Is there a reason why Overlord can't buff own pet?

as it stands right now, i am a 77 dominator and when i buff up - my wolf does not get any clan buffs. I mean it was bad news to me when i heard that i wont get anymore invites from alliance, i can now only party clan members effectively, and its ok i can adapt and live with that. But not being able to buff my own pet is not good. Is there a reason that actually makes sense as to WHY that is?

Upcoming patch will give your own pet the clan buffs, as well as your clan members pets/servitors.
