Making good quality fraps videos.

I've been trying to help a friend make a video out of his fraps files, we've used a couple of programs now and both times the video has come out in poor quality. You can see whats going on, but it looks terrible, can't read anything and everything is so blurry ><

When watching the fraps files on their own they are perfect quality, same as if you are playing the game, however when we try to put them together and render them, quality is completely lost =/

I've seen other people's videos and the quality there is the same as the fraps files, can anyone give some advice on how we can make the quality better?

Thanks to anyone who can offer advice.

depending on the program your using.. you must get into the nitty critty part of the file format that it's being compressed into.. the quality factors and compression schemes..

frankly i find WMV to be very quick and easy.... so-so quality wise...
DivX is brilliant, little bit on the complicated side though.

using Windows Media Encoder is a nice program to walk through and learn with.. trial and error...
