Here be the results of last week's poll:
Question:
Has your clan owned a fortress in the past two weeks?
Choices:
Option 01: Yes [20 votes]
Option 02: No [17 votes]
Option 03: Yes, but I'm in a different clan now. [1 votes]
Its pretty even considering. The Official Forums Thread (http://boards.lineage2.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=general&Number=1074914&pa ge=1&fpart=1) evolved into a discussion about the very merits of the change NCsoft made on force taking the fortresses away from clans after only a 3-day period. Many agreed that it's unfair, and additionally that the fortresses are too difficult to fight over every 3 days... or at least a nuisance. It hasn't particularly increased clan vs clan competition on the fortresses, which has always been low because there's too many fortresses. Quite ironically there's often not enough castle sieging because there's too few castles... and hence ONLY the big clans dominate them.
Course those conventions are by no means true for every server, or true all the time, and I would hope to God that I'm entirely wrong.
This week we'll take up a poll idea from Kraeia --- the Choose Your Destiny (http://www.lineage2.com/archive/2008/04/choose_your_des.html) event will allow players who currently have a high level subclass to turn it into their MAIN class.
This is a cool opportunity for those people who have subclassed, found that they like they're subclass more than they're main and are not sitting on... say a level 79 subclass with a level 76 main. I mean... how are you supposed to compete in the Olympiad when you don't have some of the hottest higher level skills!?
Of course... this could also mean an influx of PVP classes.... or rather... the final death bell of the support class mains. But could we really be that pessimistic about it? Ater all surely those people who picked support classes in the first place still like them after all this time? Does it even matter that support classes are gone, since the game has already become one of multi-boxing? Well I certainly don't know! That's not what my poll is asking anyway! XD
Right.. the poll. If you apply to the rules of the Choose your Destiny event, then pick the subclass you most likely will choose.
This one has a lot of options... lots of classes in the game these days. Please note that I'm using the lower class name, but that I'm referring to the UPPER level class too. That means if you're going to make your Hell Knight sub your main, then pick Dark Avenger. I believe I subtracted all of the classes that cannot be subbed at all, by any other class. This includes Warsmith and Overlord, and the Kamael classes (even Inspector which has specific rules for the event).
The last option changed a few times in the length of time I've been writing this loooong post. I believe now the option will apply to any person who simply isn't eligible for the event or chooses not to change their sub.
Hopefully this represents an accurate picture! Go out and vote on the right side of the main L2 Vault page (http://l2vault.ign.com/).
