Can anyone tell me why a bot shop shouts "WTB this & that " and his WTB shop isn't buying "this & that" and hes afk so doesn't reply to PMs ?

Can anyone tell me why a bot shop shouts "WTB [censored] [censored]" and his WTB shop isn't buying [censored] [censored] and hes afk so doesn't reply to PMs ?

Because people suck?

Just report them over and over and over again. The few bots I've done this with go bye-bye after about a week and never come back.
lazy to change the macro

Bought everything it needed but the master has not returned to make it stop shouting.
Any shop running on automated macro flooding the window with "WTB/WTS" for 24 hours is instantly put on my Ignore list. I don't care if they use Nostromo or not. They become annoying. Period.
From what I gather reading the forums.. it is OK to use Nostromo (or various other macro-able gaming keyboards) while playing but not AFK. So technically someone spamming for 24 hours should be reported as a bot. When the GM comes knocking and nobody answers, that is one more person you don't have to put on block. :)

(though why is it OK to use 3rd party hardware to circumvent macro-looping restrictions I don't know...)
Because they have no way to stop it and hardly any way to catch it without wrongfully banning more innocents than guilty parties.

This is not true. A GM could simply log in Giran and pm those spaming shouts. If he got no answer he could insta-ban the account. Nostromo usage is permitted only when a person is behind the keyboard.

Then why restrict macro-looping to everyone else? There is a big difference between "It is against the rules but we have a hard time enforcing it." and "It is ok for the player with 3rd party hardware, but not ok for the player without." ^^;;

What about the ingame macros for shouting - lets say you have a macro shout for you every hour for the next 5 hours - since you are using the in game commands - would that be reason to get banned - I know it is not on the level that we are talking about, but you get my idea.

I had done it. I had reported them. Other players had reported them too. For 3 days (!!!) nothing was done. After that I started abusing the "/block" command.
true.. but I think people above are talking about more spam in shorter intervals. :) Once an hour isn't really obnoxious.

Lets see.. There are only 12 lines in a macro.. so given that you would have to use 2 spaces per spam (one for spam, one for pause) If you spammed in 5 minute intervals you could only do it 6 times every 30 minutes... Which means someone spamming in 5 minute intervals or less would be at the computer at least once every half hour to see a GM message or pm from an interested buyer. (or to notice that they have sold what they are spamming about. lol)
Note I said HARDLY any way to catch em, not that there was no way...and I wasn't just referring to those using shout macros but those using the tool for other macros too.
Like the ones you buy a EW or EA scroll from. Just to see them stand up and replace it in 0.05 secs. :p

Well. That would get me banned. Even though I'm always behind the keyboard when I shout. I set up macros, shout, and tab away form the window. Plus the chat in giran scrolls so fast that the chance of catching a pm from a GM is small even if you're there, watching the chat. Not to mention the people who /allblock when setting up shop. I know a handful who do.
lol guys. you are fighting with idiots. i didn't see such quite idiots for long long time... usually it looks as normal players with very usual sign, "look here", "useful stuff", "garbage", "WH clean-up" or something like this. they don't spam and don't answer the pm's. so you just can't say - is it an afk normal toon or something from the dark side of this game.

ps. once more thx for 5 minutes of loud laugh.
pps. smart ones learn at errors of others. normal ones learn at own errors. idiots never learn. :)

The problem is not a shout every hour, rather those that repeat every 1-2 minutes constantly AFK. This can't be made with ingame commands and Nostromo usage is valid only when player is behind keyboard. It is not so hard for GM to find the AFK shouters.

Better make it "every 35 seconds" and you get the source of my annoyance.
