I have 3 people in my clan botting and I cannot kick them because they are engage in combat? WHAT THE DO I GOT TO DO TO GET RID OF THEM?
Nevermind the problem this makes with wars if someone is farming your rep points u cant kick the person or stop the war to stop the bleeding either. I AM A CLAN LEADER I SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO KICK ANYONE I **** WELL PLEASE AT ANY **** TIME!

When the rep points run out, the people killing them will probably get bored and walk away...or continue deleveling them until Elpies glow bright red. It could go either way. :D
Why would be a better question, but it does add a element to the game. (Spies, as has already been said. Gotta be careful since you can lose thousands of rep points very quickly)
Democracy? Who the hell said clans are run by democracy? I'm not the leader of our clan, but I've had a few cases where we found a botter and I couldn't kick him right away as he was in combat, and yeah that sucks [censored]. But as Ashane said, it has been like this since c5.
in my opinion, you live in the U.S.A., where democracy feels in the atmosphere. so it's obvious that democracy's valuables must be somewhere in the game too. xD

A clan should be run however the leader wants it to. If the leader wants to be the end all and be all and the clan members are fine with that then I say "run with it".
If the clan leader wants his members to have more of a say, say that is fine as well.
Each clan should be run as the clan member says. Also, it's a korean game. I remember way back when there was a discussion about clans and how they were run. one of the things discussed was just that, the leader was the law, it was his/her clan and what he/she said goes.
Still, I think a clan leader should be able to kick whover they want out whenever they want.
The game is made in Korea and is set into a fantasy setting ruled by Town states... WHY ON EARTH WOULD THERE BE ANYTHING ABOUT DEMOCRACY IN IT? Not to mention the whole structure of the clans and alliances speak against it.

Psh. My clan's a republic.
Our members have a say, but ultimately it's the council of leaders that makes decisions.
Democracy is not meant for war. If you want to do war, you need a tyranny.
It depends if you want to be frolicking carebears killing mobs or if you want to give your clan a position in the world by taking castles and ruling over RBs.

And some koreans love to protest us being there as u.s. soldiers helping to preserve thier democracy and keep north korea out. And some americans want to take our democracy away.
Back on subject, if we can (grrr), a clan leader should be able to set rules, dismiss members, etc, as he wants. If the clan members don't like it, they get to vote with their feet. The OP had a legitimate complaint, and the discussion in this thread has really gotten twisted away from that.

From a technical standpoint, this is done to stop people from exploiting and causing someone to go red when they attack someone they are at war with. Think about how many kiddies out there would drop a war when their party was about to die, knowing they can be rezzed and hunt you down for your gear. The same thing goes for kicking people from clan.
Heck thats a novel idea the clan leader allowed to boot people in his clan who would of thought of that.
And how the heck do you screen recurits better? No one can watch someone 24/7 and sometimes people wont bot till they are in a clan sometimes they bot when they finnaly get frustrated please.
All your solutions blow only one i would accept is allowing to boot whoever i like. All you guys cry about the problem with wars well how about this what about the people that get a spy in your clan and start farming your rep points and u cannot do anything to stop since there is no way to locate clan members another feature l2 lacks.
So come on smart guy think of a good reason why this change was needed?
You can't really 'screen recruits better'--although our clan's process is pretty good.
We have an application process, then a waiting period, and finally a private vote by existing members who have partied with the applicant and spent some time in-game with them.
Even that doesn't assure that you KNOW the new player--but it's something.
Our clan leader often says "I ALWAYS find out if you're cheating"--and he pretty much does. I'm sure some could get away with it once or something--but overall those who repeatedly cheat will probably get caught.
It doesn't take many questions to determine that the newbie playing for one week doesn't have legitimate explanations for having 20 million adena.
As for botting--we tend to catch those folks eventually too.
My only guess for the "can't drop while in combat" rule is that when CRP actually gained value the devs didn't want you to be able to drop a member while engaged in combat just to save CRP.
Finally, a civics lesson:
America isn't and never has been a democracy. Thomas Jefferson was quoted as saying he could not love one!
America has some democratic principles, just as it has capitalist principles and even socialist principles.
But it isn't a democracy in any sense of the word.
Direct democracy is a failure and there are reasons we would never allow it!
If you want to start a clan with strict democratic rules--then you can. If you are in a clan--the CL is the absolute authority as a dictator (benevolent or otherwise).

Correct. Same goes for forcelogging (it is supposed to protect from account hijacking). Both can be easilly solved by a 45 seconds timer (time between click and effect). Simple solution. But it's NC we are talking about.

Sort of... it would probably work better if it just marked the person as kicked. As soon as that person goes out of combat mode, they could be immediately kicked.

Who is "all you guys" crying about wars and what the hell does that have to do with this? Be more stupid please?
No one in those post has ever cried about wars that I've seen. At least your thread title fits since it describes your cry baby rant perfectly.
You said you didnt want the bad rep associated with it. You WONT get that bad rep if you clearly label them as BOTTERS on their title, since anyone with half a ounce of brain power will realize they will be removed at the first chance you get.
So come on smart guy think of a good reason why this change was needed?
Mr T already gave you the answer slow guy.
I'm sorry if you dont "get it" or agree with it, but thats the primary reason it was changed. Deal with it.
Trying to avoid the forum word filter is an offense. Watch out, KGB might be behind your door already, you remnant of the cold war.
From Armenian Radio:
Q: Is it true that there is freedom of speech in the Soviet Union the same as there is in the USA?
A: In principle, yes. In the USA, you can stand in front of the White House in Washington, DC, and yell, "Down with Reagan!", and you will not be punished. Just the same, you can stand in the Red Square in Moscow and yell, "Down with Reagan!", and you will not be punished.
:D
if u didnt read the reason people said was so they wouldn't go red on war tags, like high level people are afraid to go red all of sudden.
Ok lets put this into perspective. You see a wartag. You are currently at 5 pks (this shouldnt matter because it is a wartag and you don't go red). As you are about to deliver the finishing blow, the war ends and you go red. Before you have time to click your precious bsoe or log out, a party of wartags (formerly) come around the corner and kill you. You drop your <insert valueable item here>. Now, lets say this valueable item happens to be a valakas necklace.
Sounds fair right? I mean, high lvls aren't afraid to go red right?
any real pvp clan has either a clan hall or a fortress one bsoe away from safety or just pk everyone around. There are many people who have over 100 pks on their mains i dont think going red is much of an issue anymore because people just die off the karma.

I am so glad you actually read my post....... dot dot dot
You keep requesting answers that I already gave to you. If you cannot see how this could be exploited then I cannot help you.
Oh i forgot rep points are much easier to get then working off karma....
Please this is just as badly exploited they fix one problem and break another. They just should put the old war system back where two clans have to mutually accept a war. You keep pking a clan till it gives into a war or just take the 4% the war system now is a joke.
