Are the ingame GM's on strike?

General Discussion Started Last reply 38 posts
I am posting here to complain about the level of support supplied by the in game GM's. They take hours to reply to Petitions. I sent one about an hour ago about those spammers that PM you. I have still yet to receive a reply. Also I was assured by a GM on teh support site that in-game GM's have teh powert to ban these spammers yet up to 24 hours after I report them and GM's have acknowledged my petition they are still in game spamming.

I have complained thru the support website with no success. From what I was told on the support website thru my petition is that the In Game GM's have the power to ban these spammers immediately. So what gives? are the In Game GM's on strike or working really slowly? Even after they reply it takes them at least a minimum of 6 to 8 hours to ban these spammers. This is something that should be done within minutes of receiving the report.

Hi SPAM I know you dont like me but I will raise a stink about everything I have a problem with :) I am just doing my job as a customer.
the GM's have to be working for them to go on strike......

hugs...
update 2 hours into my current petition and still no acknowledgement of my petition from the GM, still awaiting a response. I cannot subit any more in game petitions because im waiting for a GM to reply to this one....
I've found that they often wait for you to log until they send the response. That way they have a "legitimate" excuse not to have to talk to you. So just log out and log back in and you'll get:

"Oh, well you weren't online so sorry we couldn't help you!"

Actually, with our non-English speaking GMs, it would probably be:

"Sorry online, could help find in support. Petition. Thank you for choosThank you for choosing L2."
LOL i think they have blacklisted me
Others have sent petitions and gotten replies, I am just forgotten or hated because I submit so many petitions.
I think they are on Luna where they are needed the most.
That's certainly the way I would do it.

It depends upon your petition. If you are one that petitions 20 stupid questions a week, then yes--they should ignore you. In fact, they should restrict your personal # of allowed petitions and add a surcharge onto your account because you are annoying.

If your petitions are reasonable and actually make sense, then they should respond to them in a reasonable time. I'd say anything within 2-3 days would be reasonable.

Seriously, what is going on that you can't seem to play the game? In 2.5 years I've sent like 3 petitions requesting assistance..........

Maybe the GM's aren't slow or blacklisting you or generally incompetent--maybe you're just not very bright.

That's certainly the way I would do it.

OR.... maybe I am constantly reporting spammers and bots. On days I play I have no problem using all 5 of my petitions in game on violations.

Oh and the GM finally replied 5 minutes ago with a cut and pasted response that was 2 paragraphes pasted on top of one another and it makes absolutely no sense. This is the support I pay for. Just shy of 3 hours.Nice Typos (http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/8521/shot00024mh8.jpg)
I wrote a petition in PERFECT English and the GM's replied with "Please type a petition in English language please, we do not accept any other languages" (or something of that nature)

I've also sent petitions about a subject, and they reply with something completely off topic or completely missing the point...Are L2 GM's like BT (British Telecom) support people? Hint: They all live in India and you don't understand them when you call for help so in the end you get frustrated and put the phone down on them.
oh man. . .thats right i remember that term used some years ago. . .ingame GM's. . .times change huh?

This is exactly the clarification I was hoping you'd post. Now see, this falls under "reasonable" petitions.
And you should get an answer in a reasonable time--like 2-3 days.

How is your game play effected if they do or don't answer in 5 minutes? They can't go through the process of banning a bot in 5 minutes.

I can't see why you have an expectation that just because you wrote out a bot petition that you would need some sort of immediate answer--or that an answer more than an auto response would be required.
I've filed dozens and dozens of petitions about Eula violations. I certainly don't sit around waiting for someone to pat me on the head--nor do I complain about "rotten GM support" because I got an autoreply 8 hours later.

The petition system isn't a hotline!

It's your expectation that is flawed--not the level of support.
Had you been petitioning because your main didn't appear at log-in! Well that should get a fast reply!
Routine Eula violation reporting? No. What do you think they are going to say to you? "Thanks billy for recognizing a bot in less than 3 tries--you're a very good little boy and we'll get right on this?"

Trust me, you don't want to play in a game where a 'bot petition' generates action and removal in 2 minutes. Eventually someone would report you and your buffpet while you were afk for a bio break and *poof*--you'd be the one gone.

Well again you have taken me out of context. I was reporting a spammer, spammers take less than 5 minutes to ban. It is obvious when soemone is spamming their site. Also if GM does not reply to your petition for 3 hours that means that you cannot submit another petition for those 3 hours. So A GM should at least acknowledge your petition in a reasonable amount of time. Three hours is not a reasonable amount of time.

Botters take time to catch but spammers 24 hours ? 12 hours? I think 5 minutes is plenty of time to ban a spammer.
And you have misunderstood again, as well.

Once you report "xyz" via petition (when you're reporting Eula violations by others)......you're DONE. You don't NEED an answer.
They have your information and can act on it at any time.

Somehow you've decided that an immediate removal of that spammer is any of your business.
You report. You're done.

What they do next does not reflect whether their support is good or bad. They don't owe you an answer.

If the spammer isn't deleted in 5 minutes--that, besides being none of your business once you send the petition, doesn't necessarily reflect anything either.

They could have 3 or 4 petitions of in-game issues other players are having across a number of servers--meaning a spammer should go to absolute bottom of the list.

Get over it already. Just cause you send a little petition about a spammer doesn't mean that the ONLY sign GM's are working involves talking to you.
Do your civic duty and send the petitions and quit harrassing them with senseless demands that they answer you. You're making their job harder by not THINKING.
actually drakkosIV

the expectation that he/she is looking for are normal.... and actually expected to occur..

Someone doesn't post a nasty bit of spamming on these forums and doesn't get removed with an extremely short period of time, ontop of it, the poster, banned, the account closed.

These forums are moderated far better then the game. And of great interest is the fact that there isn't really any "agree" button when you sign into the forums about EULA voilations.

Even the mention of some things will get the post locked down usually.

This is a grave issue, that needs to be resolved. And frankly being as patient as i am, KR NCsoft needs a royal swift kick in the [censored] and should start loosing the restraints that ncsoft NA seems to be tied down with.

IT is our business due to us providing thier salary and us purchasing the services. The services INCLUDE proper moderatoring the game and proper support and quick action.

Frankly i really don't know WHO to point the finger at, from my understanding it's KR NCSOFT....

Either way, I've worked in areas similare to these, if a post is reported, it doesn't even take 5 minutes to remove them, ban them... it takes less then 30 seconds once we (i) see the evidence.

And PMs are logged, so pulling up the information and seeing evidence of so and so pming you this bs... isn't hard at all, nor is thier removeall.

I also have a slight doubt that in game GMs don't have the power to ban.
Well... I got an answer from Stephen in Support page.

Forwarded my question to the US.. cause apparently, it's the US that handles this.... and this is a good example of what I think of US... either they don't do anything... or they outsource it to Europe... choose the correct option...
Actually today while logging in the tip of the day was GM support is available from 1 to 5pm. Since it didn't say time zone I would assume CST
There's no GMs. Its an automated response program sending back gibberish answers.

The tip of te day was translated over from Korean servers btw. Just like everything else that is thrown straight into the Babelfish translator and then slapped on the servers.
We have to start sending reports to NC Soft Korea... since.. EU sends to US... US is automated,, maybe Korea will reply.
my petition got deleted or something cos I can petition again... wtf
no response and petition just went poof?

You are missing the whole point, perhaps you should read my posts entirely or you do not understand the petition process.

I send out a petition "spammer xxxxx is spamming their illegal site." Now I am awaiting GM consultation. One hour passes, 2 hours pass... wait theres a group of bots over there, maybe I should report them. WAIT I CANT, I am still awaiting petition consultation on reporting that spammer 2 hours ago as teh GM's have not read my petition and you can only submit 1 petition at a time.... do you understand you cannot send more than 1 petition at a time? It took teh GM 3 hours to even acknowledge my petition existed, so during those 3 hours I saw many bots I could of reported but did not because I was unable to submit a petition for those 3 hours.
So in summary YES I do need a response in order to have the ability to send another petition. I am not done until I get an answer as I am locked out from sending any further petitions.

Also Spammers removal yes, immediate removal is my business as they are spamming me! This affects MY gameplay. I am not asking for a peronalized response or anything I am just asking for a GM to read my petition in a reasonable amount of time and ban the spammer immediately.

FYI I receied spams from this spammer up to 8 hours after sending the original petition. I do not know if they have been banned as I logged out of game early last nite and did not put up a shop. Really how long does it take to ban a spammer that continuously spams 1000's of accounts in game?
You need to remember that in the last few days there have been hundreds of petitions made. With a limited amount of GM's around it does take time to get to them all. The first petition I made I had 62 ahead of me. Just be patient, they will get to you. You don't work 24/7 they don't either.
I remember I reported about the adena spams the first day I got it. They told me that I have to go to NC support site to report this issue, so I did.

The reply I got back from them was (something like).... "Sorry we cannot do anything about it as it is a private message"

*note* They have transferred me once to another department during the process. Took like 1 week for them to send that "sorry we can't do anything about it" to me....

This has been an ongoing issue for months. And yes GM's provide support 24/7.
"This has been an ongoing issue for months. And yes GM's provide support 24/7."

I'm pretty sure it was meant the individual GM's don't work 24/7. A company may provide 24/7 support but that doesn't mean it's the same person, or people, 24/7.
For this to make sense, you have to get everyone to believe that you are somehow injured or damaged when you get a pm that says: "xxxadena--fast adena, powerlvling xyz dollars, website".

We all get them. They don't come from the same source every 10 minutes or something. Generally you get maybe 1 per hour (I play too you know).

So when friends send you a pm that is annoying and senseless, you are not injured. When strangers in game send you a pointless pm (or pm you by mistake), you are not injured or damaged. But somehow when you get this spammed message---you're whole game experience is ruined and you are unable to play?

That's not going to fly.

The level of "me me me" and unreasonable expectation here says a lot about our culture. "I want what I want and I **** well better get it NOW--or you suck!"

I just don't agree your spam petition is worth 2 cents or deserves any answer--even an auto reply. I don't think the GM's should have to perform to your expectations in this matter because I think the expectation you've shared is out of touch with reality.

Just my opinion.
Obviously some others see it as you do, Galil.

this was the only and LAST conversaion i had with a GM, I had such a headache after this one I pretty much refuse to ask for "live" support. I was asking why ANOTHER clan tht was lvl 3 wasnt showing up on the clan community list, it had nothing to do with my clan...

http://img125.imageshack.us/my.php?image=image1cg7.jpg
If you want the spams to stop, go to the website that the spam is from, here lately adenasky.com; go to contact either live support or e-mail, give them:

Lineage II
-Your Server-
-Your toon(s) name(s)

Ask them to stop spamming their ads.

I've done this on my toons and I do not get spam from that one anymore. Hope this helps!
ZOMG you actually had a conversation with a GM? and this =GM=Jamie seems to be very intelligent...wonder why we hav all these bots and spammers?....

I sent a petition to ask why an academy member was killed (in a 2 way war) we lost a rep point, and the gm started blabbering on about trying to settle the dispute with the person in game...wtf lol, i was like no...i dont care about the pvp...but this is a bug so im reporting it...still blabbering on about something completely off topic, im sure they hav a key word search they click and then go hmm this calls for our 'settle it in game' auto message.

If you want the spams to stop, go to the website that the spam is from Ask them to stop spamming their ads.

should a person really have to? They shouldn't even be spamming the ads in the first place!

LOL - ok you win the monthly - How Stupid Can the GM's be award...

I was reporting a spammer, spammers take less than 5 minutes to ban.

This is where I stoped reading btw....

You must be new... may I be the first to welcome you to Lineage2 - on the live servers.
this must be killing the HGMs (less than handful of them) that know the community believes GMs are jokes.

its really a shame ncsoft korea places almost zero value in staffing support for us....ncsoft korea should come out and say 'Start your bots on our NA/Euro servers! We dont mind the income!'
Why was my petition about "gfsgffhsvfafv spamming account selling site" escalated to higher tier? :o

ZOMG you actually had a conversation with a GM? and this =GM=Jamie seems to be very intelligent...wonder why we hav all these bots and spammers?....

you ment this sacrastically right? :P
yup

lol what are you talking about?
I do see some issues here that I'll make sure HGMspam is made aware of. As some others mentioned, there has been the inevitable increase of petitions with the simultaneous launch of a new update and a new server, which would explain the delays at least. This thread has some info I can pass along, but it's run its due course and is embarking into the "bash NCsoft" territory.
