Necro or Warlock

Human Classes Started Last reply 13 posts
Hi all i just came back to lineage 2 3 days ago and i decided this time to go caster class. currently im a Human mystic and trying to decide if i should go warlock or necro due to the fact that most times I have too solo.

But I am looking for a caster class thats well rounded that can solo or be wanted in groups and do well in PvP so any advice would be greatful.
Warlock can solo fine without outside buffs well into the 70's. Buffs just make a Warlock shine and look uber soloing in areas that most classes wouldnt (couldn't ;) )want to solo in. Queen makes Warlock wanted in melee parties because of focus/dw buff. Not so great at pvp in general because of pvp nerf, but thats not to say they cant pvp. 1vs1 is doable, but anything bigger and you'll probably be just a buffer trailing after your fellow archers/daggers.

Although necros have a summon, they cant solo as easily as Warlocks in high level areas without outside help, so a duo with a SE at least would be needed to limit downtime and get anywhere fast. Necros have great nukes and debuffs, + the summon which makes a well played necro deadly in pvp. Everyone always says though that necros aren't wanted much in parties.
both classes are great for solo. i would go warlock for solo if you dont have a oop SE cause as a necro ull need some mana if u dont know how to play with b2m. for pvp necro is one of the best classes but since ct1 (jewels with dark ress+element ress s80 armors) your damage goes down...i dont know if a warlock is well in pvp..
warlock= summoner-->cheaper
necro=nuker,debuffer,summoner-->expensive
at first i would start a dorf and make some money with manor/spoil(?)/craft(!) if you want to play a necro cause of his death spike skill which means 1 cursed bones (=+360a per spell+shots ~670a/spell o.O) good luck!

don't forget the cost of D/C crys. and gear, you have to have a good weapon to Nuke a Necro up.

Also sense ct1 Nukes fail alot, I have a friend that refuses to play his necro cause of how often his nukes fail on like lvl mobs (which can get you killed in a heart beat).

And if they don't fail to 1 dmg, they do half dmg; which I've seen lvling a storm screamer in IoP. happens more often then you'd like.

Warlocks win if you get a prominence augment. You get a skill, mass surrender to fire. And I've seen a WK own archers and others...pretty good stuff. Storm cubic, and para cubic that fire every 30 seconds is ownage. Necro's don't get cubics.

Also cat queen at 56 means you can lvl with 5% xp loss vs the 10% that kai takes from 56-66 when Kai becomes closer to 5%. And phatyn Archer goods will want you badly! which gives you a free ride.
Well necro is more PVP oriented. Has a nuker playstyle at his PVE , but very expensive at levels near 44 . I believe he levels faster than the warlock.
Warlock is a more relaxed playstyle. Best for PVE. And you can do 56-8x with just using your buffer cat. Dance every 2 mins and make archer groups love you. They dont really need you for exp ( you are not as helpfull as a BD for example) but if they know you are willing to lose some of the exp they helped you get to give them your buff at pvp they will have you with em all the time.
My vote for warlock
The Library seems to be out of date, it doesn't say when the cats stop using exp or at least have it greatly reduced.

Queen the cat should eat 0% exp at some point.
And Kai should reach 5% ? or 0% too?

What are those levels?

Servitor & Exp

The Exp. taken by Servitors has been reduced significantly. Some Servitors do not take any Exp. at all anymore.

* Feline Queen, Unicorn Seraphim, and Nightshade now take no Exp. at level 70+.
* Kai the Cat, Merrow the Unicorn, and Soulless now take no Exp. at level 70+.
* Feline King, Magnus the Unicorn, and Spectral Lord do not take any Exp.
* Kat the Cat, Boxer the Unicorn, and Shadow now take 18% of the Exp. at level 78+.

offical notes (http://www.lineage2.com/news/kamael_16.html)
Ah, silly me, thanks. Forgot about the notes, was only looking at the library.
60+ the get reduced too
Necro has more options than Warlock.

Cubics in PvE aren't really missed, and in PvE they don't land enough to make them worth the adena, IMO.

Unless you're fighting unbuffed people, or in the Olympiad.

If you have long-term goals, Necro in S Grade is very strong, and they get two very strong Fusions at level 81 (and their CT1+ 81 skills looks very nice, AOE drain with Power > Dark Vortex).

Can you give some more info about this skill?
It's a 117 Power Point-Blank Area of Effect Drain.

Point Blank Area of Effect like Overlord Seals.

117 Power Drain like 6 Power More than Dark Vortex.

Powerful.

It's called Vampiric Mist.

And of course Gahenna (AoE Fusion Nuke in the style of Raging Waves/Cyclone/Volcano) and Day of Doom (Fusion Debuff that debuffs way too much :)).
It just depends on your play style. Do you enjoy doing damage yourself? Does the idea of debuffing and still being able to do good damage in pvp turn you on? Be a necro.

Do you find it fun to control a pet and would you enjoy being a support class in grp? Warlock.

Having had both, I'd say that the expenses are similar for both if you solo with the warlock. You can save money and get better xp by grouping with archers/melee who love the cat's crit buff. As a necro though, I've never lost to a warlock in open field pvp. Even in Oly they are beatable by a necro. However, a warlock is so awesome to have in a archer or melee grp, that cat buff makes a huge difference.
