Okay, so I am only calling this thread that becouse my playlist is on shuffle and Foreigner was playing... sorry for that.

I am actually just currious as to why Tallum Heavy is STILL the only heavy set with an Atk. Spd. bonus.

I play a Glad and absolutely refuse to buy S grade armor. Asside from them all looking like buffed up power ranger outfits, they confer no bonuses that interest me AT ALL.

From what I've seen 90% of all Gladiators use Tallum Heavy in A-grade, and the other 10% use Maj Heavy.... I've never even seen a Glad using light armor. They lack the evasion to make up for the huge loss in P.def.

If Tallum heavy is such a hit with Glads in A grade, why not continue the trend in S grade... make a set with frikken atk. spd. increase...

... .... please :D
I don't understand why you wouldn't want to switch to a S grade armor set. You're able to enchant the S grade for elemental attribute, something you cannot do with A grade. Not only that, the P. Def boost from going Tallum to IC is huge.
I'm thinking this would have been better to put in the Game Suggestions Forum. Yeah, I've kinda noticed myself that S grade gear isn't nearly as rich with options as A grade. Seems a bit of a shame to me. Although, I guess it could be argued that the elemental attributes help make up for this.
I had thought it was S80, not S grade, that got the attributes. Or do they?

all S grade gear (cept jewelry) can have a attribute added to them.

adding a element attribute isn't that big a deal atm, but come ct2.1 it will be cause the bonus gets bigger.
Being able to add elemental attributes to armor does mean changing its non-elemental attributes. No matter what I do to IC or Dynasty armor it will never give me the +8% atk spd that tallum does.

That 8%, coupled with speed duals liek Kesh*Kesh or Tallum*Dama makes for a very specialized style of play that is almost unique to the gladiator class (not that other classes couldn't if they so chose).

I absolutely love way I am able to play with that settup... and S grade simply doesn't give me that chance.... its extremely dissapointing.

And while IC does have a dramatic increase in P.Def when compared to Tallum... it means NOTHING to me as a Glad... whith tallum heavy and speed duals, the damage I take is compensated for by the rate of my attacks +Vamp...

I am not saying that one way is better than the other, sinse they are essentially the same, but I should be allowed my preference IMHO. Especially given how unapealing the S grade sets are to me visually
I kinda think S grade gear happened when one day, the devs woke up, came into work, and saw a report that a few people here and there were actually stating to make level 76, and they collectively said "Aw $#&, we didn't expect anybody to get there until the 9th expansion, we better come up with something quick, then see what we can nerf, so we can get back to work on Aion." Or something like that.
Well I am using the Drac Light Armor on my Duelist.. dont forget even though its light, it has a bit more PDEF than Tallum Heavy (but with nearly same bonuses +4%Atk Speed/+4%PAtk)... also you get the Mana Bonus + Evasion Bonus.. I think its a great set...
It could look a little better, though >.>
Yeah, the drac set is the most hideous thing in this game.
But what Rinea said seems like an option to me.
Cause you rather be better than look good, right?
I can understand that the Drac leather set has slightly more P.Def than Tallum Heavy, and its bonuses are a worse deal IMHO... 4% atk pwr doesn't have the same impact on the VR Gain that another 4% atk spd does. (In PvP the atk pwr matters more sinse VR takes a back seat in that instance). Also you're not gaining a flat 4% sinse Tallum Heavy confers +2 STR and Drac Leather confers only +1.

I have a TH at lvl 54 that uses Zubei Leather, offering +4 Evasion. Duelists have a comparable number of light armor masteries as the TH, and with that same set I had a very nice evasion... but somehow still managed to evade like a brick.

I guess my playstyle is pretty specific, but I PvP only about 20% of the time... the rest I spend grinding and working toward leveling so that I can PvP better the next time... so its a poor choice for me to favor the PvP sets over the PvE sets... and I don't think the option is there for me in S-grade.

I guess its partly me, but I know for a FACT that if they made an S-grade heavy set with bonuses similar to tallum I would NOT be the only one wearing it.
I think you've more or less limited yourself into thinking that attack speed is the key. Keep in mind that taking less damage allows you to lessen the amount of VR you require.

u forget how hard it is to get a +6 drac set, and/or how costly...and plz don't get into the people use credit card issue again.

I understand what you mean winter. I know how horrible IC set looks. Low S grade isn't very good with most their armor sets, but what can u do?
