You work your butt off to get to lvl 81 (as a SE that can't solo!! geez how easy is THAT????) and you get Lord of Vamp?! That sh8tty skill 1. lasts only few sec 2. re-use delay takes about forever 3. for melees only. And another crappy skill that never lands so I won't even go there.
WTH NC? You apeople must hate SE that much to screw with SE players again and again. Why not just erase all SEs from L2 at once?
Well, I think when I get to 81, I will also be disappointed if some new skill I was looking forward to turns out to be crappy. Getting high-level skills is one of 2 main reasons why I want to level up high. (The other, and lesser reason, being the chance to play in high-level areas, some of which sound challenging.)

i agree it looks like a junk skill, should see reuse with full renewal buffs, might find some use for it if u can find a way to keep it up.
Should be pretty awesome in aoe parties if you could have it up all the time. Or even if you can use it every second pull. Dont complain about everything :/
Anyone who expected a "I win" skill on a SE was pretty dumb.
i want notice that real skill don't reach even very moderate thoughts.
what is the reason continue with exping over 78/79 (where you can get last t1.0 skills)?
:)
What was the reason to ever level a SE past 78? Heck, whats the reason to even level a SE past 3rd CC to enchant Recharge for high mage parties?
eh... protections, blocks and powind. enchant rechage lol. new mana gain skill on 79 is cool for some archer/dagger pt. :P
Arcane Protection is covered by WC's.
Block wont be used, as the SE's arent played "live" anyway.
As to the mana gain skill, it should be useful now with combined buffs, but pointless before as I sure as hell am not dropping a buff to take that craptastic skill.
PoW is the only valid reason to take a SE up, along with recharges for high end mage parties. However, PoW is mainly used as a dagger gank buff, with the SE..again.. being a buff bot.
Lets get real here, no one plays those classes "live" anymore (SE or Prophet). Sure you've got die hards, but they are learning fast to reroll into something more productive.

Having a 77lvl SE on hands, it's quite dumb to roll something. :P LOL, I want 79 on my SE and I will make it one day... maybe... I hope... :) I think, it's still more productive pick up some useful subclass as I realy feel lust for some peeveepee... :D

mana gain is a must in every high lvl party you fool, and yes lot of ppl play live se on my server :O
I like add that I made SE, EE, PP, WC all lvl 82 on PTS and guess what Buffer I end up using? :p
the DC?
I think EE is way better then a SE!!! by a mile....the only thing that SE is good at is MPing others, and doing a few tinny buffs that other classes get.
The problem is EE gets mana gain also. SE gets VR, + vr (PoW), + aoe VR, then Zanken, and anatharas. I mean where does the VR stacking stop?
I do admit I like the HoT effect on the heals from SE, cause having a HoT running means a GHP I don't have to use.
However the uselessness that has become the SE class is something else.
I really dont know what SE's are good for to be quiet honest. EE's are certainly better rechargers for Dwarves. EE's are better mage buffers 78+, especially considering Emp comes in bottle and PoW dosent. Even considering Clarity you can now get, that was rare compared to Emp scrolls.
Better heals by a mile, trance, etc etc... just all stacks up in EE's favor.

I just have an SE buffing what the hell I need another buff slot for I haven't even ran out yet.
EE are nice but not just the lack of VR. no DW no Focus no guidedance. Things that greatly help in PVE and big time with a dagger.
Untill DC can give MP I have no use for it as a buffer. Beside I like my SE it don't have 2 be in party to buff any of it's buffs. it can buff me as I hunt I don't have stop and buff (yay macros) and I like the HOT. that way if I get over heal I'm still fighting and all the hp is not wasted I' still getting hp with the HOT. Besides with the VR and my damage I really don't need that many heals even at 77+. My dagger critts (with DW and Focus) gives me back the HP I need and Wind riders Critt a lot. Plus I have on NM Light :D
Not gonna teach you anything and i m not the one who buffs crap like resist unholy resist shock holy weap dance of light (lol) and who plays on a server where debuffs take buffslots lmao, you inbreed.

actually, there is some mobs debuffs that do take a buffslot and cant be removed with cleance or any other way. my guess is they [censored] up on those debuffs for some reason, hopefully fixed till CT1+
in anycase. SEs arent really bad as healer for a meele party that largely relies on VR and i personally also like the HoT i just wish it was somehow affected by buffs or use of SpS or bSpS and that the HoT didnt take buffslots.
that lord of vamp buff do seem abit too little for a 81 skill imo. if they had included meele skill damage aswell into the VR effect it would be really nice for PvP for like daggers or other high damage meele classes.
if i remember right it was MoS upper levels. it gave surrender to holy as a buff instead of debuff so it took up a buff slot. now i havent been there for sometime but thats how it was last i were there.
I think I got some buff-debuff in CC or mansion dont remember exactly where...but it was debuff and i couldnt cure it w/ cleanse cuz it was in buff bar.
I just wanted to jump in and say, that i've played my SE as main healer in FoG parties already.... Sure it was pretty hard, and i had some backup heals from the WC, but anyways...
Sure, i always complain about my SE, but she has a wide range of uses. Even if I end up as a walking mana potion ;)
It all depends on your clan and the support you get...
It's not about "your" class, it's about what chars are available and how they can play together... So, it's ok if you say "EE is better recharger" but if there's no EE available?
I will play my SE to 81+, even if i was a little bit disappointed on PTS, but *shrug* who cares... As long as i have a nice group, i will enjoy my class, and I'm sure i will find some uses for LordVamp and ThroneRoot...
you are, no one saves buffslots for debuffs you idiot since they don't knock buffs out. Go back to your hole.
LOL ;)
Figure out where I hunt with those buffs, then go to that area and tell me if the "debuff" they cast isnt counted as a buff, cuz it sure as hell is lady.
You are, no one saves buffslots for debuffs you idiot and takes resist shock instead of managain. Go back to your hole.
I would take Resist Shock rather than Mana Gain :) I also need to leave several buffslots open for all my selfbuffs, so debuffs taking those slots are a bad thing. Depends on the class really.
Mana gain is awesome, i know a lot of MS that would be just be sitting on the ground to regen if it weren't for it. Works great to keep the cardinal in a raid/instance group full of mp at a low cost to the recharger.
EE>SE at MP recharge department - EE casts faster, regenerates same amount of MP with LESS MP costs (clarity) and have better MP regen (higher MEN). Now they even have bless of eva which regenerates target's mp to FULL!
EE has always been better than SE in healing department too - would you take a SE over EE for PvP really? VR don't mean sh8t when you have WC+EE combo. Even WC+PP > any SE combos.
So what do SEs get now? Lousy useless skills again even at 81! LOL Please, if NC hates SEs this much, just erase all SEs already and give us a break!

SE> EE in the Buffing department. and Now with CT1.5 SE has a Buff for M defense. DW and Focus takes 1 Buff spot now. Empower and M defense takes 1 buff spot.
And what mellee class will take EE's POW over a SE's POW?
And the AOE Root that SE's get is not useless at all.
I play mostly melees and a SH. If I can only choose between an SE and a EE to play with those classes, I will take the SE. That's hypothetical of course, but I'm just saying ...
"The Forgotten Scrolls for these new skills drop off of specific boss monsters (Baium, Frintezza, Valakas, and Beleth.)"
Have fun. Said so in Patch notes.
Charmy.. you are wrong - your quote is from the level 81 skills - here is the full quote:
"New High-Level Skills
New skills that can be acquired at level 81 have been added. Unlike previous skills, SP is not consumed to learn these new skills. When you double-click on the Forgotten Scroll, the applicable skill is automatically acquired. The Forgotten Scrolls for these new skills drop off of specific boss monsters (Baium, Frintezza, Valakas, and Beleth.)
The new skills, all of which are acquired at level 81, are listed below."
Where the combo buffs are discussed are located in the new skills section.....
It is assumed that they are drops from mobs, but no one has of yet found out - has anyone checked with SB NPC in the Ivory Tower - I would check now, but still at work.
Could be either Ash - the true is that the release notes (as all of the release notes) do not tell the whole story.
Agreed totally. Something I think we are use too eh? :P
I had (assumed) that they would drop from epic bosses as well, along with the 75 BD/SWS dance/song.. just because of the "nature" of the skill, that you didnt go to a trainer to learn.
Only way to tell would be to de-level a bit on the PTS and get a party for Baium.
Well, there is NO books for sale on the cats that would allow you to learn them, but there is forgotten scrolls that you use to learn them. And the only info given about forgotten scrolls is that. Until you show a mob that drops forgotten scrolls, I'll stick to those being the only ones.

Since you brought up *BUFFs*, well, PP's/WC's buffs > SE's.
So is there somethign that SEs can do better than other buffer/healer/recharger class? I can't find it.
That new AoE root skill SEs get don't land at all at high level places please! Even if it does land, it lasts few secs only so what's the point really? PoW is the only thing that's worth the effort to grind a SE to lvl 78 but it's not THAT good either compares to WC's CoV (and PP's PoF in some cases). And they don't stack!
EE's PoW is meant for nukers and surely most experienced nukers will pick a lvl 78 EE over lvl 78 SE to duo with nowadays.
I regret that I grind my SE to 78, LEGALLY. I should've stopped at lvl 52 years ago.
Thx for nothing, especially that lead designer who doesn't even play/grind/party with real legit players!
Those books are *rare* and drop from specific raidboss ONLY. So to get the combo skill, you are expected to pay least 500m for each book!
So forget about it if you don't have the bling bling or not in some big kickass zergy clan.
awesome...just F'n awesome....way to screw up again NCdumbbutts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think the general concept behind this is valid. Getting a set of say, Majestic Armor or a good A grade weapon, or even S grade gear, ought not to neccesarily take a year or 2 of effort. That's just dumb, as that's like basic equipment. But some things beyond basic gear and skills for top levels ought to take something specila to get, including organizing and maintaining a strong enough clan/alliance to get them. And I think it's perhaps appropriate that combo buffs might fall into that category of elite stuff.
