i quit l2 over a year now, and jus a lil over 2 weeks ago i decided to give l2 another try.
Alot of the same OLD problems still exist today and have "not" been fixed, nor addressed. I'm talking about overbuffing. Fully buffed our group is rdy to teleport out into a zone where we know enemy is about to blackscreen us, yet we are rdy to fight back, and whats happening... some lowb toons cast (kiss of eva/blazing skin/concentration/empower/weight reduction/resist water/etc....) on warrior type classes, and on mystic type classes (might/focus/dw/guidance/kiss of eva/blazin skin/weight/etc../etc.....) this causes overbuffing and you losing important buffs that increase your stats. This is really bad that nothing has been done to fix that.
Another problem i see as an overlord, is ppl who where afk or didnt move far enuf, lost important buffs cuz i was buffing my mage parties.
There is one solution to fix all that, it does not look too complicated, simply introduce a list of buffs in the new 3rd tab next to active/passive skills, which will include the buffs that your main or sub class would like to ignore, which wont be applied.
This way an overlord can be standing in the middle of his clan and cast all his/her buffs and not overbuff anyone who didnt want certain buffs, and the other problem i mentioned earlier will also be fixed.
If you know and have any comments/ideas... plz discuss
i would really like for this to be fixed.
Well L2 is a game of advantage and yea kinda stinks to be overbuffed but its just one of those tactics used. All I can suggest is dont buff near the gk maybe a little bit outta the way within the town. You can at least make it difficult for them for that way.
Dances and Songs on their own bars kinda takes away from buffing up smart imo. Lets get all buffs and all songs/dances weeeeee, but I guess it also depends how many song/dance would be allowed on their own bar like if it was 6 it wouldnt be as bad making it 10 or something. Maybe people would not do it anyways as mp consumption is pretty wild if you do a lot.
24 buffs that are needed, you are supposed to buff as best you can to deal with the situation you are in. Just being able to buff that crazy amount I feel takes away from the intelligence needed to buff 'properly'. I could have misunderstood what you meant of course but my thing is the buffing situation atm is fine and makes it challenging in knowing your mobs/your group/your enemy.
im trying to figure out how this is a bad thing.... over buffing the enemy is a good strategy. You can always buff outside of town if you dont want a lowbie buffer to over buff you.
OL shouldn't be buffing, their main purpose is to cast seals, and CP/HP heals in mass pvp. Sela of limit, seal of blockade, among other useful seals.
Only useful buff that a OL can cast with out ******* of a bunch of clanies is WW. if I get shield blessing from a OL as a dagger it would piss me off, cause thats one less butt slot that could of been used with something useful, Like wise if a tank gets zerk from a Ol it would piss off the whole clan('s) *raid party.* Like wise a mage don't want guidance.
Shield, WW, magic barrier. If its really high lvl that clan COV thing. But yah.. cp heals and seals are prolly what they gonna use most of their mp on.
Overbuffing is a strategy. Do I like it? No. Do I use it? No.
But you can avoid it. Buff in your ch/some random building away from gk and run to port. They already made a few buffs in party only(mostly for the raids) but anyway was some help..

other wise over buffing is a valid tactic.
:( Those are pretty much all 79+ skills. From L40 to then. what is an OL supposed to do?
(Not even mentioning the low land rate on most seals anyway...)
Well, anyway, in CT2 this problem is going away... since songs and dances will have their own buff line, and you can click on unwanted buffs to remove them.
BD/SwS with clarity.... lvl 65... can sustain up to 10 songs/dances no problems at all...
By sustain you would think that means not going out of mana.. impossible at 65 without several rechargers ;) like 2K mana or so every 2 minutes, don't think so.

Move BD and SwS outside of each other.
BD---------------Party---------------SwS.
BD doesnt get Songs, SwS doesnt get dances. But the party in the middle gets both. So yea its possible to keep that many songs/bd's up, even at 65 ^^
it's possible in xp areas where u have the bd on one side and the sws on the other with the main party in the middle, seen it work fine that way in Imp Tomb killing those group mobs
