what countries servers are those? .my?
Southeast Asia servers.

Some of the best servers there are frankly, very close to as good as L2 Korea if not better. Extremely active GM's, events everywhere, botters being locked down very hard. (Still some, but they are doing a very good job)

Before you ask, no you cant play over there without some "magik".
Why do I get a feeling that L2 NA is considered just some "rubbish, junk, leftovers, rich capitalistic pigs, feed more farmers there!" ... nobody taking this region seriously in NC :(
Yeah, I'm sure it's purely a money thing, they have more people that play there so they can have more staff and get more involved or whatever. Only people that truly know the answer won't ever tell any of us so all we can do is drool.

Thats actually incorrect.

They have less players in the SEA market then the NA market. (Alot less actually... )

Their servers are typically at medium(ish), and there are two, Aria and Blackbird. We know that Medium server status would put it at about 4000-6000 connections. Not even what Teon has at prime time, let alone Franz & Bartz.

The reason their servers are so much better is purely because they have the decision making power on their servers, unlike NA which has absolutely no decision making power.
Yeah that makes sense, why do they have that power though? Seems like if we have more people we would make more money and more money = more power. Whats missing?
The Southeast servers don't belong to NCsoft. I'm under the impression that they bought the rights and they don't have to run the servers as NCsoft would, unlike the NA servers which are directly under the company.
Magik?

I miss the Squash event!

Correct, they purchased the license from NCSoft to run their own servers.

That means they CANNOT modify the code directly... However...

They are free to modify any rates they wish (drop, exp, spoil, sp). They are free to run any event they wish from the past. They are free to run their own special events. They are free to modify siege schedules, host special sieges, etc. They are free to modify how/when hero competition.

Etc Etc, you get the picture.
On the other hand they only got Kamael today.

That is actually a plus for them, because how long have they been live?

Not long at all, and they've already "caught up".

They *will* get updates before us. Watch and see :)
So basically they are a legal private server, with far superior service and performance compared to the NA servers. GG.
What Na should have done from the beginning. If they would have we would have 3-4x the players we have now.
agreed - NA should get more control over what they can and can not do - after all we NCNA play the game a lot different than NCK does.
in the very old OB days of these forums, the korean dev i remember clearly said that na is not their concern and will not be ever. said pretty bad things about the euro gamers too that we dont take online games serious enough lol ^^

i believe they have a new team now, but nothing seems to have changed?
