesn't even follow anything near the same wavelength as mine, so your suggestion is moot, also the suggestion that $150 is not alot really depends, apparently to you, moving 3 characters over to another server is not alot, bu in my eyes, that easily pays for my meals for another month or other activities or other factors at play. The fact remains that i shouldn't HAVE to pay $150 just to move 1/5th of my toons over to another server just for the possibility that i may be able to better "craft" the gear i need or manage to get better quantities of adena. Like i has said before, that's completely counter productive. Maybe in your own mind you think it's the best option out of them all, with no care in the world for anything else remaining on the server or the people you've made contacts with, you've apparently can justify trying to either cut ties completley with the people you've associated with, perhaps you just consider them "just other people" and maybe you've even sold the transfer idea to other people you most thoroughly enjoyed playing with as well. I'm not being a bullheaded stubborn bastard here, I'm just trying to play the game in the most fun manner i can manage. And transfering and spending 150 bucks is nowhere in the realm of fun specially if the chance that the 150 bucks + is going to be for a lost cause anyways. IMO best right now to stick to the place i'm at as who knows in the future, a server merge is a likely REAL possibility.

You can easily tell, its called server status. Anyone "new" to MMO's wants to be with *alot* of people. Thats why they made the jump in the first place. Thus, its pretty easy to tell "light" is lower then "heavy" isnt it? Dosent take a genius to tell someone that.

Seriously you must have a bit of memory loss as i even recall the swarms of people on seighardt (example) where the server were rated HEAVY and FULL, hell i remember having troubles even logging in. You call that dead? this was durring the C2/C3 and partially into the C4 (server where medium by then.... occasionally heavy)

So your telling me that durring the times that i wasn't able to log in due to "server capacity issues"... that it was all a fasod? None of it was real? Those servers were already dead or dieing..... i guess i'll have to completely disagree on that one.

As to us "old" timers, we all knew exactly what was going on wwwaaayyy back in C2/C3. You could very clearly see the writing on the walls for certain servers. Populations were already dying at that point. Did you think it would magically "get better" somehow? Of course not.

No, but then again as mentioned above, when something is full.. it usually indicates something.

The opening of Teon just cemented it for alot of servers. Franz was just a kick in the face for the rest. A vast majority of people moved off of those dead servers way back then. Anyone else could have as well.

When i jumped into l2.. i am sure teon was already rollling... teon probably did affect alot yes... but it happened before i was around.. so i didn't see the effects.

Where as when franz landed, i did indeed see the effects... but i didn't see them as to big of a deal at all... well on seighardt anyways... wasn't to many people that moved worth really noting. Have no clue about the other server though.

Obviously you can't even comprehend my style of gameplay.

From reading that long [censored] thing, nope I cant. However, do I think your in the minority of people who play this game? Your **** right I do.

Certain people are alot like you (Hi spud ;D), they have so many characters they cant even keep them straight half the time. They've got every slot full, across 2 or 3 servers and they play them all.

Then theres the "normal" player. He dosent do that. He may have 3-4 toons, but they are because he hasnt really decided which he likes best yet. He then decides eventually and 1 or 2 of those toons because PK'er just to blow off some steam, while the other is a "project" toon or what have you.

Are you suggesting that moving 1 or 2 toons for a "normal" player is out of the question? With the majority of people playing this game being full time workers in the mid 20's, I dont think 50 or 100 bucks is going to break anyone.

Seriously you must have a bit of memory loss as i even recall the swarms of people on seighardt (example) where the server were rated HEAVY and FULL, hell i remember having troubles even logging in. Heh, your memory must be a bit.. off. C1, yes Sieg was like that. End of C2/ beginning of C3? Hell no, keep dreaming. Sieg was however normal alot of the time, but dropping from full/heavy -> normal would be a big indicator in my book that somethings wrong lucy.

When i jumped into l2.. i am sure teon was already rollling... teon probably did affect alot yes... but it happened before i was around.. so i didn't see the effects.

That last line is what I find the most fun.

You'll have people here saying GOOD RIDDANCE, we didnt want you anyway on our servers!!!111

Then all of a sudden, certain items start to skyrocket in price. You cant find recipes as easy. OE'ed items double or triple.

Think thats just a happenstance? Of course not. Those people who others didnt care about, those ubers, the lol'ers, the boaters, whoever, whatever, helped the economy far more then some guy with 14 characters.

Obviously you can't even comprehend my style of gameplay.

I won't deny that my case is a bit of the minority, but i'm definitely not a minority in statein that the server transfer policy or idea is out of the question is still not a justifiable expense or reason or even a solution for that matter. IF server transfers made without a doubt, major sense and promoted mine as well as others forms of gameplay, do you really think that there would even be a server at all? No one in thier right mind would even BE on that server.

Certain people are alot like you (Hi spud ;D), they have so many characters they cant even keep them straight half the time. They've got every slot full, across 2 or 3 servers and they play them all.

I've got a few toons on every server.... but i definitely don't play them exclusively at all, most of all my efforts are on seighardt.... BUT one of the major contributing factors the number of toons i play is due to the number of the low lvl things i can do and the people i tend to try and help out that are either starting fresh or just to have some fun with. The fun has a very harsh habit of trailing off as you get closer to 60's for me..... and i know for a fact a considerable number of people agree.. they just don't feel like rolling through another toon after another......

Then theres the "normal" player. He dosent do that. He may have 3-4 toons, but they are because he hasnt really decided which he likes best yet. He then decides eventually and 1 or 2 of those toons because PK'er just to blow off some steam, while the other is a "project" toon or what have you.

yup, alot of people have a main, or 2... sometimes 3 at most usually... and then a pile of other toons they have a habit of rushing through academy for points.

Are you suggesting that moving 1 or 2 toons for a "normal" player is out of the question? With the majority of people playing this game being full time workers in the mid 20's, I dont think 50 or 100 bucks is going to break anyone.

Now that there is a massive misconception. mid 20's? I wouldn't think even the majority of he players are in thier mid twenties.. it's very infrequent that i run into that many players in thier twenties.... the ages seem to vary from barely under 10 years of age all the way up into the 80+.... probably the majority of players in l2 are 30-40's... guessing.... a good some of which are in 15-25 likely...

50-100 bucks to ALOT of people is the difference between having the feul in thier vehicles, being able even use a computer let alone power it, and eating not to mention making rent.

I easily VERY easily have the funds to pay for all my toons to transfer, but you keep ignoring the fact of the matter.... transfering doesn't guarantee a solution at all. It's a pure gamble for the circumstances being discussed. Things could change so wildly that everything spent was a royal waiste to begin with.... yes there is a chance that thing could go great as well.. but it still is self defeating and counter productive due to the relations already set. If i moved my toons over, i'd likely quit.... A transfer isn't going to spark anything for me.

Seriously you must have a bit of memory loss as i even recall the swarms of people on seighardt (example) where the server were rated HEAVY and FULL, hell i remember having troubles even logging in. Actually no your actually wrong here.... i'm going to have to dig up those screenshots if i can find them.... but i guarantee you, in C3.. the servers were registering full occasionally. You can actually pull this information up using these very forums via search fuction during the periods of C3.

When i jumped into l2.. i am sure teon was already rollling... teon probably did affect alot yes... but it happened before i was around.. so i didn't see the effects.

No it's not happenstance..... but the situation and cause of the matter is not set in stone either...

What i can tell you is that from what i could tell, the major problem occurance started when 3rd party tools being widely available and easy to use that everyone start cheating in mass, and the problem esculated to the point that people were quiting left and right, or moving to another server (the later being extremely rare case)..... oventually a considerable number of mass bannings and further quiters. Now it's just a few that managed to squeeze through the ban fingers that seem to be rolling, and the cheaters kreeping up out of the woodwork that haven't raised any critical alarms.... it's not nearly as in mass anymore.... more fire for the "lineageII" is dieing matter, or at least colapsing.

I won't deny that my case is a bit of the minority, but i'm definitely not a minority in statein that the server transfer policy or idea is out of the question is still not a justifiable expense or reason or even a solution for that matter. Considering how much cash this is generating for NCSoft, I think its pretty clear transfers are a hit.

There are many reasons people dont leave light servers. However, none of them revolve around the economy so to speak.

Some stay to farm boss jewels, some stay because they cant leave their friends, some stay in hopes of actually having a shot at a castle, whatever.

The fun has a very harsh habit of trailing off as you get closer to 60's for me..... and i know for a fact a considerable number of people agree.. they just don't feel like rolling through another toon after another......

That goes to why you play MMO's in the first place. To me, the game dosent matter. This could be hello kitty online (long as it has PvP!) for all I care. Its about the people I play with... many of whom I've met in real life, others I'm planning on meeting soon. If they wish to move, I'll move, its that simple. Has nothing to do with L2 or how hard L2 is. Grinding 5 hours with a group of 6 friends feels like you went out drinking, without the fuzzy aftereffect of throwing up in the toilet.

There are numerous scientific data that supports my claim, not the least of which is the daedalus project. The majority are in their mid/late 20's, and do work full time.

transfering doesn't guarantee a solution at all. It's a pure gamble for the circumstances being discussed

I disagree. Its only a gamble if you do not plan ahead. Forwarned is forarmed so they say. Its not hard to go over to another server, get the giran SoE and check out the economy for a week or two.
I demand a summary! ><'
Two weeks of checking out Giran does not tell a thing either.

At most an adjudicated guess. A mass ban can alter this in a second. Concerning transferring for economical reasons. I am with Judas on this.

To me the transfer is only valid for the better play time-zones or boredom (that being not able to talk to a living soul or PvP related restrains when it comes to having non or too much of it).

Any server in itself should be able to sustain itself. If it can't then something is amiss and I firmly believe it does not involve inflation if you are the kind of person that earns the things he/she wears in game via drops/spoils only.

A mass ban will not dramatically effect prices.

There have been two since transfers opened on Giran and prices did not change a inch.

Mass bans only affect *small* servers. If you ban 1000 players on Bartz/Teon/Franz, big deal? If you ban 500 players on Sieg or Erica, you just lost 50% of your player base. That is huge.

I dont deal in a fantasy world. I deal in reality. The reality is, ebaying is rampant, and the economy drives itself party through that.

Some servers cannot sustain themselves, that is a fact. You are starting to see it and it will only get worse, not better. Enjoy I guess :)

A mass ban will not dramatically effect prices.

Tell that to the cost of my Arcana Mace Craft. One day hundreds upon hundreds of mace heads available in Giran at 300k a pop. Good deal! The next day, the toons that have them disappear. Two week go by with absolutely no one selling them with an influx of S-Grade mages looking to craft it.

Finally someone starts spoiling them again. Price? 2.5m each.

Supply and demand. Mass bannings CAN, and usually do, have a good deal of affect on prices (at least for some time).
If your going to quote it, at least read it.. it might help.

Well then... maybe you shouldn't contradict yourself within the first three lines.

It doesn't...
Blah blah.
But it does in this case.

I don't feel like reading the novel you and judas have turned this thread into.
Its considered a paragraph for future knowledge, thus you'd read the whole thing. (Granted I split it up, since some people dont like to read blocks of text on the net)

Sorry if reading 3 lines is too hard. I'll try to keep it simple.

R U OK OVR THR?

Better for you?

selling an A-crystal for 1m adena is not scamming.

Right you are, changed the wording of my post to better reflect what I meant. 'Scammers' is now 'Plonks'. :D
I'M SUPERRR! THANKSSS FOR ASSSKING! ;p

Three lines; a paragraph; a couple sentences; what ever. Doesn't change the fact at hand. And, after having read that "book" of a thread up 'till that post, I felt like I didn't need to read the whole thing. I assumed where you were going (albeit, wrong because of your contradiction) and posted based off of the first line-- for future knowledge, usually the point you're trying to make goes there.

ANYWAY? Regardless of my assumption, my post seems in support of what the last part of your "paragraph" was saying. All in all, it should support the merging of the servers considered dead. Because, well, those are the servers bannings affect the most.

I won't deny that my case is a bit of the minority, but i'm definitely not a minority in statein that the server transfer policy or idea is out of the question is still not a justifiable expense or reason or even a solution for that matter. Nothing to disagree with there....

This is where are situations change derastically.... considering that there is no one in this game i've met personally ASIDE from 1 or 2 people the orginal introduced it to me. Neither of which play anymore anyways. So it's extremely difficult for me to relate to the type of bonds you got as i typically have no friends even remotely close to my isolated location in real life. Nor does any of my real life friends have a clue about computers due to a number of reasons. I'm a bit unique in that sense.

Either way, any friendships i've built have been built apon this game, and in mostly seighardt... when i get a chance and the lvls are right, i'll join in the higher lvl stuff, but it's alot easier and more fun getting a bunch of people together for for the lower stuff... more raids and such. (i also have a bad habit of giving away some of my goodies to newbies)

Now that there is a massive misconception. mid 20's? IMO statics are argueable..... i have my own doubts on the accuracy of those results as you can basically turn around anywhere and counter them all the time. While yes, that's the accepted "norm" to be expected.... i doubt it, and i won't be able to beleive it. It's been stated that a considerable number of the orginal "NES and Arcade" age groups are no closer to thier later 30s and earlier 40s now. And they say that those poeople are the most active gamers usually yet.

As already stated, that's your own opinion of the side.. where as mine is probably the most agreeable situation and fact. It would have been different if i had stated it in another fashion. But you can't deny it that there is no DEFINITE 100% accurate, guarantee that anyone moving to another server is going to be happy one way or another.

This is where are situations change derastically.... considering that there is no one in this game i've met personally ASIDE from 1 or 2 people the orginal introduced it to me. Its funny since I use to be like that too. I think I was even worse, in that I felt internet friendships were nothing compared to a RL friendship and the two shoudnt cross bounds. (Even though I met my wife in a game, odd view point I had lol)

Now I coudnt go back to that way of thinking. Maybe one day you'll find a good group and know what I'm saying, and then I think your views would change alot on the subject.

Completely agreed that they are certainly arguable. However, they generally tell the truth in the end. Especially when dealing with the sheer number of subject samples. (people i.e.)

News medias tend to dilute our view on them though, since god knows they'll throw anything up there as a survey. (5 people surveyed said they did not like cheese, therefor NO ONE LIKES CHEESE!)

No you really cant have a accurate picture either in favor or against to be honest, your right.

However, I still believe common sense dictates that the more people in a economy, the healthier the economy will be in the end. I think you could agree there :P Its pretty established in the world around us, which isnt so different then lineage frankly.
You guys are harshing my mellow. Less words, please.

then again if you take a good look at the real world and it's economy.. it's been proven over and over and over again then "mass volume" aka, possible sales or purchases doesn't mean stable economy.... it actually has a higher tendancy to leave you in a position of great or less buying power depending on where you've "gotten" lucky with the gamble of "life" in general.

It's still a gamble either way. The chance are better on the larger markets, but there is still chance.. and while commonsense tends to lean towards the greater possibility, the other logical course is to stick to the already manageable and knowable markets available (cause taking the time to learn a new one and then missing the wagon is a pretty hard bullet to bite).

In such a case, this is just one of other factors that make Transfering to another server an impratical decision.

Also, No business does well when it gets to big, to fast.....
ok first off.... DO REALLY NEED THIS HOSTILITY? CHILL OUT TAKE A PILL QUIT THE GAME... do what u need to do to calm down.

2nd. this maybe only on so called "small" servers but i can tell you on hindemith i single handedly crashed the ssa market last year and made 150 mil in 3 months from 1 mil starting cost. All it takes is patience time , and a stubborn attitude...(at the time my ally buddy called me the most stubborn canadian he knew:)) i agree u need to start small and work your way up. ppl are greedy in this game and very lazy. so you prey on that.

you make consumable items cheaper than ANYONE else on the server and sell em at maybe 6-10% profit. I was ****** cuz a shots were selling at 103a but made for like 85 at the time. almost 20% mark up.
So i thought id craft shots and sellem at 95 to start. Id put up like 10 k and theyed be gone in a sec. so id go to giran and make more. at 15 batches i could now have profit to make 20k a shot. in another 15 batches i could make 40k a shot. Get the picture? from 10 k a shot i built it into an empire that was selling 600-800k a shots on weekdays and over 1m a shots a day weekends. i sold em at only 6a more than i craft em for.
how long did it take me? i could craft 200k a shot in roughly 40-60 min in giran.
By the end i had allys pming me for shots and the heros telling ppl where i was in shout:)
all this cuz dorfs are greedy, and ppl are to lazy to craft their own shots.... i crashed the market from 103 to 80 in 3 months .
Well, you found a fast way to create items (which have potentially unlimited supply) and that put you ahead of everyone else. Normally people craft less and sell a bit higher. But shots are not the same as selling weapons/armors, especially the ones of higher grade. The amount of recs/ key mats is limited, you can't flood the market with them so selling them really cheap means only that someone else will buy it to resell at higher price and you will just cut your own profit.

When I sell rare items I usually put a bit higher than average prices in my sell shop but if someone pm's me to bargain I usually lower the price. In this way the ones who really need it will get their items cheap and you can make extra profit from cheating/lazy/rich people :D
I don't think either myself or ash was being hostile at all..

it was a discussion.... nothing more.... argueing different sides of the coin.. even if i was riding the edge more often then a single side.

Sorry about the big posts, its rare to actually have a intelligent conversation anymore ;P

it's also slightly amusing that some people get fed up and can't (or refuse) to read the bigger ones.. everyone seems to want 1 word answers or single sentance essays.....

it's not possible when things get complicated.

It's Dostoevskiy if it's written in current version of most popular 'translit' (transliteration). Unfortunately this forum doesn;t allow typing Cyrillic letters. :p

I blame it on the time. When it's late in the night, the characters are intertwining and dancing together on the page. When the message is short, it's easier to seperate them and read the message (5 times before getting the whole sentence without interruption of daydreams). Big block of letters are an impossible challenge. I tried. I saw ponies prancing in fields of daisies but I'm not sure that was the topic.
I told myself I could read it the next day, but I always forget. So I'm sorry, I still didn't read your posts ><'
that's understandable.... but there is always tomorrow
