LF Olympiad fight. Please fix this.

For the month of April I have been signed up for Olympiad for 50+ hours in game. So far I have managed to get 1 fight (got 4 points), before the Olympiad got shut down again.

Last night I was signed up, but on my subclass. I was getting the "not enough waiting" message for some time. While fighting mobs, I must have missed the message that I was about to be summoned to Olympiad. I was disqualified and lost 3 points. I didn't see the disqualification message (if there was one), so I missed Olympiad last night also.

Looking at the Olympiad info on this web site I see two items:

"Once transported to the coliseum, if a character abnormally leaves the game, he will lose the competition."

"If the player changes from the main class to a subclass after applying for the competition, he/she will be ineligible to compete."

I was never transported to the Olympiad, so I see no reason for me to lose 3 points. This should be fixed.

Also, the players need more control over system messages. In general there are only two messages that I want to see (spoiled mobs and Olympiad), and I want them to be bright red so that they stand out from all the other gray text.

Doesn't it look like the answer to your question? You registered, went on subclass so got disqualified (and lost points)? I'm just guessing, I'm not even near to noblesse/oly ;)

If your overweight, more than 63/80 items, or on a subclass, u auto lose the points and dont go in

sorry mate, but you must be on ur MAIN class to enter oly.

you cannot be over 60% of your item invent or be over weight.

you must wait for the sign up by the olympiad manager to avoid any errors or outside interuptions.

are you signing class based? most ppl tend to fight open, unless you have the situation of major power players who must defeat each other to get hero.

My main class is WS and my sub is SH. I was hunting Ketra Orcs for molars. I kill much faster on the subclass, so that is what I hunt with.

I was signed for open competition. There are not enough noblesse crafters to activate Olympiad on Erica.

I guess I did not make something clear. I can not afford to spend 50+ hours a month waiting on my main class, hoping for Olympiad to start. I was expecting to hunt on my subclass, and switch to my main when I got a disqualification notice. I probably wont want to do that if I lose points. It might be worth it if I only lost a few points, but could get my 9 fights, but that is not happening for me.

I once signed for Oly and went to siege. Didn't see that i got a count. Non the less, when I was about to die I saw the count down from 5. Lost 30 points :(

first time ur a noble ok ^^ you cant sign and hunt on ur sub or even main, cus ull miss the count and lose points. put it down to being a noob and move on^^

u can only oly with 9 nobles signed, so if they aint signing then u aint fighting. plan and simple as that.

trying to be a hero is down to dedication to camp the manager OR be in a clan that has plenty of nobles. your call there.

if there aint enough nobles then id strongly consider moving server.

it's erica ... there's not enough actives there to make a full group much less do oly :p

Seriously though, on the more inactive servers dont expect to get any oly action till the last 2-3 days of the month, nobody bothers. The rest is as the people above me said, when the countdown ends the system attempts to tp you to the oly stadium, if for any reason it cant tp you you forfeit the match and loose points... (any reason = you are on a sub / are over 80% weight or inventory / logged out during the countdown.)

Just a litle question on oly about loosing points.
Lets say ur registered and u eventually log out. while logged out u get summon to participate, do u loose points then or not. I duno anything about olympiad, so this scenario might not be possible, but if it was, i would like to know if u can loose points for not being logged in.

When you log out/restart/dc, you are not signed anymore. Unless you logout/restart/dc after getting a count, u dont lose points

You are almost right. Except that I did check the web site before I tried this. There is no mention of losing points if you miss the count, only if you log out after being teleported to the arena.

Being a noob is not the issue. One issue is, can I come to this web site and get accurate information to help me chose what I want to do in game. The answer is no. NCsoft has not accurately documented one of the most important parts of the high end game.

It is nice that people can come here and tell me how it works, but it is irrelevent. A second issue is the Olympiad is broke.

I should be able to hunt, on any subclass, and get notice of Olympiad starting without penalty. I can then change to my main class and equipment and join in the fighting. The fact that I spent 50+ hours on my subclass, waiting for Olympiad, should be a clue that something is wrong.

Why should I "move on". Why should I accept a lame set of restrictions? The point of this post is to get something changed. I imagine there are a lot of people who would like to hunt their subclass while waiting for Olympiad.

Perhaps a person registered for Olympiad would get an invite to fight when it starts. How about a red icon somewhere on the screen, that turns green when there are 9 people registered. Instead of a message saying there are not enough people waiting, how about saying how many people are waiting?

Instead of posting that someone is a noob, how about actually making an intellegent suggestion to improve the Olympiad system?

Also, I should not have to change servers or join the single large clan on Erica, in order to "compete".

Look at the title of this post. Olympiad is broke for many reasons. I have mentioned a few things that could be fixed. I am willing to accept a 50 hour wait, as long as I don't have to do it sitting in town, restricted to my main class.

The point of this post is to get something changed.

You and a whole slew of other people want something in L2 changed.

Do we have good reasons for a change? Most of us do.
Will the change happen? Ha!

People were only not signing because they wanted changes from kamael plus,

only kratos was spamming hero shout cos his overlord gets nerfed :P

I think the "120" system message being in red or purple or yellow is a good idea, though.

From what I can see, the only Erica heros that compete are the few in RR that can get points. They shout in hero chat for people to sign up, and I do, but still no fights.

Unfortuantely, almost all of the Erica heros are in RR. I can only guess that the less capable competitors wait till the end of the month to have points passed to them. The points must be collected by their top competitors during the first part of the month.

The month of the mass exodus from Erica was the first month the maestro competition was not fixed. I got enough fights vs. "average" players to make hero. The next month I was lucky to get 9 fights, after waiting many hours at the Olympiad manager. This month is not looking much better.

Welcome to last year - the Oly system is so messed up, the only way to fix it is to remove it.
