Since spellbooks don't drop anymore?

I'm not 100% sure but I thought the pre 76 SB's no longer drop from mobs.

If so, there are benefits I was thinking to this. Since this is a random drop game, taking SB's out of the 'chance to drop' probability, you'd be increasing the 'chance to drop' probability of the other valuable items, such as mats.

Just my thought ^^

They do. Oh yes, they still do. Been lvling my dagger sub in EV and my inventory is filling up with spellbooks as usual.

They still drop. Just NPC the darn things. :(
Anyone else wondering why the spellbooks are even kept in the game? Since they are all for sale in a shop--why are they needed. Might as well just have the NPC charge a fee to the player to get "reflect damage" (or whatever) at the time the SP is used up.

I bet that change is coming Soon (tm).
You have armor and weapons that drop from mobs that you can buy from NPC. What makes you think books will be any different?
It is in the CT2 patch notes.
I bought Honor of Paagrio for 10k, a FULL Karm set is roughly 1M. I bought ALL WC amulets for roughly 50k total. I agree there is no real purpose to keep them. Armor atleast has cost relative to the worth of the item, even though I do think Karm should be atleast 3M. The most commonly used, or seemingly so, C-grade robe should not cost so little.
They screwed alot of people with making SB's buyable in shops. Franz is flooded with the new 76+ books letting end-game people making even more money out of IoP and setting back the lower levels even more buy taking away 1) C-grd crafts 2) Spellbooks.
imo they need to keep the sbs in game as drops, some people cant afford to buy the sbs (plus teleport fees) so they have to hunt for them, not everyone is rich in the game and some of the spellbooks from the npc are expensive, Greater shield costed me almst 9k to get from the npc. i dodnt even look at any of the other sbs.

and even if they could buy the spellbooks, selling sb drops to the npc can be a source of revenue to the lower characters. they hunt for say 3 hrs have 34 spell books, they sell those books BAM 136K adena. (rounding up from what most sbs sell for at the npcs wich is like 3734 or something like that).
Even calculating in the cost of port fees, if you buy several books at once, they are still cheaper than what I would sell them for. *dwarven look of contemplation* hmmm.. Perhaps I should try that.
Yeah I sold over 100 SB's for 380k, since npc cost is like twice that, an entire set of class SB's would be something like 500k. It's not going to break even a noobs bank.
I never understood why they had items droping from mobs that could be purchased from NPC shops. Never understood why NPC shops in higher lvl towns sold the same stuff as newb villages. It is getting better but they still need to remove NG stuff from higher lvl towns IMO. Nothing sold in NPS shops should drop from mobs unless its a full drop. Mobs shouldn't drop pieces of NPC sold items since in no way could you craft it for less than store price.
The reason NPC shops sell NG equipment is, because of the drop system that used to be in game.

It would mean if you dropped your weapon you could still fall back on one that is sold in the shop.

Its not the case anymore unless you r chaotic with X amount of kills.

The problem might be just that things are being added to the game without other things being taken away.
Who cares though !? So SBs still drop, your inventory fill up ? Delete them or don't pick them up. Newbie stuff sold at giran or aden , well all shop traders have a union and have formed a cartel , they get their supplies from the same guy. Move on wite more important stuff , why can't you buy soulshots from store MUHAHAHA (besides NG I meant) !?

Equipment drops from mobs? You can buy B, A and S grade from NPs? I don't think we're playing the same game.
