I am moving tomorrow and as a very responsible person I told my Iternet supplier weeks before that I needed to change the adress so I could get my phone and internet up and running as soon as I move... *cough*
Na I called them today and they said 2 - 4 weeks with out internet.
So my questions is, how will one survive this? :D

Wow I found a couple of old drawings I made and my 3D graphic books. Perhaps I should be alitle creative again.

I play l2 cause none of the cooler games runs on my laptop :p
AoC vs Laptop is 4-0 atm.
But as the weather has been the past days there is no other choice than slack in the sun all day and then play in the evening..
It's just hard to sleep at night since the **** sun never sets :p
Oh, and on topic: People are really bad at securing their WLAN's still.. even tho it's 2008 lol.
So I bet you can just pick and choose which ever wireless has best reception :>
hijack wireless..... while it's common curtisy to ask and even offer to pay a minimal amount of the cost of even them providing...... it's still optional :p
actually my own business, i've got one hell of a powerful 300N wireless router setup specifically for broadcasting a very very wide range of free for all wireless internet.
Top it off, it's battery backed up, and also has no download/upload limitations. Load balancing acrosss 2 internet connections from 2 different ISPs.. allowing for more reliable, faster and more stable internet connections.
People are putting up boosters just to connect within a fairly good distance of the building.

One day one finds there are more important things to do. When that happens you can go 2 weeks or more without logging in and be fine. However, it's a different story for my nephew. He's going to be one fine adena farmer this summer. ;)

Evil thinker: I would set up a wireless internet connection for honeypot purposes. Monitoring the lines just to see what my neighbors are up to in browsing and banking habits, muahahahah

Btw... you can stop the addiction of L2.. Sure the first week you might feel itchy in the worst case but after that you can move on.
You start doing sports again / get some quality family time / do some needed house maintenance work etc etc.

not in canada :p i don't have to worry about a **** thing.. someone could be downloading from any website... even fully ilegal stuff..... i didn't have anything to do with.... the service is provided at no cost and is free. ISPs here don't give a [cencored] what anyone downloads, so long as they don't blow the cap off the download/upload per month and pay there bills.
Yeah, why -would- an ISP care about what you do :)
As long as the you don't do anything that could give 2 years of jail or more they aren't even allowed to forward information about customers to anyone. Atleast here.

I sadly do not live in Canada - the land where civil liberties are still both civil and liberal - but I do have the good fortune of tenure at the cable company which provides my internet service, so unmetered and uncapped HSI is one of the perks.
That's a lotta pipeline for one guy, so why not share?
For example, my wireless network used to be a little too thin in the front room of my house, so I picked up a 16dbi antenna, pigtail'd it onto a plain-jane Netgear 802.11n router, and now I get excellent service in the front room.
...And so do people at the park across the street. :)
Security concerns are the least of my worries, so I don't have the network locked down at all (god forbid, someone logs my traffic and sees that I've been playing L2 or browsing the Associated Press. Oh, noes!).
In effect, I am no different than any number of no-charge wireless hotspots around the city. It just so happens that I'm serving a niche area where there would otherwise be no coverage.
It's kind of like how pirate radio stations used to be such a huge deal; this is simply the sort of thing that happens when people decide that if information wants to be free, then access to that information should be as well.

Enjoy yourself, you're probably going to miss these huge breaks alot in the future, depending on what is in store for ya, I can't know.
