have anyone but me observed a decrease in damge done to mobs when using this skill?
i recently become 58 and got the first level of this skill, and it gives me 10 fire attribute but i observed a decrease in damage done to mobs when using it anyone else noticed this?
When they introduced Infernal Form in C5, there was some discussion about it. In PvE, somebody calculated that it added about 2% damage to most mobs, which is miniscule. However, if the mob was fire-weak or surrendered to fire, Infernal Form added significant damage. I imagine the same applies to PvP, and I haven't seen any evidence before your post that any of that has changed. The only explanation I can thin k of, is maybe you were attacking a mob or player who was resistant to fire? In that case, having InfernalForm on would probably reduce damage output.
well i tried it on mobs in forsaken plains, cemetary and seal of shillen. on all mobs i tested it reduced the damage when using it.
Find some fire weak mobs and try it. Any of the insect ones I believe will do nicely.
I know the Treant Elders up in EV are fire weak, and with this thread in mind I went up there and did a little deforestation.

Infernal Form added damage to them, so far as I can tell.
Sounds like a bug, Xayla. However, if the mobs are not fire-weak or surrendered to fire, just don't use Infernal Form. It's a pretty simple work-around. I imagine the devs never thought to test InfernalForm against mobs that aren't fire-weak, when they did expansions after C5, since it's not really intended to do much to them.

It will reduce damage if the mob is weak to water. You should only use Infernal Form on mobs that are weak to fire.
it should work the same way as any other weapon elemental value..

AKA

IF my kamael turns on dark weapon fighting dark resist mobs, i get a significant decrease in damage output, against mobs that are dark weak, i get a massive boost in damage output, and fighting mobs that don't state resist or weak to dark (nuetral) seem to vary, from a 2% boost to a -2% reduction.
When I use Crush of Doom my damage output is a little higher
with Infernal Form turned on. You also get some resistance
to fire attacks. I like this skill :)
