My clan got in an alliance some time ago. Someone there was giving me advice and made me think i could actually get my own b grade duals. I learned today he quit the game and he left me some of the things i was going to need to craft them. I don't even want them anymore.
Well, you can get them on your own. After all, some people had to, at some point, right? Sounds like your friend did a nice thing for you. If you still want to accomplish it on your own, you could always return his kindness and give these things to a friend of your own :)
Losing someone that you've looked up to is always a sad moment.
I've had it happen more times than I care to remember, and my heart goes out to you. Finding friends you can trust in this game is a rare thing, but those connections forged in the heat of the fires of PVP and endurance are seldom weak.
Been there before, it's hard no doubt. I was once kicked out of my clan by someone I liked a lot with no warning at all (emo fits I'd say was the reason). Pretty devastating, but you either find other reasons to play or quit too.
For b grade duals, you turn your dwarf's war axe into a tsurugi, you do the quest in frozen lab until you can afford a weapon at the luxury store, you upgrade it to Samurai long sword using 2.2m aa and then you craft it in aden, for 490 stones of purity.
If you talk to the blacksmith in Giran, and click on "make a great sword" (or something to that effect), you can see what swords can be combined at the various grades (that can be made by this blacksmith). You would want those with p.atk of 107 (top D) for the sole reason that it would probaly be hard to resell anything else once you're done with them.
Actually, just go here (http://www.lineage2.com/Knowledge/item.html) and click on "dual" to see a list of all duals, much easier.
Feline, I recognize your sentiment. I've had it myself in this game.
All I can tell you is that there are some incredible people playing this game, on every server--that you haven't even met yet!
After my clan dissolved in the course of 24 hours a year and a half back I changed servers and considered quitting. That clan was some great folks and certainly they wanted me to leave L2 and join them in another MMO. I remember moping around (here in fact--lol) and also being surprised at how much their leaving bothered me!
A couple of the people I've come to know and appreciate and respect the most were people I met AFTER that disappointment.
I now play with a group that is so great it's hard for me to describe :)
Sure the loss of the other person is disappointing. That speaks highly of you, I think. I'm just saying that you haven't met 'everyone' yet.
The more players I continue to meet in this game, the more I'm impressed by them (young snots though they may be--j/k).
I hope you find others or that those you already know will take on new dimensions and that you'll feel better.
It's not said enough, but any of us that have played for even a few months realize just HOW social this game must be to play for goals and to try to succeed.
A D-Grade dual sword is useless. Work for C-Grade dual sword if you want to head for Gladiator, but don't waste time with a D-Grade dual sword.
And for OP, I didn't know dual stamps meant so much.
Ok more seriously, it's a game. I hope you get better and learn your lesson. There's lots of people to meet ingame, some you can even meet IRL if they live near you. But if you can't touch them, don't consider them as big friends. I'm happy with the people I met on this game, but every now and then, someone quit. You can't blame them, you can't feel responsible, that's life in a MMORPG community. Welcome new members, wish farewell to those who leave, and appreciate every moment you spend with them.
Cerobi, you can use duals at any level from 20 (D) upwards. However, you won't get any dual skills to go with them. They might look good at 20 and even help you kill easily but you'l lose out of the p.att bonus you get with single swords and blunts.
I made my first duals using the Luxury shop. Two Stormbringers added to +4. They served me well until I had enough for Samurai Longsword (SLS) duals.
You can get stormbringer duals as C grade shadow weapons now :-\
Eh, we've mostly all been through that. This game is social, you get tight with folks. I was really tight with our alliance leader, then I don't quite know what happened. We used to talk almost every single day...then he pretty much quit talking to anyone, including me and just up and quit the game. This would be after he booted me from his clan with me ONLINE at the time and refused to answer pm's.
Yep, hurt my feelings but good. But I have to agree with Drakkos. You'll move on and you'll make other friends. And like Drakkos, we have a great clan and I have great friends in it, along with some others that are not clannies.
no grade = 1-19, D grade = 20-39, C grade = 40-51, b grade= 52-60, A grade = 61-75, S grade = 76-79 and at 80 you can wear s80 armor/jewelry/weapons.
In time you will find new friends, new people to call your "game family" all in time! you will see. I've been in the same clan playing with the same people for 3 almost 4 years. Alot of the friends i've had over this experience have quit or left clan or moved servers. But never worry, things will work out for you. Just believe it will work out and it will.
Depending on your server--manor might be an option for adena.
If mats are selling well.
That FL quest has an option (if you've done the quests) to get mats and sometimes it can be lucrative. You'll have to learn mat prices and short term trends to decide well. Some months back on Lionna Steel was selling well and you could get steel from that quest, for instance.
Alternately, grab another dd and head to a cata (whether you manor or not). If you can get an efficient party you'll maximize your soulshot useage and at least get SealStones.
This gives you 3 market options immediately. If sealstones are selling well-direct sell them. If aa is more lucrative convert and sell that.
Or use the aa to buy consumables from the priest(ess) and sell those.
You'll have to do some math to figure out which is best return on your server currently.
That's my best advice atm. I always recommend cata for stones/aa/consumables since they almost always sell and provide some flexibility.
