A few questions about Treasure Hunters

Human Classes Started Last reply 8 posts
I just subbed a TH and it seems like a pretty neat class, but it's a lot different from anything else I've ever played (BD and Warlock primarily), and I had a few questions about the class.

- While in fake death, can other characters (aka pvp) attack you?

- What exactly does veil do? Is it more a pve skill to use on mobs? How does it work?

-What are the main differences between switch and trick? I know they both take away enemy's target, but other than that what's the difference?

What moves are not worth the sp cost/not often used? The one's I'm wondering about the worth/effectiveness are primarily, unlock, veil and sandbomb.

Also, I know confusion is an AW skill, but I have it on my BD and have never bothered to lv it up. I've gotten my BD to 77 and still have no idea what it does lol. Is it a worthwhile skill to use the sp on? Does it have any use in pvp?

Lots of questions, I know :P I'd appreciate any feedback/advice :)

Yes, they can target you like you were alive. You just look dead. It can trick someone inexperienced though.

It makes aggro mobs go into passive mode, thus not attacking you when you get close. PvE skill, careful not to aggro the mob before you Veil it, and yes the skill can fail so watch the status log.

Not sure.. land rate and range I'd guess. Mental shield protects you from it IIRC. Someone playing a TH can answer you more precisely.

Unlock and veil, though they have their uses.. sandbomb is useful in PVP.

Dunno if it works in PvP. It changes the monsters target randomly. So basically you can confuse a mob into aggro someone else.
Switch changes the mobs target which is pointless if your solo, trick takes away target completely which in PvE is used with silent move on to drop target. In PvP it's used to drop target which gets annoying if your not spamming clicks on the TH
I'm working on a new rogue - he's only 21 - but I plan to go Treasure Hunter. Back in the day (C1), I remember dagger classes were actually quite effective at soloing, both PvE and PvP, and TH was considered the best PvP'er of the three daggers, with some arguing for AW, and pretty much everyone pooping on the PW.

What is the state of the three dagger classes these days? (Both relative to other dmg dealers and relative to eachother)

Thanks!
THIS IS SELF BUFFED(SOLO)

TH=worst pve, best pvp
AW=decent pve, decent pvp
PW=best pve, worst-decent pvp(more luck than anything)

BUFFS(SOLO)

TH=best pve, best pvp
AW good pvp, good pvp
PW best pve, good pvp

Daggers are 70% based on luck 30% skill

BUFFS (group)

doesn't matter...

Daggers are 70% based on luck

And this is why I don't play a dagger anymore. I'm unlucky as hell
I am kind of noticing that part, actually.. rogues in WoW are very "twitchy", player-skill kind of classes.. but here in L2 it seems too much based on whether a move lands or misses.

While it's true rogues did take skill to play in WoW, back in the day when dagger rogues were viable, they took a decent amount of luck as well. If Blizzard decided to hate you that day, and you couldn't get a backstab crit to save your life, you could place your head inbetween your knees and kiss your butt good bye.
