There is a lot of players enjoyed our servers, but what u think gous and ladies about High Rate PVP server.
Cuz ppls love that servers and many players will enjoy(i think)

Yes ofc, but i think about GM shop, NPC buffer, autolerning skills, auto pickup etc. Cuz this will be something new, intresting for ppls, many players play only for PVP, so High rate server like 1000x its good idea(i think xD).!

the flaw in the idea is it offers too much for free. as it is, NC's idea of L2 is slowly becomeing "get rid of lvl 1-56, giving newbie buffs away free and armor and weapons free too"

Urg, please don't suggest that, even in jest. After spending my entire weekend (voluntarily, mind you) battling in-game spam adds for that type of server, it's a bit of a sore spot.

This is an example of the puzzling reaction some L2 players give when this idea is proposed. If the new server is sooo far superior and more fun than live servers then it would mean NC is going to the right direction.
Why would a game company ever consider NOT doing something because it would be too much fun?
Alternate rules server is a cheap way for a game company to appeal to a broader audience. Ever since the release of L2 people have been asking for a LoA style server and a non PvP server.
I rather see everyone leave the regular servers if it vitalizes L2 as a game and brings us diversity of gameplay.
Ok. You are lvl 85 with top equipment like the rest of the server...then what? PvP 24/7?
You have games that is PvP 24/7 and they are called FPS (First Person Shooter), don't turn this game into a FPS.

when everyone gets 85 full gear, free epic jewels and an easy time of recouping any death (1000x rates means a 4% can be taken without too much hassle and regained at lvl 85 in mere minutes.) it makes LOW LEVEL CONTENT and any sense of accomplishmnt of actually GETTING to 80 let alone 85 feel miniscule.
if anything i say CUT XP BACK to 1/2x on all servers. botting for 80 already holds no sense of pride but at least this way the time it takes to get there will mean something.

maybe a secret server like on diablo 2...the secret cow lvl.
Do a super uber long slit ur wrists quest to get some sort of uber enchantment box, then put in an antharas earring and 20 EAS and a piece of S80 Armor, click the box, turns into a infinity scroll (never runs out) and u can teleport to some uber secret fun server type place with weird mobs and stuff.
It would get the lvling botters and the uber ebayers off the real servers :P and get them into some secret world they can brag about on [censored] :P But really it just lets us get on with the game without them ;)
I think I would support a higher rate (relax) server. When fireing up L2, you can get some info on server types. Relax servers are meant for casual players (15 hours a week, 3 hours a day or so) with enhanced rates (2x or 3x if I'm correct).
I'd certainly return to L2 and even start all over on a casual server since I'm too much of a casual player for L2 (that's why I left for Age of Conan)
Yeah I think a relax and/or pve server would be good. I'm a hardcore L2er (been here since Prelude) but since I stopped being a student and started being a full time worker, I can't keep up in this game, even though I still love it. Everyone else is getting to 80 while I languish around 76 :P
Anyway my ideal casual/relax server would be:
- PvP restricted to seiges, fortresses, duels and party duels etc. Basically you can still PvP anywhere where you can currently PvP without flagging purple, but not in situations where you would flag on regular servers.
- Slight boost in rates: 30% extra XP/SP and 50% extra drop/spoil would be about right. Don't want to make it easy.
- Playtime restricted to 2-3 hours per day. However, if you are in a safe zone, the timer doesn't apply (so you can still leave stores up etc).

Very commendable that you spent the weekend battling it out with the spammers....
But is that not a very large sign that your boss (Rust right?) needs to step up and get more staff in place to keep us annoying customers happy when it comes to dealing with in-game spam etc?

You really need to talk to the higher ups about combating P-servers full stop. At the moment they think they are invincible. There was a notice on the play NC site about NCsoft combating p-servers a few weeks back, and most of the owners on one of the main development forums just laughed it off, but to be honest they have every right to since no action ever gets taken against them (bar 1 incident). At the moment it stands that if ANYONE wanted to set up a private server they could do it and not recieve ANY punishment for doing so. I've personaly worked with a private server team and seen a private server rise and fall, and i came to the conclusion, that in the end, they just run the game for the players.
I will admit one thing though, the grind is what's going to kill of the game in the end.

If NCSoft wants to do this then they will--and presumably there are some players who will transfer or start to play there.
As long as they can't transfer BACK to a real server, ever, I can't see that it will make any difference.
I still don't see what this would accomplish and my own opinion (noted just for Listof) is that it would not be successful by any measure.
But as with everything else, if the game owners want to do it then they will.
It's not worth arguing over anymore to me.
And waht logical reasoning can you give why there shouldn't be a hgiher rate server? If you don't want to play on it, then don't. But that sholdn't stop its creation for those of us who want it.
Also, anyone who wants to earn 20 billion exp at current rates is a pure sadist with no life at all.
