I get the impression that the petition system isn't being used to it's fullest as Spam would wish. That a person making a petition is just like a person using a seat belt, that it's to much of a hassle.
If thats the case....Is it the interface thats the problem or the one way communication with the first tier GM?
I don't mind autoresponses, it's just the petition system (http://boards.lineage2.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=1056425&an=0&page=0#Post 1056425) that annoys me more. Specially if I am in the middle of doing my stuff, it just takes too long if I have to click through choices, links, 3/4 of time I get "811;Garden of Eva" and have to resubmit ...
And of course everybody relies on others that they have reported it. But it's just too much of spam, people resigned.

I completely agree. I actually made a petition and it was closed but they asked me to petition again. Nothing about "more info".
The whole **** problem would be solved if NCsoft prevented trial accounts from SENDING pms, they could still be allowed to receive and reply to pms. That would be easy to implement and would fix the whole god **** spam problem.
yeah an insert name on click function would solve the bot (aasfasdfa, IllllII|||iiIi) not reportable name problem - hatin always having to type all those characters in the petition problem.
What Sovrath said. This week I sent in a petition on a quest problem. I got back a petition asking for the name of ____. I couldn't tell what they needed the name of, because all the writing was cut off on the rifgt side of the dialogue box, for each line in the reply. Other than that, the GM was actually rather nice in his response, offering to increase my total petitions allowed by 1 for that day. Still .....
And if they dont allow pms they will march giran / mdt GK and spam in white chat. And if they dont allow white chat they will spam with emails. And if they dont allow emails you have new(lol? :s) players unable to communicate with anyone to ask about the game. Lose-Lose situation imo. Ip ban is the key!

No, it is the key, your just too blind to see it. NCSoft NA doesn't want to do it because they WANT the income from those accounts. Well, duh, not the trail accounts, the accounts farming adena behind those trail accounts. There were so many things NCSoft could of done AGES ago to stop that [censored]; but they didn't, they didn't want too.
It's not the petition system. I have reported many spammers but did that stop? No. So I checked off Whisper and now I don't pay attention to these messages any longer.
NCSoft needs to change the trial rules to fix this, for instance by letting paid account refer for trial accounts, and if the trial account spams then the paid account could no longer refer anyone. This or another solution, many have been presented.

Go ahead, ban IP's. Eventually *everyone* will be banned, because the majority have dynamic IP's.
Hell, ban by IP and it wont do *anything*, as all you'd have to do is grab another IP..and another.. and another.. and another.

"Thank you for your understanding"? I don't have any of those.... So they take no action against people killed by Witch Warders and they encourage people not to spawn because it might disturb other players' gameplay. Try not to have fun in Lineage 2 because this may disturb other players' gameplay? UNDERSTOOD!
As for spammers/bots, I petition someone at least twice a day. He's still there. I'll get him killed and his buffers spam heal on each other + try to resurrect him for 10 minutes until they run out of mp, then they die. He never loots the seeds of evil that drop on that island (even if it's right next to his loot, and there is over a hundred on the ground - he still doesn't loot the shards despite looting every single other item). He's been in the same spot for over a week now. As far as I can tell ncsoft either doesn't bother with it or they're just too swamped to do anything about it (lack of personnel in the company for this position?). In any case, petitioning is completely useless because I've never once seen it accomplish anything except /unstuck stuff back in Prelude.
I have seen in this and other subjects referring to the gm's being outsourced to India. Is this just a rumour or is there a link I can read up on it. Thanx for the info. It is troubling if it is true.
Well, i did have a live convo during us night time with a gm a while back, where the gms english wasnt as good as mine (and mine aint good either), but he was understandable, so it could be some work is outsourced to india, but that doesnt make it bad.
Today i did get a fun reply to a adena adverter i reported, said they were going to escalate my problem to a higher lvl gm... (probably pressed the wrong quick reply button, but still <<)

Yes, NCsoft has GM work outsourced to India. They are stationed right out of New Delhi. That is where all the lower tier GM's work. It's a fairly large complex. These guys work 24/7 around the clock whilst the head honchos aka upper tier GM's work in Austin Texas only a few hours a day.
