Regarding the looks both are great in different ways. Female Elfs are **** in an elegant kind of way. Female dwarfs are (like i read in another post) "peppy 12 year old girls acting silly" in terms of cuteness they can´t be beat.
Regarding which is best... Dwarfs are what they were meant to be since the beginning, money makers. Not very good in PvE or PvP (WS do have their use in sieges tho). If you pretend to do anything more than make money before you get your sub, pick any other race. I'd recommend Human, except for a nuker (and for anything but nukers, stay away from DE either).
Ehm... Anyone who knows me knows that the only female characters I really play are humans and dorfs, all of the others are male characters (And yes, I'm a girl. But I'd rather stare at a male if I have to stay in game for hours and hours... :p). The only reason I don't play male humans is because I really don't like the way they look. Same for Light Elves, but I don't like Light Elves in general... And I'm not even mentioning the Dorf males.
But that said...
Kamael Female FTW. Then Human Fighters. Then Dark Elven Females (although their clothing... meh!)

Oh I'll have to agree with this one!! I've played subclassing my Dorf in the PTS in everything and gee, they're so freaking cute in any sub. Although the buffer / nuker subs are much more fun. I haven't tried the tank one, though :)
But I'll never get to Sub anything in the live servers anyway, so... :p

I think I saw you in the Olympaid on PTS I'm not sure the name was similar and it was a female dwarf maestro, although the fight was rather sad.
Also the transformation for the WS, that's overpowered, unbelievably overpowered.
If they made the Dwarf females the same age as their male counterparts, I doubt anyone would play them. Well, maybe some housewives and HDRC supporters would. :D

Wasn't me. My Dorf remained as a sellshop most of the time, and I'm not even playing the PTS anymore. She got some points while I was sitting in craft mode, though. And my Dorf's name has nothing to do with my name in the forums, so :p

- female dwarf is cute, who says they're underaged? dwarfettes just look young, atleast mine does, think about it, would they let children fight huge mobs and use huge deadly weapons? don't think so :P
