Do dwarves really make more money than others?

Dwarf Classes Started Last reply 35 posts
I don't see it, I'm a dwarf, I still can't afford anything. I might as well play another class that fights instead of playing a scavenger. I'm level 29 and I have 200K, never got past 300K. I hardly use shots because the're too expensive as well.
you CAN make more money than others. It's not like you play a dwarf and are instantly wealthy. It's a subtle benefit. Spoilers can get more mats than others, bones in particular can make a tidy profit. Warsmiths have the benefit that they can do a craft shop while at work or asleep and ear money with no activity on their part.
maybe I need to consider if this class is for me. Will I have more trouble making money as another class, say a gladiator or a Silver Ranger?
I could make a little money around level 30 by making enchanted jewelry from the orcs near Giran, now after level 40 I crafted a salamander skin mail, a brigandine helmet and a lot of brigandine shields I can sell all of this for a few millions. But the main income is by crafting and selling shots, and this everybody can do it.

Another class? Maybe TH since they get to open chests, though I don't see many TH doing that around.
a dwarf Can make more money than a regular toon... but only warsmiths really these days

shot crafting can be a real money maker IF you can get cg recipes.. (and be able to craft them)

crafting stuff is a good idea if you're a spoiler... get parts/recipe and mats from spoil / xp'ing and its basically free

however one thing that is good to do... while you plink away at ss crafting to watch market for deals / such
There are a few good guides to making adena in L2 here on the forums and I would definitely recommend reading those. The thing to remember is that you need to work at making adena as well as work getting levels. Personally I like to work on the adena before the levels - if you have decent gear waiting for you and able to use things like shots it makes a big difference to you leveling.

I usually recommend to start making adena that you craft shots. You can start with a low initial investment, there are no 'timing' issues like there can be with manor and it is pretty low risk in terms of making adena. It helps if you have your own crafter (or make friends with one ;) ) as you can make shots at your leisure. However there are usually shops about that you can craft off too if you are not an Arti. You just need to know what you are paying for crystals and ore so you know what each shot costs you to make - then sell for more than that. It's simple and a good way to start to learn the market.

Playing a dwarf as a main can be hard work. Most dwarves get leveled to reach a certain craft level and then left at that. More common for someone to have a dwarf alt than a main. Having an alt dwarf can be very handy though.

At those lower levels it is hard to get the initial startup funds to start working on your adena. (300k what I usually recommend to start making D shots) And you might have to spend a while just making adena rather than leveling to gear yourself up. But even using another char slot to roll another char helps alot. (Alot of free stuff and nice quest rewards) also it's a good way to test other classes.

Have Fun out there.
You're better off manoring if you consider the amount of time it'll take to actually get anywhere with a Dwarf. If you can, borrow a few million adena - hopefully you're trusted enough by clannies or friends. That way you can just permanently park your Dwarf in Giran and start buying low, selling high. See, it takes money to make money, which is why it's so difficult to gain adena at first. With a few million, you can maybe start haggling around with D grade weapons or something, I don't know. I had 10 million given to me when I first started (thanks Blow!), which I somehow managed to turn into everything I currently own now  But yeah, if you can't get a small boost in adena from someone, just manor away till you have enough to play around with the adena in Giran.

Err anyways.. being a Dwarf doesn't do you [censored] if you ask me. Play what you want, you don't need to be a Dwarf to get money (all they got going for them is the extra sell/buy slot for free!).

The dev's have nerfed the ability of spoilers a lot over the chronicles, by crapifying the spoil tables. You can still make 'more' money with one, but the amount of effort it takes can be criminal.

From 1-40 the extra income you get from spoils will be hardly enough to really consider. (You level too **** fast for how poor the spoils are...) You will make more money if the manor(s) on your server is in decent shape and the market is halfway decent. There are a few spoils that can return a reasonable amount of extra money, but really not enough to 'make or break' it as a major source of income. Overall, your going to only make a minor % extra over another character.

40-50 is mostly more of the same, with a few exceptions. Around this time however, the cost of using a 1H blunt is going to start to rise at a higher rate than classes which can use other weapons. So even though the spoils, or at least the 'NPC trash', goes up a bit, it will be mostly offset by the increased expenses. (Depending on how much you spam shots.)

Around the top 50's and in the 60's is when you first have an opportunity to get some 'good cash'. And then again around the 70's when you can spoil certain A grade recipes.

But while all this is going on, your toiling under the exact same problem everyone else has...the immense 'money pit' that you have to dig yourself out of to 'gear up'.

And unless you have some good friends to help out, it's probably going to take more than just your spoiler to get through it without major frustration.

If your already L29 and only have 300k, you've already passed some very good points to make money for your level. (Although not all of them yet!) As a spoiler however, you need to go where the good spoils are...even if that means you have to spend more on shots while your there! (As long as the return is good, the cost isn't unmanagable.)

If you want to keep playing a spoiler as your 'main' though, I strongly suggest finding a clan to be a part of. It will probably take some effort to find a good clan, usually ones who play dwarves themselves!, the extra help you give each other while hunting spots that give good spoils can make all the difference in the world.

If the only reason you're playing a dwarf is to make money, then it is not the class for you. Anyone can make money, it just takes a bit of time to learn the market, learn to manor and generally watch your friends level faster than you. Playing a dwarf takes a special kind of person. If you like your dwarf, you MUST be willing to put in the time: spoiling in the same area until the mobs there turn light blue for you then moving on just a bit, the ability to hoard EVERY mat you get and not sell it immediately for a smaller profit, at the lower levels(15-30) do all the available adena/gear quests you can do.

If this is your absolute first toon, go do the armor quest on Kamael starting town(full wooden set), do every soulshot quest(there are 2 that get you enough ss to get you to 20) you will also get a free weapon from the adventure guide cat @ lvl 6 and again when you do your 1st class transfer(these weapons are not TOP, but they will work just fine for what you are going to be spending your time doing with the added benefit of saving you money from not having to buy a weapon at those lvls) and if you are still in the Dwarven Village, take an hour or two and do the GK quest from Whirpy. You will need the gatekeeper tokens you earn from the quest later on when you do your 1st and 2nd class transfers.

What server are you on? Some dwarven players there may be able to help you out ingame.
Scavenger is very special to play, many players delevel them to keep spoiling, you need to decide a goal and stick to it.

You can spoil Breka Orc Archers for enchanted necklace chains and braided hemp then sell it to an artisan. If you set the price right you will sell them well because it's a way to get D Crystals under shop price.
ok Scavenger can not craft ss or make crystals so why is people telling her that I don't know.

Stick with your Scavenger it gets a lot better later. you want get a pet or join a clan with people your lvl and do groups. yes you have share your spoills but you can still make money and have less down time in groups and lvl at the same time.

If you really want to make money with spoil your going have 2 get a box buffer which means another account and then go in the cattas and stay there. by the time you hit apos at 52 you will be cleaning up the spoils are great there and you get greater heal pots from spoils from the first rooms. :D
When I sell SS with my WS I often buy the crystals in Giran and use a lot the crafter corner so a BH can do the same.
Ok, went to check a few things. At your lvl and not using shots, drop back a few lvls and head to Fortress of Resistance, some areas of Cruma Swamp, the Wastelands and Execution Grounds. You will spoil armor parts and get the random D grade drop. If you have a clannie who is a warsmith or even an artisan, have them crush your D grade drops and sell the crystals, atleast for a short time. On Lionna, they go for anywhere from 650-750 depending on where you set up shop.

As I said before, lvling a dwarf is nowhere near as fast or as easy as some other classes. Quests that are available for our class do not compare to some other classes. If you are truly desparate for adena, roll an elf nuker of either race and do all the quests available to them. Check Here (http://lineage2.stratics.com/) for a list of quests and their rewards.

You forget one thing about WS...they have to reg the recipe (the recipe is lost forever) and it will require allot of ppl crafting on you or you crafting the items allot of times to earn what you spent on the recipe.
Even if you got the recipe in a quest or drop, it still costs you allot of adena to reg it...since you loose the adena you could had earned by selling it.
Craft shops over night doesn't bring that great profits...48 hours in craft shop gave me 700k adena (including a tateo craft for 100k). I can make 700k in 30-40min if I hunt (10-20min if I hunt without shots)
I sometimes wish I had gone as a spoiler instead of a crafter on my main...
Playing dwarf is not about making money it is about having fun.

For that you need to team WS+BH or play the two like I do. I create my own quests, for instance make salamander mail, spoil the recipe and the mats then craft it. And I have lot of fun doing that.

My actual goal is to collect Plated Leather, Full Plate, Demon and maybe Divine and Theca too, the recipes then the mats and it should keep me busy for a loooooong time, lol
v true... but i usually run in windowed mode while crafting/watching tv / chatting / market farming...

etc..

but yeah craft shops are basically low afk income
very much easier to raise ton of cash through selling bsps or such

granted going out a killing stuff is good cash at 52+ for sure but below cg... its iffy without buffs... and barely break even with them
OK, what's manor?

Um Ashley I'm guessing that's she's new so buying a pet and getting top gear for it to be somewhat effective is kindof out of the question.

why buy the pet when you can get one for free?
Yea pets are free who the Hell buy Pets?

So is Adena...yet people buy that.
Not all pets are free for the baby pets u need to buy a 500k weapon.
The sin eater requires some expensive mats to craft the chains.
A hatchling is almost free uses very few low lvl mats.
A wolf is absolutly free only hunting and the right answers.

If you also count in talismans you have to buy them too.

Baby pets = useless
Talismans = useless only for looks
Sin eater = isn't a pet you would use for normal grinding (unless you are taking away PK points)
Hatchling = the 10 or so coal/charcoal you need for the quest is that I call free.
Wolf = free and a good damage dealer.
I can get a baby pet from my clan hall and it's lot less then 500K.

In fact you stand in the middle of Giran long enough and some one is bound to give you one after they realize they just cute and about as usefull as a lesser heal pot to a lvl 70+ Tryant.

I did not say they all usefull or good for hunting just that they are not completely free.
Ashley i doesent matter to me if u get them from a paid clanhall u had to bid 2,1 bil on to get and pay 1 mil or more per week cheaper.
If you do the normal quest for them you have to buy a 500k weapon the NPC asks for in order to progress with the quest.

Baby pets = good for nukers for mana regen ( if u have body to mind ) not all ppl have a boxed se follow em.

talisman = dont know dont have one and think never will be

Hatch = if u need a stryder for a ride the only one that is usefull is the star Stryder.

Sin eater= is a pet eats wolf food good for removing PKs and funny stuff.

Wolf= must have for low dps classes
Baby pets (lvl 55+) are going to Evolve in CT1.5 and be able to buff their owners. Here's hoping that they will buff emp, BtS, acumen and clarity, wouldn't that be nice!

They Buffs are going to be

Concentration
Regeneration
Invigor
&
Kiss of Eva :D
By talisman do you people mean Agathions?
Yes and btw remember Phantasy star online ? They had Mags that float after you. You had to feed them to lvl them.
They did heal and buff or did cast a big summon when loaded up from battle.

L2 did just copy em with cubics and Agathions and altered em a bit.
Well sorry, but Agathions are not Talismans, lol. Talismans are limited duration items you put on bracelets and they have various random effects. Agathions are a pet you get from a different Bracelet, that has no other function. And the Agathions have no function other than look pretty. That is why you can have them out with other summons, since they do absolutely nothing.
Kinda know it but since i dont have one myself nor do i have access to some i dont know much aubout them.
I was under the impression that u need to buy a barcelet from fortress and then you get the talismans for some limited time effects. I thought u need to have the aghiton out in order to use the talismans and booth dissapear when the talismans are used up.
No no no. Bracelets are bought from Fortresses with Knights Epaulettes, yes. You also buy Talismans with Knights Epaulettes from Fortresses. Talismans are a limited time item which you put on the bracelet. Depending on the grade of the bracelet, the amount of talismans equipped varies. But the Agathion summoning Bracelet is a totally different item, it has nothing to do with the other two. All it does is allow you to have an Agathion out. And for Fortresses, only the Clanleader of the Fortress holding clan can have one out. The Bracelet costs 5mil(too lazy to log, was 5 or 3) adena instead of Knights Epaulettes and is also sold by the Support Captain NPC which sells all the other items too.
Ahh tnx for clearing that up.
So what happens to the agathion when u loose the castle or fortress can you still use it ?

no because if you loose the fortress the summon becomes angry and chews off your wrist, grabs the bracelet and runs away.
