After becoming noble, how many retire and reroll.

Good Evening All:

We all know the current stage of the game, and that majority of the population has either 1 or 2 toons that are 7x/7x, noble (and some even sitting on 80). Was just wondering if recently, many have retired their toons after hitting noble, hero, etc. and restarted a new toon from scratch?

/Regards.
81/80 or bust...
How about this... most of the players can sum it up like this.

Level 80/80 - check
Castle Seige - check
Fort Seige - check
Epic RB - check
NCNA being the "female dog" to NCK - check
Tons of outstanding bugs since C1 that have not been fixed - check
Buffers/Healers being forced to a 2-box role - check
"Our Friends who level without a person" running all over the server - check

Ummm... ok.. what did I miss?

With saying that - yes this is one of the best games around, but NC is f'ing it all up and if they do not fix it, there are a number of people that are going to think about the time that they play L2

I don't understand why this has anything to do with the development team. After all nobody made the class accessable only if you had a second account. It was a choice players made, and fail at understanding the concept of a mmorpg, (this doesn't apply to you all, before i get accused :D)
If you had played l2 in the beginning it was very much a party game ... we d make parties to go xp in cruma, we d make parties to go xp in LoA, we d make parties to go xp in TOI etc... basically XP for single toons was nonexistant

Then ncsoft added a gazillion places where a toon + a buffer could xp at, then they made xp there way more efficient than big party xp so with that lots of classes died. In the old days parties had a tank / buffer / healer etc. Nowadays you dont need a tank anywhere and buffers/healers are more efficient OOP ... So yeah, devellopers had something to do with it ;)

Why would u choose a live buffer compared to when, everyone can play a archer or sws/bd when u can "box" one when there are so little numbers on the servers. Like on kain for example, pretty sure there are 0 "active" buffers left who are in pvp clans apart from maby WC's cos their still kinda useful. thats about all
Maybe, but i still say it wasn't forced, it was a choice. At it remains that some people are only interested in exp gain than experiencing this game.

This perspective also has a lot to do with why we have level 60 players onwards on these community boards asking for class advice, weapon and armour set up, and the fact the got scammed @ market.
it was forced ... if you wanted to go above 60 you had to party ... there were no places a toon (with buffs) could exp at, except maybe FG (seal of shillien today) and xp there after 62 sucked

warcryers are over rated, they force the same buff on all party members, even if the class has no need for it. A live buffer, among other things, provides a bit of fun and social interaction.

Buffs provide benefits to they're members, but this isn't really about that. Its about the fact that some people are way too goal obsessed, and are only interested in end game prestiege (but that is slowly dwindelling cause there are so many).

Some, lack interest in the experience.

forgive me if I'm wrong, but parties and interaction, is part of the concept of mmorpg's.

if you want the single player experienceyou may as well play Baldur's Gate or Diablo.
What exactly stops people from partying? Drops don't matter as you can't make money on drops alone. I'm with croathe on this one. I think people just needed an excuse to solo w/oop so they looked until they found one.
simple math stops people from partying ...
if you need 500 hours to go 78 solo and you need 1000 hours to go 78 in parties (and another 300 hours spent looking for those parties) then yeah, people will choose to solo it up.

It's a game design flaw that solo xp is faster/better than party xp in a party oriented game.

PS hours quoted are arbitrary, dont [censored] about it
oh great I can really see your point maths & fun really go hand in hand.

People should have never reduced this game to 'simple' math. Its not how it should work.

Actually, that's almost exactly how it works.
This game (and, to be fair, pretty much any RPG in the last 20 years, either MMO or otherwise) is entirely math-based.

Numbers govern EVERYthing you do in L2, from how much damage you deal, to how long you live in combat, to what grade of weapons & armor you can use, to what you can buy and carry, to how often creatures drop certain items, to how quickly or frequently you can cast spells and craft gear.

Every single aspect of this game boils down to "simple math"... some of which, in actual fact, isn't all that simple sometimes.
It just so happens that the most prominent parts of all this math are the XP bar and your adena total, because those numbers are what ultimately dictate the advancement of all your other numbers.
So naturally, the math of increasing those as frequently & quickly as possible is what a lot of people will get hung up on.

To say this game should not be reduced to mathematics is a total misstatement. This game IS mathematics. Having your numbers be bigger than the other guy's numbers - either another player or a computer-controlled mob - is the ultimate goal of playing this game.

The only difference lies in the fact that some people choose to enjoy the journey of working toward that goal, while others enjoy accomplishing the goal itself.

I do see your point about "experiencing the game", and I actually do agree. But I think it needs to be pointed out that, given these facts, getting so upset at people who play by the numbers is sort of a ridiculous position to take.
If they wanted to force people to party they could simply add in a party experience bonus that makes party xp better than solo xp. The fact that they don't make this happen tells me that NCsoft doesn't care about regular pve parties.

They are adding xp bonuses in the next update, but you only get them by participating in siege pvp and raid bosses, neither of which are a good source of xp. It is clear what NCsoft wants the player base to do: solo until you are high lvl, and only group to take down an epic boss or castle.

They are even adding in a way for tanks to do more damage via a dual sword/2hand sword mastery toggle, and a way for healers to do holy nuke undeads a lot better. So it's not like we support classes can even complain anymore about not getting xp, because we can solo too.
I will continue to play my main until i quit... I luve this game and im gald i havent had the chance to experience everything yet, gives me more time to enjoy the game.

Im sure that for the peeps that did all what was enumerated above might feel this game is dead or as nothing left to offer. Then ya that most suck.... But maybe not trying to reach end game super fast every time a new patch comes up, is the way to go....

I forsee myself staying around for a few more patches for sure.... Gogo NCSOFT.

Cheers!!

Agree L2 was in the beginning a MMORPG with a lot partys and stuff.
Now its more a multi account game. Because of that (boxed buffers/healers ) and that support classes cant actually kill ppl in PvP they become less played.
For a single account user like me the game get more and more boring and unplayable. You just cant find healers or buffers for partys. You highly depend on friends to be on because there are almost no pickupgroups anymore ( less exp if u add a stranger ). So if your friends are not on you cant really play or even exp.
I play on a almost dead server also that makes finding partys even more hard.
A server transfer would leave a lot equipment behind so its no option also leaveing the few friends i dont like too. They mostly the reason i play more.
But for sure im soon at a point where i say why play this stuff anymore ?

Oh if your solution is get a 2nd acc well then you did not understand why ppl play a mmorpg at all.
