So, I have finally decided to make a class I have wanted to play for a long time, but haven't because I was told it sucks. However, since I used to play a tank class and didn't have access to boss jewels/top gear, I am used to suck anyways, so I wanted to go with a phantom summoner.
So, I was wondering, right now I have my PS and also a SE I am levelling up at the same time. Should I get a prophet, or a warcryer? If I had a warcryer, I could have him do melee damage and assist the summon for pve. Also, orcs are cool.
Or, I could go with a prophet, that well, can certainly do some melee damage but nothing near what a warcryer can.
I think you will really like a warcryer.I have one that assists in damage with my ES and they make a great team.Plus the sleep skill they have always lands unless the mob is resist sleep.
Unless you get your WC to very high level (78+) I think the best support is PP and SE if you use them purely as buffers and they don't assist in combat.
so, I hit lvl 27, but I ran out of shadow weapons..i have 900k adena, that's not enough to buy the real equivalent of the shadow weapon i've been using...(its 1.5 mil right?)...so... I am leveling up another dwarf and then doing quests till 20, I assume this is the best way to make cash until I have gear for my main?
Oh, I do have a NG orcish sword I bought, but I don't think my nukes do enough to be able to farm anything with such a low m.atk

nope the Show weapon is not 2nd from Top (1.5 mill Weapon) it's Mid D
How well do y'all think the Nightshade pet will work next patch for PS, considering the PS can turn on transfer pain, tell his pet to heal himself, and then keep throwing death spikes at the enemy? Top end damage wouldn't be as high as nukers, but, magic crit chance would be just as high (if geared that way).

Large scale PvP this won't work... but on a smaller scale it might. Nightshade also has a mass gloom/hex spell, and can follow and harrass the enemy while you nuke. He would actually be a great ally to a nuking summoner. However, I still think you would be better served by playing as you did, using soulless or silhouette for PvP and nuking when you get the opportunity.
I'd imagine it would be an annoyance when you have to target yourself when you want nightshade to heal you, and then re-target your enemy to nuke. In PvE it's proably fine (but expensive) but in PvP I think it would be stressful.
it's somewhat impractical. Often in mass PVP nightshade is the prefered pet. Since i have a nuke augment i also nuke but yeah it's not easy. Though because you are different toons you can queue up actions, ie mage bane/nuke retarget heal/ retarget nuke etc.
Obviously if the PS could take a Proph, SE, BD, SwS, queen cat, for buffs, it would. But being practical and supposing that you only have one extra account for buffs, the best buffer in CT2 would be an SE in my opinion. With Soulless no longer draining MP, the summoner will have extra MP to nuke and add to his/her total dmg out-put. The SE has empower for the summoner and VR for the summon, both of which will be quite nessesary for the PS as it will be a semi nuker and semi melee. I think the damage the PS can do with even their half-nuke will be greater than what they can do with the traditional dagger or duels, so many people will switch to a mage weapon.
PP buffs are always great, but then with soulless's weak Pdef, you are constantly having to heal him, VR really goes a long way to making grinding less chaotic and more productive, not always having to worry about dying.
WC may work well, but then you cannot take full advantage of the PS's nuke, which will be a shame since it would surely do more damage than having the summoner melee.
So while I am sure Physics4ever will say the PS's nuke is worthless and you shouldn't take it into account while choosing your buffer, I have to disagree. The Semi-nuke (if DS is still half power, no one knows for certain if it will make it into Gracia yet, all we have to go on is one screen shot) is worth taking advantage of.
SE hands down, the only important buffs they don't have is haste (which you can cast) and acumen (which is in convenient pots). Clarity and blesses would be great as would an mdef buff before the combo buffs but yeah. If you can only have one buffer take a n SE. Actually my preference is a 78 BD with enchanted dances and inner rhythm but i'm guessing you're talking about a second account and not friends you dupe into duos.
