since i can't seem to find anything in search, thought i'd just try to figure it out myself. so i'm a semi noob played intermittently here and there a long while ago, still remember the "congested" sign back in open beta lol. i don't know if guys these days have some other better methods like a regular party or new rendezvous point, coz no one seems to be using the party matching channel at all now, at least on kain server, i tried morning i tried in the afternoon, i tried in the everning, and im the only one looking for a job lol. maybe i've just been away for too long to figure it out, but someone's still gotta be out there other than myself, so why put to waste such an effective system... heh. i guess i'm just trying to get some active fun to do anything rather than sitting on my [censored] watching blue text calling each other 16-yo-girls. anyways gimme a holler on kain if anyone need a mid-50 tank :)
i've seen next to no one on the party matching system in Devianne, one reason I think is that people in clans that are warring don't want to potentially get into a party with a war tag (that's the reason I don't use it at the least)
Right part of it is the warring (and otherwise the political nature of the game) and the other part is the newer (though not new now) improved version of the Partying Matching System probably came in too late to really be integrated into the community.
As in older noobs didn't have it, so they learned how to do parties without it.
New noobs aren't introduced to it, and find its not used, so they don't use it.
And a vicious cycle goes round and round.
It really is unfortunate, as you said: it's a great system. But it's just feasible for the more accurate warring people. It takes the neutrals taking initiative and partying outside of clans... but things in even neutral clans are very clan focused. Many people would probably be happier with a clan version of this system -- then enemies or potential hostiles can't see where you're partying by simply looking you up in the listing.
last time I saw the party system being used was in C2 and that was before the server politics went to such an extreme that you couldn't really xp outside your side/alliance as even the neutrals would be griefed by either side if they grouped the "wrong" person
I have tried using it on Bartz - I usually get 1 or 2 responses within 20-30 minutes. Not really enough to make a full party, but better than nothing, so I always turn it on just in case. Most people prefer to shout in Dion.
But what I noticed is that, even though you don't see (m)any looking for party rooms in there, if you make a room yourself, you will get a tell or two. So people do check it. They just see nothing and close it right away. If you leave it out there, you'll meet a few ppl.
I do. I use it all the time searching for rooms and creating them.
It was better before Kamael tought.
I think they should reward people for 500k a week if they got in party during that week using party matching system and the party gets xp and sp (so that ppl dont just start party rooms withou going to hunt).
Not dependable since community server goes down so often. Otherwise more people might use it.
It goes down? I had the impression that's just a bug, because if you try over and over again (or use a different method in) it works. And is it linked to the community server? (this I have no idea)
Anyway about the main topic, the system seems better in high population servers but still the statistics I just heard for Bartz seems less than what it should be considering that population...
It's definitely not properly representative of the server's playing base
They have it in Guild Wars, but trade in it is a bannable event.
But they have a tab for trade.
If they would just get their sister game to fix it. lol
There are A LOT of good things NCsoft can learn from its own products. In particular, Guildwars has some vital UI improvements over L2, and has a proven security infrastructure that prevents hacks and 3rd party mods without relying on a problematic tool like Gameguard (a tool which I believe the majority of NA and EU gamers would like to see gone).
I know people from "carebear" or "neutral" clans use it here and there on Hinde, I was invited to few parties like that if thewy are looking for some specific class.
Anyway, one of the ways to find party or missing party member is to PM your favourite hero to do hero shout for you.
I've tried, but never successfully made a room. I fill in what I can, but the room never appears on the list. Is there a walk through on how to do use this feature? I'd like to give it a shot again if I could get it to work.
u just press create room then type in the name/requirement/etc in name section, then select lvl range or whatnot, then OK it i guess. or u can click on the waiting list, ppl who didn't create rooms would be there.
also, hero shouts would be proven more efficient, but when there's no hero on or u don't see them talking in a while, it's a pretty good alternative lol
