Well I've put it off as long as I can, and mulled it over to the point that I'd like to push a fork through an eyeball, and I still can't decide on a sub. It used to be as simple as "Which class do I wanna play next?" but now they're talking about adding bonuses to my main class, and it's left me with a dilemma.
Do I choose something that makes my main class stronger, or choose something that's strong in and of itself? And if I do choose to compliment my main, does anyone have any solid numbers on, say, the casting speed bonus that a summoning class is supposed to give a nuker? Seems like that'd be pretty mean on a StS.
My other concern is, if I choose an unrelated class (One that's not all that helpful to my main, but is strong by itself) I can only get to 80 while everyone's main will be able to progress to 85. Now my brain hurts.
So at this point I think I have it narrowed down to either
A) A Phantom Summoner for the quick and dirty casting speed bonus to the main class, as well as some neat summons. (And from what I hear, they're getting Death Sike later, which could make them pretty mean.)
or
B) Gladiator. Let's face it. They hurt.
I'm not looking for someone to tell me what class to play, just some answers as to whether or not it's a big concern with the new content on the way. Any opinions are appreciated, as well.
Depends if you like playing your main. If you are just gonna lvl your sub till say 75-76 just to hit noble and get the skills i'd go for PS for sure.
If you are bored of your main and you are probably gonna lvl up your sub as much as possible and hope they implement a sub-main swap event or paid service I'd say go gladi.
I love my main, actually, but I'm not opposed to having two really strong classes, if possible.
The goal, eventually, would be to take all of classes, mains and subs, to their max levels. Probly wouldn't swap a sub for my main even if I could. Just wondering whether it would be more worthwhile to pick a complimenting class, or just pick something that's really mean by itself.
I'd still really like some numbers or insight from those on the PTS. Don't be afraid to speak up. ^_^

I had the same dilemma. When I found out they were adding bonuses for subs.
As it stands, it took me a long time to decide between Glad and Destroyer (took what was my first choice, destroyer).
But when they mentioned the bonuses I had the same thoughts as you. Should I choose something that benefited the main.
I ended up with this decision: of all the available classes I picked destroyer because I wanted to play it and none other was of interest to me. So regardless of the benefits of another class, it still really would not have been of interest to me.
I say play what you want and just accept the bonuses as "gravy".
