I gather you all liked my little poll last week (adena ad poll). A bit less serious, and an obviously leaning on the answers -- although I did allow for "cool" to make it remain a valid poll. There ARE other opinions out there and although against the EULA and detrimental, I suppose there still were 6 people that agreed with it :)
In any case, there was a surge of !@$#%^! votes (nearly 50%) indicating the clear frustration, one suicide, whom I think was Spudnik (oh noes!), 9 NCsoft-flames (for a 2nd place position! ah the angry rabble in the streets!) and another 9 split separately between stupid and ridiculous, generally anti-adena ad sentiment. Even if all those who voted don't ethically disagree with adena ads I believe it's right to say they've come along a bit too strongly, and now are plain annoying people.
Moving on now back to serious topics...
With the high European population packed tightly in only two European servers and included in many of the NA servers, the newly planned European server of Luna is producing a lot of talk amongst the L2-fan base. My own former clan is discussing a full move to Luna from Devianne. But a lot of the plans of individual players may depend on the nature of the server transfers themselves.
Should server transfers be allowed immediately upon opening Luna? Would the rush of high level players without a natural lower-level player base create a worse-than-normal-unstable economy? Would it become more competitive than normal? Is it the only way to go to prevent the bot-prone environment that is bound to occur if there are loads of people trying to catch up with newly created Luna characters?
I think they should wait 6 months before opening transfers. The ones that do transfer have a pile of adena, the ones that don't and start new. Need that much time to establish themselfs.
I voted no because I have a huge amount of friends that will quit WoW to play on a new L2 server because of the fun they had in beta/c1/c2. I'd rather play L2 with my friends than play WoW with them. They want the same but only if a new server comes out so they can start fresh with the whole server and not compeat with level 80 with full S grade and epics -.-
i vote no too for a few of the reasons mentioned here
- lowest grade pvp is still the best out there
- chance to run into new people and make new friends/allies (guess ya can do that when ur high lvl but atleast if ya got a fresh population you can halfly estimate who is legit and who well aint :P)
- And a chance for random new people (even tho they are few and far in between) to join and not having to compete with S80 graders
- AND i am starting 2 dwarfs cause i am nuts and i hope i can get atleast a few parties on a busy server :P
i voted yes cause i d really wish to stop being a vampire and sieging at 4 am and doing olympiads at 2-8 am.
i voted yes cause for some of us is the only reason we re still playing and hoping to transfer (maybe in vain, but hope dies last) and meet friends again.
i voted yes cause its bad playing in empty servers and unfortunately, the other 2 euro sevrer dont seem to open again.
I voted no because if I am going to play Luna, which I haven't decided yet, that will be with new characters and it will be pointless to do it if server transfers open day 1.

definitely not.
many things changed on my side since i started playing.
eg im a dad! so, no time to play from scratch.
besides that, i have an emotional attachment with my toons. cant leave em back. better quit than reroll (like many other europeans are doing lately, at least on lionna).
i know alot of euros in your position doing exactly that tho (the rerolling part), the grind has been, well lestened so it will most likely take less time to get to the point ya at and will prolly be faster to lvl if there is any sign of normal/high load like the otherr 2 eu servers, but cant break emotional bonds with chars ever (which kept me pulling back to gustin each time i tried to go toa euro server) and back to gustin each time i quit >_<
No, for me sicne if its fresh i will be playing with a good amount of friends who will start with me, which is more fun than transfering my high levels over. :)
