Since we opened server transfers in February this year, we've all seen a noticeable shift in what servers the Lineage II population is playing on. Many players transferred from some of the lower population servers to the higher population servers in the name of greater competition and more players, while others simply transferred to play with others in their region. All of these are very valid reasons and we're happy to offer our players the choice to move to a server they would prefer.
The heart of Lineage II has always been its clans and highly competitive PVP, be it grand-scale castle and fortress sieges, or one-on-one combat. I think we can all agree that being a part of hundreds of players on a castle battle field is an incredible adventure that all should be able to partake in. We recognize that in order to offer the best experience equally for all of our players, some population balancing is needed.
In an effort to maintain the very highest quality Lineage II experience for all of our players, we will be combining several of our North American servers. We aim to make this as smooth and painless a transition as possible for our community and believe that the end result will be a more lively and thriving server community for all.
Over the next few weeks, we will be here to answer your questions and address your concerns. The Lineage II community is as strong as ever, and our players remain dedicated, enthusiastic, and active participants. Our goal is to balance the population to ensure the best possible competitive environment for all and, in turn, promote server growth. Please read on for all the details.
Server Merge Date
July 8, 2008
Servers to Be Merged
The server merge plan is based upon current server population balancing needs and the physical locale of the server hardware. Servers 1 through 5 are located in North America on the West Coast and servers 6 through 8 are on the East Coast. As such, only servers in the same physical location are eligible to be merged. With that in mind, below is the server merge plan.
Server 2 (Sieghardt) + Server 5 (Erica) = Sayha
Server 3 (Kain) + Server 4 (Lionna) = Aria
Server 6 (Gustin) + Server 8 (Hindemith) = Phoenix
*Please note that the new servers will not experience any latency issues as a result of two server populations being combined on them. The new populations will still be below our very highest population servers.
The new server names are yet to be determined. We will be requesting server name nominations and creating an official poll from the top picks. This will be done in each individual server forum on the official website. We will take nominations until June 19th at 5:00 PM Central time. The names will be voted upon and ultimately chosen by each of the server communities.
After the merges, the old server names will be deleted and not used again.
Servers 1 (Bartz), 7 (Devianne), 9 (Teon), 10 (Franz), and 11 (Luna) will not be involved in these merges.
Account Services *Updated*
In order to facilitate the smoothest possible merge, all account services will be turned off one week prior to the merge. We are also turning off all transfers to the affected servers on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 (after the regular weekly maintenance).
We will be turning on all account services again, including server transfers, on July 8th after the maintenance.
Characters
Characters will transfer over with all of their individual belongings, including all items and Adena in their private warehouse, inventory, and equipment slots. Individual character status and info, such as quest info and karma, will also transfer over intact with the exceptions of hero status and Olympiad points, which will be reset.
Dormant Character Deletion
In order to minimize duplicate character names, all characters that are level 10 or lower and have not logged in for more than one year will be deleted.
To prevent the character deletion, that character simply needs to be logged in once prior to the server merge.
Character Name Conflict Rules *Updated*
If a character name exists on both servers, a pop-up window will appear on your character selection screen and you must type in the name you want for that specific character. If the name you type in is already in use, you will get an error and be prompted to type in a different name.
If a character name conflict occurs, you must type in a name for that specific character before you will be able to log into the game.
Character Slots
If you have more than a total of seven characters between two servers that are being merged, the seven characters that have the most EXP will be kept; the rest will be deleted.
If you have more than a total of seven characters between two servers that are being merged, and their EXP is the same, the older character(s) will be deleted.
Miscellaneous
All characters will be moved to the nearest town.
Character creation will be turned off on the merged server for one week after the merge.
All unique colored names from Battle Tournament will be reset.
Clans & Alliances
All alliances will be disbanded.
Clan information and organization, such as Clan Warehouse, Reputation Points, Clan Skills, clan level, clan leadership and ranks, etc. will be transferred.
The in-game clan community board and clan crest will be reset.
All clan wars will be ended.
Clan Name Conflict Rules *Updated*
If clans from the servers being merged share the same clan name, a number will be attached to each clan name. The clan name may be changed at the High Priest/Priestess in any village. The clan name change request will be applied during the following week's regular maintenance (on Tuesdays). Please note that once the clan name change request is complete, it cannot be revised or changed.
Castles, Manor, & Clan Halls *Updated*
All castles, manors, and clan halls will be reset.
All clans that own a castle/siegeable clan hall prior to the merge will be reimbursed with clan reputation points (on July 8th).
Castle Warehouse will be initialized and all items will be deleted.
All clans that own an auctionable clan hall will be reimbursed with Adena (winning bid amount) on July 8th during the merge maintenance. The reimbursed Adena will appear in the Clan Warehouse. Clans who purchase an auctionable clan hall after July 1st will not be reimbursed.
The manor system and all items associated with it, such as seeds, will be reset.
All fortresses will be reset.
The first castle siege time for a merged server is to be determined.
Olympiad
Olympiad points will be reset.
Hero status and associated hero weapons will be reset.
Miscellaneous
Cursed weapons, Seven Signs Quest, and the in-game community board will be reset.
Seal Stones and Ancient Adena will be transferred and deposited Seal Stones will be returned to your characters. Seal Stones that were contributed to the priest of each cabal will be converted into Ancient Adena and placed in your private warehouse prior to the server merge.
The Hellbound stage unlocked will be set to the highest stage reached between the two servers being merged.
Auction sales rewards will be deleted if you do not collect them prior to the merge.
Pet names will be reset.
Character's in-game email will be deleted.
Friend lists and ignore lists will be reset.
Raid points will not be transferred.
My goodness, its happening. I dont know whether to take this as a good or bad thing. I must do some soul searching on this.
Edited Part: Given I know the clan halls would have had to be reset. It is ******ed as we JUST got ours. On that note I am requesting information on how the auctionable clanhalls will be put up for re-acution (This is very important address believe, looking forward to a speedy response plz).
Of course it was gonna happen was just a matter of when and I am thoroughly surprised it happened this soon. The stress this is gonna cause will not make this an enjoyable transition in the least.
P.S. Still waiting on that speedy response on reauctioning of clanhalls, ty.
Will the new server A have sieges, Seven Signs, Manor times, etc, all set to West Coast time? The announcement reads that way, but I'd like to confirm.

I have requested this info, and will reply to this question once I have an answer.

All of the server time settings will remain the same as they are right now.
In a sense I agree, there will be more people angry I think than happy at this decision. We will also see a large re-growth in the Farmer Clans looking to control the server UNLESS there is the implementation of a stronger management to deal with the perceived issue on a more consistent basis if at all.
Actually I smell more fun. Chaos, panic, disorder, fights, new politics, and chances to clean clanhalls from dormant clans. More people may reactivate accounts just "to see how it goes" and grab their piece of pie while it lasts.
I am looking forward. And yeah LOL to Gustin and Hinde, good choice :D
I don't think anyone seriously thought it "would NEVER happen", I think there are a number of us who would have preferred it did not happen.
Obviously many people wanted this.
After reading I do not need time for soul searching. I have two immediate reactions.
This was handled in a tragic and thoughtless manner by NCSoft. Perhaps the poorest approach, decision, and announcement it has been my misfortune to experience.
The only word that comes to mind is "inconsiderate"--on any number of fronts.
Of course it is the company's decision on how to manage resources and ultimately how to structure their product.
My guess, and it's just an uninformed guess, is that this will net negatively--which overall will not advance the game either.
I was reading recently as another MMO CEO was interviewed--he went on record as saying essentially, "in the gaming industry, closing servers (merging/downsizing) is an accepted sign the game is failing...which is why it's avoided as much as possible...."
It appears he was prophetic.
I can think of half a dozen ways this might have been managed and another few of how it might have been communicated. All of them would have been preferable to this cluster [censored].
Seriously, spend the 15.00 wisely, I have not decided how many more times I will be paying it. I would think I'll stick around to see what the world looks like on the other side but even that I haven't come to terms with just yet.
I'm trying to imagine the birth of some new non-server but all I'm seeing is the destruction of where I live now. I'm not liking the view.
All clans that own an auctionable clan hall will be reimbursed with Adena (winning bid amount) two weeks prior to the merge. The reimbursed Adena will appear in the Clan Warehouse. Clans who purchase an auctionable clan hall after the two weeks prior to the merge will not be reimbursed.
what if the amount it was purchased for and your adena in CWH is more then the 2.147bill .... how do we know EXACTLY when the reimbursement will happen so we can avoid the rollover->0adena glitch?
Good luck finding any spot to xp with that many active players AND all the farmers. Contrary to what some people think, for many players it is NOT fun having to pvp for a hunting spot each and every day. I can see quite a few clannies of mine quitting over this, because they want to be able to just log in every day for an hour or two, xp a bit and log off again.
There will be a rush for the clan halls and a few seconds after the server is up, there will be a max bid on each and every one of them - and lots of big, established clans will be out of luck (and never ever get another chance at getting a clan hall). Many, many people will be ******.
I see more negative than positive things in these server merges.
I dont want a **** transfer. when i want one i pay for it . Nice NCsoft kill more players. i dont want the ppl from a other server. im happy with this i have. ****it rly. make a voting and everyone from the server can vote. we pay this game so we can vote.
fact is the half of clans loosing the clanhalls the self with heros. or lossing their names. and for what? for more ppl on servers. and? what i get from it? giran to full, xp lvl spots to full, more bots and so on.
So NCsoft take this server merge idea and go to hell!

I'm pretty neutral on this, though I think I'm leaning more on the :( side. Especially the part where your friends list is deleted. I can see why it's necessary, but crap, it's going to be hard to find who's who afterwards depending on how the naming conflicts will work.
eh
im on bartz, so it really doesnt matter to me
but how many people who dont want the merge to happen are from ob?
but as i recall, the most fun was from prelude to c2
the words server is full, please try again later is a good thing btw
Please allow only the clans who own clan-halls on their servers to bid for clanhalls on new servers at least in first auction cycle. Farmer clans will buy the clanhalls immediatelly and re-sell them on ebay/etc.
Or allow only clans of level 6 and above. This will be fair also.
Why is NCSoft merging the two smallest west coast servers together Sieghardt+Erica meanwhile they then merged to two medium west coast servers together Kain+Lionna.
They need to merge Small Server (Sieg/Erica) + Medium Server (Lionna/Kain) not Small Server + Small Server and Medium Server + Medium Server.
The best solution is to make two big servers instead of 1 medium server and 1 big server.
Good Config:
Sieghardt+Kain 3k+ People
Erica+Lionna 3k+ People
Bad Config
Erica+Sieg 1.5k People
Kain+Lionna 3.5k people

It's nice that after this Gestapo announcement you still have some faith that opinions on process are welcomed!
Points to you for optimism.
How will they solve double name issue ?
U get to pay to keep your name ?
Under no condition I'm willing to change the name of any of my toons !
I can accept we need siege castle again to obtain it but loosing a clanhall and get a 'refund' ??? ain't that absurd ???
The prices of a CH was already insanely high I think U will have to place at least double that ammount to have a chance on getting the CH back ...
When reading up on what we 'can keep' its almost like NC makes it sound as they grant us a favour ... I think its not more than 'normal' we don't loose belongings, most of us have been working hard to obtain items over the years ... Wouldn't it be a favour to get some kind of compensation for the inconvenience we will be suffering ? {*hint* some unique item for each account }
NCsoft will get the answer believe me. they lose much players i think then they merge all servers to one! i pay for the whole game and for all servers with my account. get we anything back for that **** merge?
I am requesting information on how the auctionable clanhalls will be put up for re-acution (This is very important address believe, looking forward to a speedy response plz).

Well its a good thing we didn't have leadership transfer ability way back when, because that would have meant my clan would have only received 150m in reimbursed for a aden hall. As it stands now I'm still getting less then the max bid amounts because of a 1b to 2b change in a previous chronicle.

To be honest, it is not a bad suggestion. Big clans on the current server all have clan halls - they became big because that clan had a clan hall, and smaller clans merged together with them for that reason during the Great Ally Reforming when only 3 clans were allowed per ally. Clan halls are a very important asset for them. What would be the point if now two servers merge and half of the clan halls are bought up by ebayers with 20 people low lvl clans, while the REALLY big clans stand there and lose everything, just because they logged on 5 seconds too late when the server came up? It is bad enough that not all clans who currently have a clan hall can get one. I agree that the auctions should not be restricted ONLY to the clans who hold a clan hall right now, but there should be some limit (minimum members, minimum clan level) to make sure that the clan halls actually go to clans who will seriously make use of them, and not to one-person clans or (worse) farmers who then try to resell them to the highest (rl money) bidder... This is not the start of a completely new server, this is a merging of two servers and keeping the "status quo" of clans as much as possible is a good thing. It should not be about luck, at least as much as it can be avoided when resources are limited.
Of course I'll miss the easy search for hunting grouds and my clan hall, but as stated countless times in other discussions, this is an MMORPG - so you want many people on one server. It's also a game with a strong PVP focus (although PVE is great too, don't get me wrong).
Even with the merge, there will be fewer people than in C2/C3. BUT compared to C2/C3 there are waaaaaaaayyy more hunting grouds.
It aint a bad thing peeps - look at the bright side: more people, better market and I'm sure there's much more :)
I dont want a **** transfer. when i want one i pay for it . Nice NCsoft kill more players. i dont want the ppl from a other server. im happy with this i have. ****it rly. make a voting and everyone from the server can vote. we pay this game so we can vote.

I like you.
Ditto, I think it's complete bull that we could not have a choice in this matter.
good thing is i will have no problem with my name :P
on the other hand what concerns me most is the CH thing. every other changesa re reversable in time ( get castle siegable clanhalls/fortresses) but hell there are ppl that worked rly hard for their clanhall and devoted themselves to get such a thing to help themselves and their member. and didn't just use the plastic.
as stated above the fairest solution would be that only the holder or a clanhall (at this point) are able to bid for clanhalls at the first bidding round.
every other action would be a punch in the kidneys again for legit hardworking players
1. i play to have fun if im not having fun after this merge they can kiss my 60 bucks a month goodbye.....
2. i have 25 toons... if i log in and all my toons are renamed NAMECHANGE099 ill be pi$$ed... our char reps are based on our names and ill be darned if i gonna sacrifice my rep built over 4 yrs...
3. If i have to pvp just to play this game they can kiss my 60 bucks a month bye bye as well. When u make it mandatory to pvp for lvling spots u take the choice to pvp outta the game and into the hands of "who has the best gear" im a carebear and want to remain a carebear....
PS Question for Alyra... my wife brought up a good question... will NCSOFT reimburse the SP lost for creating the alliances since its not our fault u guys decided to merge servers?
this is a sign nc dosen't care what we want. i will stick around to see what happens but most of you have said it best and i think i my take my money else where if it gos they way i think it will. 3 years and i lose my home ser for what more people to fight for huntting spots forget that. if i lose any of my items im gone. so we will see. this is a sign lineage 2 is losing players and not making the money, so thanks nc for letting us all know.
We all knew that it would hurt if they do mergers and I'm sure there was a lot of talk about how it would make the players mad.
I do not have a dog in this fight, but the way they merged the servers can make sense since a high population server can not just overrun a lower population server.
Zoyra and I have been around Hinde since beta...Polaris has been around since C1...we have owned a clan hall, paying the daily fees since the first day that clan halls became available in Aden...and now we get 50 million adena to bid on a new one? Have you really considered what this is going to do to your player base? It is my thinking that you may just want to save yourself some time, and go ahead and consoldate down to one server...it is a matter of time before the bot runners and ebayers own all the clan halls, and all the regular paying folk are gone. Sad day for NC Soft indeed, and for you to try to disguise this as "exciting news" is nothing more than pitiful.
good thing is i will have no problem with my name :P

Yes it is a grave injustice affecting a lthe large active player base of the servers that are merging and ridiculous to think that those that put forth the hardwork for their CH are put at the mercy of the plastic, gg NCSoft.
This is my only issue tbh. Increased player base will be good for lots of different things, allbeit im sure many will quit over this or transfer accordingly. Oh and I would also consider, knowing how the game works, that the good ol B-Hammer strikes more often if at all once these merges are complete.
All I can say is this frelling sux! My clan has worked hard for clan lvl 9 and we've been working on 10. GJ NCsoft. I'm about ready to quit this **** game.
I can honestly say that I can see nothing good coming from this. Having been observing the game for over four years now, I often tried to find the good in everything, no matter how small it is.
But now to see this... To see all the work that has been done over the last four years in establishing server personalities and specifics (RP server anyone?), I can see this as only a slap in the face.
When I first joined the clan that I now lead, I made a promise. I promised our then leader that I would stay until the lights went out on Lionna. Is my promise fulfilled now?
I can honestly say that I don't know what will happen from here.
And on a minor point--I have 7 toons on Lionna 40-67.
I have 3 toons on Kain including only lowbies but still with stuff I have earned in game.
So to get all 7 of my 'real' toons on Lionna onto the new server, the 3 from Kain have to disappear?
What do I do with the stuff/adena they have on Kain, throw it on the ground?
I can't leave any toons from Kain to transfer earned gear/adena without deleting a 40+ toon on Lionna?
That's fair.
Okay, this is garbage of the highest order. My friendslist, gone, my alliance, gone. My toons names? I am VERITA and have always been..... Possibly gone. I have 9 toons, does that mean I lose two of them? WTF?? How am I to be SURE which ones? What about my equipment?
To say I'm ****** is an understatement. We WILL be having a clan meeting tonight. I just called everyone who is important. Might be time for a NEW game.
And for all you little whiny "merge servers" folks, you got your wish. I just wonder if you will still be playing on them alone????
Zoyra and I have been around Hinde since beta...Polaris has been around since C1...we have owned a clan hall, paying the daily fees since the first day that clan halls became available in Aden...and now we get 50 million adena to bid on a new one?
That is of course extremely silly - you are right, clans who bid on a clan hall in the early chronicles bid far less than clans who got a clan hall via max bid only an expansion or two ago. So when the new server comes up, one clan who had a clan hall stands there with 50m plus whatever spare change they have, while another clan who had a similar clan hall got his max bid back and has tons more money to bid on a new clan hall. This might not be a problem for a server-ruling alliance which regularly farms all the big epics and has no trouble raising billions of adena whenever it is necessary, but for many clans it will be hard to get the necessary money before the server merge without having to sell lots of stuff (it's only 4 weeks away, after all). Remember, this is a server merge, so even the "unimportant" clan halls will see max bids.
The lack of choice/influence that the community (who the game is for right?) has been given to this executive decision is just horrible and Ill keep phrasing it different ways to keep it interesting ;).
what i can say about this:
1 did they ever asked us, the ppl who pay if we want this?
2 well if they dont want my money i will spend them in other games so no need to worry or stress myself .
3 bb ncsoft and i am going to make all my friends quit too, hmm i wonder why... gl everyone , i hope u do the right thing.
you get refund on money spend buying the ch which you can use to bid on new one and you can reform alliances after servers are back up so far so good..
the real pain will come on how the naming will work as the oldest char name/clan name will stay and the other will have pick a new one.. glad my name is from closed beta ^^
I guess this is a good thing, there are dead clans holding 3/4 of the CHs in goddard and aden. First second after the server comes up i know what im gonna be doing :)
I guess this is a good thing, there are dead clans holding 3/4 of the CHs in goddard and aden. First second after the server comes up i know what im gonna be doing :)
See that is fine but the fact that the previous clan halls won't get privilege over auctioning rights is just dumb. At least if privileges given to previous CH owners it still weeds out the dead clans b/c the leaders will not return to rebid on it.
But now to see this... To see all the work that has been done over the last four years in establishing server personalities and specifics (RP server anyone?), I can see this as only a slap in the face.
Alot of you have valid concerns that need some revisements of the stated goings on to occur.
but more of you have concerns that have no validility.
First off.
Don't complain about names and how they could change. This is Pre merge information, Complain about it Post Merge and the results are actually tangeable. Till then, please leave that out of the conversation.
2nd,
Clan Hall have been reinbursted for what was orginally paid for it is a bit of a mistake. It's quite plainly obvious that someone that had purchased a clan hall and continued to pay the fees and keep it over the duration of the game should be rewarded with a more likely chance of getting one again.
And someone that just got it less then a day ago today by paying the ultimate price shouldn't just get a instant reinburstment and retry so easily.
Frankly i think anyone that got a clan hall when they first appeared for any price, and continues to have one today should probably be rewarded with the maximum bid value.
Now the only conadrum here is, who says how long someone has to own a clan hall for them to get the max bid value put into thier wh? Should ncsoft just flatout give everyone that owns a clan hall the max bid value straight away? Or maybe implement a interest baring system where depending on how much you bid, and how long you've had it, your total bid value will increase %tage wise?
Frankly no one will agree, but most will accept that if everyone was given max bid, EVERYONE reguardless of what they got the clan hall for orginally people will be happy.
But this presents another issue.
Every leader gets max bit, that's a total of 2.19 (give or take) Billion adena per clan leader, NOW consider this, per new server, only HALF of the clan leaders will have won the clan halls, the rest will have this 2.19 billion sitting in thier wh's. This would cause mass inflation and problems all around. Imagine a player that owns multiple clan halls through multiple characters. Now someone else will fly off the handle when they comprehend this thought.
So i will provide another solution, Every clan reinburst for what they paid for the clan hall, HOWEVER, provide a Server Merge Clan Hall token to each clan, 1 Token provide max bid. This token cannot be sold or dropped or transferred.
Servers come up, clan leaders log in, run to the clan hall and bid emediately using the token and problem solved. First come First serve for only clan that had OWNED a clan hall previously.
LOL...
I see 95% of the complaints are from carebears that dont want more pvp and ppl that have 20 OMG LVL 30-60 PRO chars and are ****** cuz some will be deleted . And another complaint from a clan about ch. FFS you dont deserve aden ch if you are a 3 year old clan and cant come up with 2 bil...
It's a very good move from ncsoft, only real problem I see will be name conflicts.
P.S. Its a **** mmorgp btw, more ppl more fun ALWAYS...
pps: Stop treathing to quit, no1 cares, and it makes you look silly
what i can say about this:
1 did they ever asked us, the ppl who pay if we want this?
2 well if they dont want my money i will spend them in other games so no need to worry or stress myself .
3 bb ncsoft and i am going to make all my friends quit too, hmm i wonder why... gl everyone , i hope u do the right thing.
its lil late for this all the ppl that wanted more action have already left the servers, the ppl remaineing are here becuze they didnt want to move, now that go and move everyone anyways all its gonna do is make most the remaining real players quit the game. good going nc soft....

Imho the best solution among all posts here till now.. +5
With the combined servers occuring, this promotes MMO... what this game is essentially,
Anyone that played back before populations simply disappeared, one reason alot of people left or transfered was simply due to the lack of people online in the first place.
While alot of you seemed to be overly concerned about your "pvping for a lvling spot" may not be far fetched, it's hardly going to shape up to be what the higher populated servers will turn out like. The initial first few weeks will be shaky, with people that are far to stuborn to use thier own heads and PLAY the game instead they want to sit in the corner and continue to beat the dead horse while others are having a time of thier life, running into either prevous friends, and mingling with new faces. Frankly the merge is more then welcomed and was required because these servers were dropping off the map and not even showing a noticeable pulse anymore "AKA Seighardt with sub 250 active players or less"
Why must people emediately think "doom and gloom and the worst possible senarios"
Ncsoft provides the servers, the players make the servers what it will be.
If there are more server space slots then there are players to fill them, obviosly things will be far to thin breaking the orginal design of the game.
Funny fact, Humans are known for there abilities to work with a sudden and extreme change, analyze it and then adapt to work with it. Apparently some humans don't fall into that norm. In which case natural selection kicks in and the ones that aren't able to adapt.......
I see everything brought up so far has already been discussed in other server merger threads. I am fortunatley on Devianne and am not affected by this. I do however feel for everyone who is effected. The issues brought up, specially clan hall issues are very valid.
IMO every clan owning a clan hall should be reimbersed the value of a clan hall NOT what they paid for it when the game started. Every player and every dev knows max bid will be need for a clan hall. If you own a clan Hall you should be reinbersed the max bid not what the clan bid to win the clan hall.
From the announcement it also sounds like this is going to happen with the CT2 update. So are we looking at CT2 at the end of July? Hmmmmmm.
what i can say about this:
1 did they ever asked us, the ppl who pay if we want this?
2 well if they dont want my money i will spend them in other games so no need to worry or stress myself .
3 bb ncsoft and i am going to make all my friends quit too, hmm i wonder why... gl everyone , i hope u do the right thing.
its lil late for this all the ppl that wanted more action have already left the servers, the ppl remaineing are here becuze they didnt want to move, now that go and move everyone anyways all its gonna do is make most the remaining real players quit the game. good going nc soft....
this is false.
as it's been constantly discussed over the passed 4 years for server merges and expansions.
Only recently within the last year has it become even more desired by many many people.
They did ask us, but in a way that simply was reversed, we actually stepped forward and told them.
From there dozens of people chimed in and gave thier standings on the matter, specific issues where raised and addressed. It's quite obvious some of these questions/answer/solutions/problems that were raised where also considered.
All you have to do is use forum search fuctions... volla...
All I can say is this frelling sux! My clan has worked hard for clan lvl 9 and we've been working on 10. GJ NCsoft. I'm about ready to quit this **** game.
We aren't losign levle 9 or the warehouse, all we have to do is rebuy a clanhall and retake a castle/
this is just bulls... f*** bulls... I wont disagree for the good valid points that some of them make sense & agreed its fair, but on the balance side, its more bad than good, period.
The worst fear is, if this can happen now, meaning it could happen again, now for the ppl who barely afford a ch, would they still go for it? Or just plain give NC a finger & say good bye, not cuz they lost what they got now, but even if they get it back, they prolly will lose the next next ones when there's 2nd merge again due to NC's incapability of holding its products....
hell, I heard on the myth side, Lineage 2 is like Lineage 1 similar story, base on 12 chapters... now if this is 7.5.. there's 3/4 more to go? And already merging servers? Not a good sign...
Lots of discussion on hunting areas being filled with bots or lots more players. Easy solution really. As i travel the byways and highways of L2 i notice something as i look around. Lots of areas r Mob-less. If its not a safe area then i should be running into Mobs of whatever lvl area i am in. L2 has massive amounts of open area with nothing, and i do mean nothing in it. Haven't figured that out yet. But maybe NCSoft should. If i wanted to see open spaces i'd look out my window. Shouldn't see much of it in L2. Fix that and you've fixed what may be the main reason people decide to give L2 the boot. Activate the "more mobs" software, then lets see how it all works out.
And as for the bot problem, easy solution is to play your own **** game. If you had say a few people on your payroll that were paid just to play the game then i wouldn't have to tell you about the bots you'd already know. Hell you can't help but run into them on a regular bases. But the "we'll look into it" hasn't worked in how many **** years? Play your own **** game occasionally and the bot problem would end almost over-night. because i can assure u that you'll run into a bot crew in ever cata that you have running. Take it from a regular player, if you see a c-grade healer in a Agrade cata without a weapon and all she does is stand up to heal then sit back down...Its a bott. Play the game, solve your bott problem.
Unfortunately while you start off with a "justifiable" post.. you quickly trash it with your "you don't desserve a clan hall if you can't bid max bid"
I could go into great detail on how utterly rediculious that statement is, but that's counterproductive to the thread.
LOL...

They voice their opinions of dislike just like you but only one person I believe has posted on more players being a problem I look forward to a larger population more or less just for the sake of the market.
By your post though I can imagine you are a lvl 80 multi-subbed person looking down on the casual player but they themselves are pretty much unaffected by the server merges because you are on one of the safe ones (Teon, Franz, or Bartz). It is well within your right to speak your mind but based on my assessment are unfit to comment on the merges. Feel free to more compassionate later on though.

you raise a very VERY interesting and valid point.
Alot of the monsters in areas that are older simply never had mobs, or where mobs used to be, are no longer there at all.
The issue with "pvping to lvl" can be easily resolved, but as i can't really say what i know what ncsoft is doing, i would expect at some point that these areas be brought back to life at some point.

No Kiroth but a clan has to hold a castle for a certain amount of time to earn the item to level the clan to level 10
Judas, I love you and have always loved your posts and you've taught me so very much....
but on what planet is a provider of a paid service intending to stress it's paying customers to the point of "survival of the most fit"?
What in the name of God kind of company would have that as their survival strategy?
You don't go into business to set up a social experiment. You go into business and package an attractive product people will attach value to.
McDonald's doesn't ONLY offer the McLean and hand out instruction pamphlets for PETA. They COULD--but it would be a strange business strategy for them.
The thing is, many of us on the "low population servers" HAVE very effectively already redefined our community. Numbers on Lionna have NOT continued to fall--they've been relatively constant. Many of us had value in the community we've rebuilt since transfers and Luna.
RPer's still went to the wishing well--and White Order still held all the hero positions for the most part.
We have had wars, and raids. My little clan recently took a fortress and beat Orfen--which was a hell of an accomplishment for us to throw together a loose alliance of 4-5 neutral clans.
We were building new associations--our manor WORKED for the first time.
Many of us were fine--and many of the "I MUST PVP every second" crowd already left.
The question isn't 'can' NCSoft do this--of course they can.
Will it be 'better'? Guess that depends and we'll see.
"Should" they have done this and should they have done it the way they apparently have? I'm going with no as my personal view.
Hmm where are those people that applauded server merges......Id say that the grass in general is NOT greener on the other side?
Yes there will always be casualities in war but it looks clear that the A-Bomb was dropped on this little shin dig.
There has ALWAYS been the norm that when a good thing occurs, you never hear of it, or rarely ever hear of it (only the celebrity status good things tend to crop up OR in rare cases does a unknown person show up with good stuff to show and tell).
In essense, reguardless of what is good or bad, or both, The people that are looking forward to it generally aren't going to voice how much they absalutely love the company for doing such things.
However the people generally for lack of a better word, royally ****** off, are going to find every avenue to make it known that they are ticked beyond reason. Top if off, they tend to work very closely in finding others that have the same views or similare views and concerns to expresse.
What about the clans that can come up with the 2 billion but when the server comes up they weren't because THEY HAVE JOBS!.
When I first bought my clan's clan hall I took a day off from work to make sure I got it. Thankfully I am not on a merge server but I feel for these clan hall owners. Most of our clans would of died out long ago without clan halls especially if your not in a power clan.

A man I totaly agree. Losing a clan hall at this time in the game can be enough to make entire clans quit the game.

I AM FOR SERVER MERGES.
True enough but I would assume they would come and try to influence the frowning masses with hopes of a better world the one that they see (some have) to have fun debates on what is acceptable policy.
Statistically though I will bet that those who were looking forward to merges did the transfer thing thus making their points moot on the discussion, being that they are on a safe server they now come to enjoy.
to the folks "on the sideline"...ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee.
Devianne and Bartz--you think after you fall below 2k when Luna transfers actually open that you won't have this same "opportunity"?
yeah, right.
They will open luna transfers, your populations will fall, and now that the cascade has begun you will get to partake at that time.
worse, the holy number of 3k has been established now. Rather than do a **** thing to improve the game, or to attract players and pay some of their dwindling revenues for marketing, the stage has been set.
A newly merged server, oh heck--let's call it '*******'--drops to an average of 2k players and what happens 6 months from now?
Yup--those folks get to be "merged" again!
I'm beginning to think "merged" is a synonym for "[censored]".
A man I totaly agree. Losing a clan hall at this time in the game can be enough to make entire clans quit the game.
Agreed, the dynamics of each merging server's population will change drastically and I have yet to see an argument that would even slighty get me to lean towards a smidge of positivity on this front.

But you have to consider the following:
The good of the many outweigh the good of the few.
While on a per person, personal opinion of how things were running, everyone is likely to state something different in just about every manner. A number of people will frown upon merges due to what may happen to only 1 specific thing, but would love it if that one thing was revised to thier likeing. This isn't abnormal at all, it's to be expected.
Also while it's unfortunate that a the personality of a server will likely never be the same, it doesn't have to be looked at in that manner. People fear change, there is a high tendancy to expect the worse instead of for the best. And people tend to be more lazy then in a state of mind to work to make it the best. Nothing good comes to those that wait, and nothing great comes to those that don't work for it. While patience is a virtue, there is such thing as waiting far to long, and expecting someone else to make it good for you.
In what business does a business continueously provide more then there is for demand? If there is far more server slots, that aren't being filled for months or years on end at all or even EVER.... and this affects multiple servers (6 in total the most)..... then what business would do this?
You use mcdonalds as an example. They use "survival" experiments all the time. It's called launching a product and then seeing how it fairs and terminating it when it's in more supply then there is demand, and when the breaking point is reach where the cost of the minimum supply is still far to much then the demand.
This works no differently then servers, At what point does a server NEED to be merged with another? I think 250 out of 6000+ is a pretty dead server. Don't you think? No? 200? 150? 50? 1? Wheres the line? And who determines where the line is to be drawn?
NCSoft made a final decision.
While i question that numbers and there reasons on merging specific servers together, i have absalutely no questions on why they are mergine any server at all.
Hmm where are those people that applauded server merges......Id say that the grass in general is NOT greener on the other side?

I'm am one of many people that are for it.
While i'm curious to know how many are actually for the merges, i'm not at all surprised that i'm so far the only one really for the merges, aside from maybe 2-5 others that haven't REALLY voiced thier opinions fully.
I've also stated concerns about the merges occuring, some people that have already posted may be for the servers, but have only asked or stated that they dislike 1 specific thing, in which case as i had pointed out in a previous post, some people are likely fully supportive of the merge but only if 1 specific issue is resolved in the manner they like.
It should not be about luck, at least as much as it can be avoided when resources are limited.
the real pain will come on how the naming will work as the oldest char name/clan name will stay and the other will have pick a new one.. glad my name is from closed beta ^^
to the folks "on the sideline"...ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee.

Valid point, has there really been any attempt at a positive campaign in the North American market? Not that I can see. It must have been known that when you keep opening transfers and making a whole new server that the players that leave don't just magically reproduce on the server they left. Right?

Im quoting you Drak, cus you said pretty much what I wanted to say but probably better.
I'm very sad Lionna is going to lose it's unoffical RP status and its awesome current community which is full of lovely people and no morons. I don't wish to be forced to PvP, although I don't expect it to be as bad as Teon, the normal problem of fields full of strangly acting players will be far worse.
Look we all think more people would be better but why not new people. why not more real people play l2. why not. no one knows about lineage2. wow is on every thing people know about it. NCsoft could spend a lil money and make more and make the game more fun and we don't have to go thought this f...ed up mess. im sick of the changes. that make me think what can the f up next. i like to pvp. but i like to pve with out having to pvp. so go out there and get new people and stop this idea.

I also don't question 'why' Judas. I know very well. And your points about resource allotment are of course accurate.
I'm not happy. That's the bottom line.
....and not because I'm carebear and not because I can't compete or any of the other drivel offered as reasoning.
Lionna HAS a personality--a real one. And we didn't get it from NCSoft. We built it. It took effort.
And I'm sorry but dammit it's dead, now.
All that work and effort--the time.
Our answer is "you're supposed to start over and rebuild a new server with a new personality".
But you know what? I don't want to. I'm also a little afraid I don't have the energy anymore.
Lionna is far from perfect and I can't say what should have been done with it. I can't even argue with a straight face that how it has evolved is "right".
I CAN say it is what I've been used to and it's current structure has allowed me to be more successful and I've come to like it these past months.
Now?
I just don't know anymore.
I feel like I've done a lot as a casual player in 2.5 years. I'm proud of what I've been able to do in the game architecture. I'm happy with my progress.
Now a huge number of my clanmates are talking about quitting. My CL is questioning if he will continue. I'm being merged with a server generally felt to be anti-RP........
Sorry-but I don't think these are unreasonable fears and hesitations and upset on my part because I'm somehow weak or inadequate.
Agreed. I honestly think they should have tried a good campaign market before throwing in the towel on the servers. I mentioned before my Best Buy was sold out. Was there any attempt to restock? To advertise? Put the game on sale? What they might've lost in revenue on the DVD's for the game, they might have made up in subscription revenue.
Now that I am a bit calmer, I can see some pro's to this. But not too many to be honest. I see griefing and the such as the big dogs try to show who is bigger, etc. I might just take a month or so off, let the dust settle then see what happens. But I have to say, I am still not happy.
Small clans don't get to do the mass PVP in sieges like they are talking about. We dont even get invited. So again, I want someone to tell me what is in this for me? And don't tell me to join a bigger clan. Our clan is tight knit and IF we stay in game, that won't change.
Quite frankly all I see is more competition for cata rooms, for mob hunting grounds (not like they're gonna do anything about the bot issue anytime soon).
(mumbles about really wanting to keep the name she has had for 2 years and the reputation behind it)
That is def another interesting problem the case of Lionna. As far as I know the server identity there is that of roleplaying out of the all the 11 servers taht exist. I feel bad that a server's history will be besmirched (lol trying new words atm). In the greater scheme of things I would not know if the RP communtiy could survive or let alone want to stay within the environment they will be put into. I hope that they will keep that tradition going for them.
I thoroughly enjoy this short-notice shakeup (though if you haven't seen it coming, here's an adena, go buy a clue), as it is an impetus to call to arms all of the cage-rattling emos.
Ayup, we've had a clan hall since early in C2, didn't pay much for it, so we won't be getting much back. Awwwwwwwwwwww.
And Golly! There will be more people on the server! Oh, what shall we do? lol. Gustin's and Hind's respective Big Three get reset to wanna be king-of-the-hill status, and now have to compete among themselves for FARMland.
It will be chaotic, super-emo and endlessly entertaining watching ye'all lose sections of yer stomach linings fretting the change.
For me and mine, we will be provided with the endless, enchanting entertainment of watching ye emotionally implode.
And for just me personally, I'll gain far more friends and still more wannabes for me to feel superior to and to ridicule.
As for the economy of one changing the other, hah! L2 is a straightforward Smythian economy with Marxian infiltrates. If you don't know how to use that to your best advantage, you are obviously not a dwarf. Just a toon that has dwarves for support.
Have a cracker with yer whine, kiddies. I'll be seein' ye soon.
Too bad this is all what, 3 weeks away? Will be interesting to see how much money and jewels will be farmed to try and get that extra edge by the big clans in the next little bit.
Yea but there 'were' other solutions to the population issue that chose not to be remedied before leading up to well, this. And for the pro side having more ppl is seemingly all that they have going for them, it will be interesting to see player turnover a month after merges happen.
Your still thinking to far into the future and to harshly about the conditions that may come.
If you walk in with a negative attitude to what your not completely sure off, you'll always tend to push that feeling in on what is actually a nuetral circumstance. AKA making a ify situation bad before your able to begin.
If you start up L2, July 8th, and think happy thoughts, with a planning to try and contact those that you frequent with, you'll likely be more forgiving of the situation and realize that it wasn't all that bad after all.
Well, loosing a clan hall is really enough for some ppl and even clans to quit la2. At the same time all good CHs will be sold within first seconds of new servers for 2.19bil. The clans will be compeeting not in making the highest bid, but in making the fastest click. That's bad.
So here's a crazy idea. Write down a list of all clan halls ordered by their ingame value (goddard, rune, aden, giran,...). Make a list of all clans currently owning clanhalls in the two servers to merge and count the number of active accounts in each clan, possibly not counting accounts created in June. And finally distribute the clan-halls between those clans manually. Dead clans and small clans will loose their CHs, but major clans will not be affected or at least will be affected not so dramatically.
Yea but there 'were' other solutions to the population issue that chose not to be remedied before leading up to well, this. And for the pro side having more ppl is seemingly all that they have going for them, it will be interesting to see player turnover a month after merges happen.
I can easily argue that while More People is the Major deciding factor for it being a plus..
With more people, there is more of a stableized or interesting market to deal with,
Larger list of supplies to be had, better competitive prices.
High grade equipment is more easily obtainable, Not only that, but more people on providing the ability to actually do raid bosses over lvl 50 without becoming puddles on the ground of blood and guts.
Seighardt was getting so bad that even inviting enemies to raid resulted in not enough people or resources to manage to kill simplier raids that larger population servers simply would giggle over thinking "you couldn't do those? wtf?"
What's worse is that fact that watching a single clan run around with all the heroes and one sided server makes for a dull server... Usually with this situation, the top clan tends to start looking for someone to fight with, instead of splitting thier own ranks as evenly as possible to fight amongst themselves (people tend to not want to do that specially with risk involved)...
Then you are for reduction, reducing, scaling back, down sizing, eliminating, closing.... :)
only if you thinkin in a one track negative mind.
Consolidating and providing something meaty enough to make new players think "wow there is actually SOMEONE around here" instead of logging on and going "where the hell are the players" is a very good business solution that can lead to expanding again.
AS i asked previously, at what point would you want a merge? Never? why?
New players will log in on the server and simply leave shortly, either they log onto another server.. hopefully bartz or one of the euro servers, to play with someone.
OR
Discontinue thier subcription and never play again
I don't know how I'll feel about this in a few weeks, or how others in my clan will react. But I know Seighardt had just gotten too small; the economy was really weak, and server politics had, IMO, decayed rather badly. I hope for the market to be better. I concede that I don't know if the politics on the merged server A will be an improvement or not.

Lots follows population and I am all for that but it is the outright poor handling of many touchy issues that is just ridiculous. Problem is though im pretty sure these posts will fall to blind eyes being just a way for people to express their disgust in hopes for a positive reaction from the allmighty powers that be.
Then you are for reduction, reducing, scaling back, down sizing, eliminating, closing.... :)
My server is small (Gustin), my WHOLE server was HAPPY about this merge.
So at least with us they scored a +++++.
What server are you from so I can pray not to merge with you?
Oh, yah and Im a carebear by gustin standards.
Only thing I see negative here is the clan halls. But then you have fortresses and siegable clan halls.
You all seem like girls on your "special time" by how you are crying,
Grow a pair and say : Competition! Instead of " omg whah whaw i cant pve" ffs.. go play wow then if that is what you want, servers will be better off w/o you guys if that is the case.
realy upset that halls being reset.. to ****** to read all post there got be easier solutionn ... there is unused halls in every town just make them usable now. for what i paid 3 yrs ago in begining c-3 wont buy new hall now. i wil probaly quit because of this, its the only reason why still play . only thing i worked hard f or that cant (well thought wrong) taken way by greedy.

Well with regards to 'HAPPY' for myself I would have to say that I am not and being part of the "WHOLE' I would have to say your statement is unfounded to be discredited by your poor statistical knowledge :P.
And competition is fine but I do not want it to be with afk'rs and their enforcers all the time get annoying not being able to hold a convo with them, like not too long ago.
Castles can be regained; alliances reformed. THE problem is the clan halls. Those who have had an active clan hall from the beginning, and have spent hundreds of millions of adena maintaining it, cannot imagine not having their hall. MANY players will leave if this cannot be resolved fairly. Clan halls should be distributed on some basis like this:
1. Those that have had a clan hall from the very beginning (the first auction for that hall) and have had it EVER since should retain their hall.
If 2 clans both qualify for the same clan hall under that criteria, one clan is given a similiar hall in that town.
2. All other clans with clan halls should be allowed to bid on the remaining clan halls during the first auction cycle--which has been suggested several times on this thread.
3. Any clan halls remaining after the first auction cycle could be bid on by any level 5 or higher clan.
Most clan halls have changed hands, so #1 as suggested should work.
Another way, of course, would be to simply double the number of clan halls, but I don't know if that is possible.
The biggest issue I see is clan halls. The reason why it's a big deal is because the winner of the clan hall is NOT the first person to bid the max bid. Whoever bids 1st can always change their bid before the auction ends to the maximum and they will win the CH.

I request once again from a GM for the information on allocation as there is no way you could have decided to spring the news without needing to provide the community with more information......or coooould you?
Cherelle
I have a similar point to make. I bid on my Aden clan hall the day they became available as well. My winning bid was 52mil. Since then I've been offered as high as 5bil adena in game to sell it, but I've always declined because it is an invaluable asset.
I would expect NC Soft to at least pay max bid, 2BIL to all of those losing clan halls. If I had put this clan hall up for bid yesterday, before the announcement, it would've sold for 2BIL immediately.
I won my clan fair square in c-3 worked my but off as young player of the game. I risked alot . Clannys donated alot. Unfortanly they wont know the out come when they return from the WAR that Hall was taken back. And we loss to the rich. I barley keep enough to pay rent. in hall. My reimbursed price is chump change compared to max bid. My hall is in giran, there are halls in giran atm on sieghardt that arent even used and there owned By "alt" clans. ones across the hall from mine. havent seen the door opened sense transfer started. .......Just sad needs to be better solution.
I think the Chaotic Chronicle should have been CT2... this is intense! though I'm not happ with deleting my friend/block list. That's custom made!
Server transfers were nothing more than a study to see where people wanted to be. When other servers thinned out, NC Soft knew what they were doing next. Again, I say, SAVE THE FRIEND LIST!

Yo, **, Verita has more perverbial balls than you will ever have real ones ; back off or step up. Actually, just migrate!
Hmmm... as much as I didnt want to say this .. but .. I TOLD YOU SO... You were told your were killing the servers with horrible drop rates, spoil rates, quest rates, lack of advertisement, the fact you can't buy the game in stores that sell pc games, time cards either!! !!! These are not the only major problems you have been told about but its a good start.. How many players have you got to loose before the L2 team is going to wake up .. With a few modifications of the game, some advertising and marketing, this game could be the biggest mmrpg ever created... Instead I see L2 constantly shooting itself in the foot. Combining the servers is in my opionion is a terrible idea... If stuff goes wrong you guys may as well get ready to combine another 2 servers because your gonna have that many people quiting out of those servers. Im not trying to be all negitive here. But I told you guys this was going to happen over 1 year ago... My post probably got deleted for being negitive.. I can fix it all if you want me to!
So basically, NCsoft is ignoring the fact that many people here pay more for the community than for the game? That some people actually choose to play on low-population servers due to the lack of a non-PvP server? Heck, that some people payed for a transfer, and now their old and new server are getting combined, making them waste 50 bucks and everything they had to leave behind?
I remember the business policy being "the costumer is always right". Whatever happened to this?
Honestly, some of this people have given you more than their share of money over the years, and now you screw the people that keep you going because of LOLPROFIT?
to the folks "on the sideline"...ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee.
I'm beginning to think "merged" is a synonym for "[censored]".
good, get those euros out of my server
all they do is play at weird [censored] times and inflate my server with artificial numbers
Finally. I've been playing Conan and this will actually bring me back to see what's improved.
For those moaning about clan halls, this will take clan halls away from those who continue to hold them with an iron grip with alt clans while they play on another server and give them back to the people. Those crying about losing the worth of the hall, stuff it. When it comes time to bid again for them, you cry over how much you "should" be reimbursed, but make NO mention of the benefit you've had for however long while denying others the chance to ever hold it.
For those talking about how they "liked" the low-pop community, get real. Servers are not going to become instant PVP deathmatches. Two low-pop servers do not equate to Bartz or any other "PVP" server. We'll be fine.
Well, Lets start.
I play in devianne, my server used to be a good server and now i can't even recruit to my clan, not cause we are not good or other reason but cause almost all the server i play is made of idiot bots and few old school players that are already done in their clans.
Giran is dead, you dont see people walking just selling all days, the market is dead. All the starter and medium villages are dead.
So i come to this topic and see that there will be a merge, i thought it was suposed to be fine and that it would help fair people like me that carry a clan for more than 2 years but no, my server is dead and noone will do anything about this?
Please, send someone, any GM to a castle siege on devianne and see the 2 parties fighting for 1 castle. It will be awsome to see the 18 people trying to make it, a regular pvp.
I'm not satisfied with this situation. I wanna know what will be done with my server cause it's dead and, if you are going to help the other players from the other servers, i wanna be helped and my people to be helped too.
Waiting for a position cause devianne is really dead.
Look at it from the standpoint of a clan that doesn't currently or hasn't owned one before Saf. And, yes, my clan currently owns one. I personally can think of at least two (off the top of my head) that are still owned by clans that left over a year ago. They just had that much money in the CH.
I still think merges are a good thing. And I consider a "fresh" start the only real viable way to go.
It's as if it's the end of the world... lol. It's happening so deal with it. As people have said, the only problem is the clan hall issue, but tbh I doubt that many clans on Gustin can afford 2 bil for a clan hall, maybe 10... if its the same on Hind it won't be too much of a problem.
(BTW my clan is far from rich, we might very well lose our clan hall to never get another, but for me the positives outway the negatives. It's a game, it's meant to be fun. This will be fun.)
Then you are for reduction, reducing, scaling back, down sizing, eliminating, closing.... :)

WoW I didn't know there were 2 Devianne servers!!! THe one you just described isn't the same one I play on. Maybe it's the time frame you play but it's definatly not dead.
I have no problem with this... the game is NCsoft's to do with what they will... but reading all this makes me wonder what it would be like if the more populated servers were BLESSED with a reset as well... it would be nice to have a 1 week period where all wars were ended and all the alliances were broken... It would alst be nice to have the castles back up in the air... I hope in vain that the non-merged servers will someday be this lucky.
OMG it would be nice as well to think that all the unused toons we have made... and the countless millions of old bot toons and things could also be deleted ^^ that has to be a benefactor in lag issues.... holy crap... now I REALY REALY REALY want it on the corwded servers... please? please? pretty please?
This such short notice sucks... realy wish i could of pawned my hall off to some poor sucker. But I'll b happy gettign my 150 mil back for what i paid for my hall . not like i'l be able to win it again for that amount. just so some idiot can sit on it , not use it . bad game mechanics. Hell if wanted happy customers, you can check this for yourself, log on each server and observe each hall in use youl see there not be used, yes Iam crying.... have a right I paid my monthly fee. worked hard for it.ANd want keep it.
I'm sorry, but I just don't get that, at all. While you may not know it because I've been fairly inactive for the last year or two, I am sure I've spent just as much time on this server as you, put just as much effort into the game. I've been around since OB and played a LOT in C1-C4. I've taken a more casual, laid back approach since then due to work. IMO, it was clans, alliances and friendships that were built, not "Lionna".
You don't have the energy to rebuild what? I'm seriously asking, I'm not trying to be rude, I just totally don't understand what you think you built that will be destroyed. Your clan will still be intact. Your friends (unless they quit) will all still be there. Your allies will still be there. Your enemies will still be there. Your gear will still be there. Your alts (most of them, anyway) will still be there. What are you loosing? (CHs and castles... what else?)
I just don't understand those that are saying that the transfer kills the server. The server is just like a huge room where a few people meet. They're keeping us in the exact same room, with all the same decorations and items, etc. - they're just putting some new people in there with us. Same room, same old people, some new people.
With the amount of area available in L2, I highly doubt that you're going to have to pvp daily for a spot to xp. Neutrals managed to stay neutral before the transfers, I'm sure you'll manage to stay neutral after the merger. For that matter, most of the pvp-oriented people already transfered off, so the majority of the people being merged are just like you and won't want to pvp anymore than you do. And those that are pvp-oriented will be competing for Hellbound and IOP, not Martyrs or Devo's (no offense, I know many neutrals are higher level than that, I'm just saying the pvp-clans' efforts will be focused other places than just where the neutrals are PVEing today...)
And as far as Lionna being the unofficial RP server - it was never officially recognized as an RP server, so you're not really loosing anything there. I'm positive that the merged Kain/Lionna server will still be the "unofficial RP" server to those of you who RP. And maybe you'll find some new players that like RP.
(And forgive my lack of reply for the next 24 hours, since I work - a lot.)
Someone said it earlier, but those who hate a subject are gunna post alot more than those who are happy or impartial about something.
I love the way my server is anyway, but I also love the idea of server merge. Sure, there are some things I dont like, mainly with clan halls.. and a few other small things.
But these are just logical issues that need be resolved... I agree perhaps something good should be done for those with existing halls. But dman, some people are gunna miss out anyway and get burned - unless the number of A halls > number of active clans with halls on both servers. How many dead clans holding on a hall..? Would be nice to know if theres going to be enough.
Despite the pain/work-thru problems, server merge sounds fun, it has my support :D Just please handle it very carefully ncsoft  The less you take away from the clans/people who worked hard for stuff the better.
Dont rush em, let em think options through carefully ;) Im sure they'll be an annoucement (in a fresh thread I hope) with updates on how ch / names / whathaveya will be handled.
True but more or less I would have hoped this seemingly crucial knowldge was planned ahead of time rather than discussed right before it all goes down ><.
lol guys admit it u love linege 2 .... with its faults or not
lert me just ask one question... how much time u spend grinding/pvp? how much time u spend on ch
i know buff is cool and such .. but how many of you got your own pp and keep it at track or hang on to her/him like is last resort?
or how many of you like me always buy brez? or have a bishop/EE/SE with all time or are bestfriend forever with a EE/SE/Bishop?
how much u actially use a ch ??
If u are in a powerful clan u will have no problem aquiring a clan hall after server merge (thru initial bidding or thru later trades) so why so much whining about this?
The servers will become 2 sided after a while and probably gonna be more fun pvp and oly stuff.
And about char names?Who gives a flying -_-?
I have to love all the people moaning and complaining about the merges...
"They kill our spirit!" "They destroy the identity of our server"!
Jesus Christ... What "identity"? Do they ban people? Do they scatter all of our ally mates all over the rest of the servers?
Lack of grind locations? I mean... lol? Did you ever try to put some EFFORT into doing something? You sound so god **** spoiled it hurts. "Oh my god! There's going to be 3x less people playing on my serwer then on Teon even after merges, we won't find ANY place to exp!" Well bu-huhu. Then I must be some kind of a super-haxxor who plays 3h daily at best and still manages to get his s***t done.
Loosing a CH? So friggin what???? We've lost a CH too. We've lost a whole clan earlier. We lost many players quitting fo other games. Did we/I start to cry and emo-raged? NO. What was left from my clan reformed, started again and work toghether. And we did this time and time again each time we were struck down by circumstances we had no or very little control over. Let me give you an advise: There IS a life even without a CH and with a forth of a previous numbers. Now get it into your heads. But you need to have a friggin backbone and at least SOME character.
Whining is so **** easier, isn't it?

My Clan Hall nooooooooooo...........why oh why must I always be reminded of this tragedy oh woe is me who cares about something nooooooooooooooo.....
In all seriousness I really would rather keep my clan hall as many people in clan do not have a buffer in toe and the buffs help them out a great deal when the support classes are not available whenever. And that 50% rez is a super bonus to have all the time.
if you want your friends to stay friends through the merger, add them to your MSN acc....and up load their new name/old name to your friend list once the merger is over. There problem solved.
Those of you that have nothing better to do then complain, complain, complain...and threaten to cancel your acc. DO US ALL A FAVOR, go to www.plaync.com (http://www.plaync.com), and hit the cancel button, and stop [censored] to us about it.
We don't need to see the same ramblings in nearly back, to back post saying the same thing, we got you the first few pages (evagarden!!).
U all fail a few simple things. "passion rules reason,"
"The most important rule there is, the Wizard's Sixth Rule: the only sovereign you can allow to rule you is reason,"
"The Second Rule is that the greatest harm can result from the best intentions."
While NCsoft can't apprise everyone, what they have given is **** good compensation. Now while the max bid on halls is deffently a problem, there is no reason once so ever that there has to be 17 pages all discussing "clan halls."
I've loged in every day to see 8 US servers always "light" status, and 3 Euro servers always full, or at the very lest "normal." How anyone can sit here and say "my server is fine, don't change it." when that server hasn't been over "light" status in over 2 years.
Bartz has one of the highest populations for a NA server, and I've seen our market dieing badly in the last 2-4 weeks. I don't see how any one can make any money on these other servers, much less be able to ever craft a single item. There has got to be a huge scarcity in your markets for items, and if you do have it, its madly over priced; which in turns forces people to ebay from farmers cause they can't make any money on a dead server.
lol guys admit it u love linege 2 .... with its faults or not
lert me just ask one question... how much time u spend grinding/pvp?
Most of my alliance spends 3/4 of their time PVPing
how much time u spend on ch
i know buff is cool and such .. but how many of you got your own pp and keep it at track or hang on to her/him like is last resort?
Most of my ally has this but in a rush a LOT of us take CH buffs as all but a handful are top buffs anyways
or how many of you like me always buy brez?
Very rarely, whats the point in a wartag death
or have a bishop/EE/SE with all time or are bestfriend forever with a EE/SE/Bishop?
We don't need to see the same ramblings in nearly back, to back post saying the same thing, we got you the first few pages (evagarden!!).
Freedom of Speech, good ol' Freedom of Speech ;). Keep in mind these post will assumedly go largely unnoticed thus just being a placebo for our belief in that their plans might be changed to appease the unhappy public. If someone else chooses to repeat something over and over like myself good on them for maybe it will be noticed :).
I'm from Devianne and i'm just sad that merge won't happen for us.I can't believe so many complain when the biggest problem recently is lack of real players.
If it was in my hands the clan hall issue, which for me is the only real problem to be solved,i would handle it this way.
The 2 clans that own the same clan hall in merging servers should compete either in a special PvP event,or some treasure hunt event for let's say 2 days. The winner gets the clan hall, the looser gets what was paid to get the clan hall.Simple and fair.
this is hillarious .... server transfers start, 100101034309284 people whine on the forums about why ncsoft doesnt just merge servers [censored] [censored] [censored]
They announce server mergers 342304739 people whine on the forums about why they are merging servers and how their server personality will be destroyed
bleh ...
for the people whining about clan halls, nobody said they would go back 3 years in server logs and find out exactly how much you paid for your ch and reimburse you. They said you will be paid the "winning bid amount" which to me means you ll just get 2b, enough to buy a new ch on the merged server.
Oh and server merges are good news short term for the dead servers, bad news longer term for the game. Server mergers are always a cost cutting move, a company saying listen we dont have the subscribers to support x servers, might as well merge those into x/2 servers and save money. Means dont expect any big push for new subscribers from NCsoft NA.
point being in deleting Friendslists?
and why you never ask the community if they want this o.o
and why merge erica+sieg who have together population of kain/lionna alone mostly
Over the next few weeks, we will be here to answer your questions and address your concerns. We would like to stress that we are not combining servers because of a lack of players or because Lineage II is on the decline. That is not the case; the Lineage II community is as strong as ever, and our players remain dedicated, enthusiastic, and active participants. Our goal is to balance the population for the health of the servers, and in the spirit of Lineage II, to ensure the best possible competitive environment for all and, in turn, promote server growth.
Exactly! Since the opening of Teon the Gustin population has been on decline. Many have left for good, but many started over on Teon, then Franz and latest on Luna. (I myself did try Teon when it was launched, but my clan in Gustin got me back to Gustin. Also the skim hope of server transfers soon(tm) after Teon was lauched influenced my desicion.)
But as the transfers did not happen I stayed on Gustin and enjoyed my life there.
While I enjoy my simple and lonely life on Gustin, I still dream of the days that were, when you'd easily find a group to party with, or a clan which would take casual players in.
Server 6 (Gustin) + Server 8 (Hindemith) = New Server C
Oh the irony!
Characters
Characters will transfer over with all of their individual belongings, including all items and Adena in their private warehouse, inventory, and equipment slots. Individual character status and info, such as quest info and karma, will also transfer over intact with the exceptions of hero status and Olympiad points, which will be reset.
The least you could do.
Dormant Character Deletion
<ul type="square"> In order to minimize duplicate character names, all characters that are level 10 or lower and have not logged in for more than one year will be deleted.
To prevent the character deletion, that character simply needs to be logged in once prior to the server merge.
Why not under 20? Or even more. Could free up many good names which were created in OB but never used after that.
Maybe all characters would get wiped which have not been accessed since C1?
Character Slots
<ul type="square"> If you have more than a total of seven characters between two servers that are being merged, the seven characters that have the most EXP will be kept&#8212;the rest will be deleted.
If you have more than a total of seven characters between two servers that are being merged, and their EXP is the same, the older character(s) will be deleted.
So if I have 7 chars on both servers, only the 7 characters which have the most EXP will be retained.
What if I have stuff in the other server which I'd like to keep, but all characters have less EXP than the characters on the other server?
Do I really have to level one toon on the other server, and transfer all the stuff to that char just to preserve the stuff?
(I've done some of the events on multiple servers and gathered a few million in cash. Now that cash will vanish as I don't have high enough character on Hinde.) (Oh and a few mil is much for me. Casual carebear, remember.)
Miscellaneous
<ul type="square"> Cursed weapons, Seven Signs Quest, and the in-game community board will be reset.
Do our memos get deleted too?
What if the warehouse is already full, without AA (or any other item which will be placed in wh) in it?
@miccoz
consolidate your characters/stuff
if you got more than 7 chars total in Gustin/Hinde delete the excess and transfer stuff/money to the remaining ones. Like for example say you have 7 chars on Gustin and 3 on hinde, transfer all items and adena on 1 char on hinde and delete the other 2 and empty out and delete one char on gustin.
That way you choose what you keep or what chars you keep.
As to warehouse, presumably it will just go+1 slot ... say you have 100/100 slots, they will add AA and you will go 101/100 slots ... same thing that happens with events or with chrono souvenir items in previous chronicles
Point in deleting friendlist = name conflict I'd guess.
I'm not scraed of the merge, there are good and bad points but if NCSoft doesn't want another merge in 6 monts, they had better start advertising their game. Or maybe it's just part of their plan in order to 'move' people to Aion when it comes out ...
To the Kain people, I'll say: don't underestimate the Lionna carebears or you might be surprised (I agree, we don't rock but we bite :) ).
Question to NCSoft: shall you start efficiently fighting against bots? Otherwise you'll just get more people ****** of. The low population made it uninteresting for adena companies. Hope you'll really fight against bots as soon as the merge is done.
They will have a problem though when you have a friend named Bob and on the new server the person that gets to keep the nickname bob is from a totally different server that has never met you :P
Though I suspect the reason they are deleting friendlists is more practical, ie friend list = stored proc on the db, and with mergers they will be building a new db where that stored proc will no longer work
P.S. Its a **** mmorgp btw, more ppl more fun ALWAYS...
pps: Stop treathing to quit, no1 cares, and it makes you look silly
i agree and see the only ppl complaining and threatening to leave are the nonfactor lvl 20-70s/non noble/non main server war ppl.
you should welcome and embrace the move to give you MORE PVP. not shun it away as a bad omen.
about time ncsoft, but you do seem to have purposefully mixed the servers to give a balance of the old rp and real pvp otherwise u have another merged dead server of no excitement, so good thinking there !
but best of luck to all those clans, u shud have a rly good time :)
pps, for the first time in a long open beta time, we have a great community manager!
finally all the wasted CHs from dead clans will be free!!!
finally a chance! (a small)
i dunno if i like he idea of mergin - i was just enjoying the peacful time on lionna after all the
1010101010101 PVP-PK-LAWL-GF-EbayMore-ppl left off to other servers ...
since we cant do anything anyway lets see what happens
definitly positiv will be the market-refresh
dead markets are a pain :)
They will have a problem though when you have a friend named Bob and on the new server the person that gets to keep the nickname bob is from a totally different server that has never met you :P
Though I suspect the reason they are deleting friendlists is more practical, ie friend list = stored proc on the db, and with mergers they will be building a new db where that stored proc will no longer work
Yes, the friendlist probably just is a list of "player ID#" (which is why the namechanges right now are no problem, the ID# does not change), and when they merge two servers, they will just build a completely new player database by merging the two existing databases - so the ID# from the friendlist would no longer match up with the correct players. And they probably can't be bothered to write some procedure to "fix" the friendlist by comparing the old player database with the new one and changing the ID# in the friendlist, especially not when quite a lot of players will have to change their names...
Lionna are gonna get raptured lolololooololoololoo Kain > u
Not even worried
Any way my names are intact I have all the same names on Kain at level 1 so that's not a problem the problem is going to be Clan halls. I only see 3 good things of all this.
1. I will save the game for a little longer
2. Clan halls own by banned Clan leaders will be no more.
Well, i hoped they would merge 3 servers to 1, because <1000 (Gustin) + <1500 (Hindemith) ppl incl. 2 boxes, bots and farmers makes maybe 800-1000 real players, but thats better than nothing.
I hope to meet (at least for me) new ppl on the new server.
To quit the game or transfer to another server will always be a choice, if u dont like merge servers.
Eh, someone brought up parties. I really don't think this is gonna fix that. Too many people have their buffpets with them, too many won't share their xp. THAT is what happened to parties, not server population. I have a bishop that has been mostly idle for well over a year. I don't see this changing that.

Join our clan then. We need a bishop... mostly have SE ;)
Crawlerin is right...and this plays into the Lore of Lineage 2...the lore is ripe with chaos, panic, disorder, fights, politics.
Nothing like a big upheaval to add some excitement and remove the complacency I hear so many people complain about.
@miccoz

So effectively I'd have to relevel that one char. Since the one on Gustin is going to be atleast 40.
For me it's not so big deal after all, but for someone else it might.
As to warehouse, presumably it will just go+1 slot ... say you have 100/100 slots, they will add AA and you will go 101/100 slots ... same thing that happens with events or with chrono souvenir items in previous chronicles
Do you admit you didn't know the population on your servers till server transfer?
Did you have the perspective of what consequences server transfer will have?
All our efforts to gain something in this game as a clan will be deleted.
I demand the clan hall transfer to the merged server by any technical mean.
I pay you to maintain your servers and to give any solution that will keep me enjoy the results of my effort.
You claim that you can transfer everything and even if there will be some conflicts you will arrange them.
Do the same with the clan halls use an npc to give us the clan hall's benefits for example, don't expect me to suggest you such things at least assign this issue to a tech team before spreading out this kind of rumors.
Why i have to run the whole procedure once again? Do you think that the bid to reclaim a Clan Hall is an event that will give us fun?
I can notice of course that you don't think this server-merge as important yet. If so then you should post on "Important" section of the official message board and not on the general discussion one.

Actually, since these mergers will tend to create more PvP/PvE scenarios - clans trying to prove their dominance, castles have to be retaken...Healers should get a good boost of action. Buff pets don't work as well in those quick thinking situations not to mention trying to 2/3 box during a seige is brutal...brush off your Bishop's cobwebs and get 'em ready!
This is just brilliant. Everyone gets moved/merged to a server against their will. Active players aswell as the **** bots. So now we'll have 2 servers combined bots in 1 server instead... brilliant... god ****it i think i'm gonna go look for a new game
For all you that see this as the end of L2:
Try seeing it as a new START! ;) (why always looking at the bad points if the good points make the fun?)
I'm all for it, new ppl to meet, more ppl = more pve/pvp = healthier market = a healthier mmo server.
Those who say they can't live without a clanhall, means you're spoiled with the clanhall profits (understandable) but with more and new ppl things will change, in overall more ppl on a few servers = better for a mmo, then a small amount of ppl on alot of servers.
It's the ppl that make a mmo worth playing, the less ppl the worse a mmo plays, a mmo needs alot of ppl, think about it.., in overall it's a good choice.
Hi everybody, I am kind of new to the forums here, though not too new to Hinde. :D Just wanted to add a few lines to the heated discussion (though also wish NC would peruse the thread all the way to this point...)
Regarding the issue of CH's... that happens to bring a lot of thought, as to what is going to happen in CT2, mainly due to rumours of a somewhat larger map. Bigger map means bigger areas unoccupied by towns -> new towns -> new CHs (official confirmation needed here)... If that is the case, things should probably get relatively simple to solve, if not, there is another issue then.
AFAIK about Hinde, 2kkk (max bet) is not a large sum of money, and quite a few non-top clans would probably have it ready, let alone those of the Big Two factions we happen to have...
And with that it would probably all come down to who is first to bid, since I hardly imagine a clan wanting to have a Giran CH, let alone Gludio or Dion, etc... The best halls will probably get taken in minutes, and the competition will not be as much between who "deserves' them (read: has more members, is more active, with bigger resources at clans disposal), but rather the one who logs in first. So, essentially, a clan that has never killed Lilith has virtually THE SAME CHANCE to get Rune, Aden or Goddard CH as the one that does TOI bosses and sieges castles every once in a while. Not like I think it's unfair for a small low-level or non-pvp clan to own a good CH, but the game is about competing for everything, and this here will be a simple internet connection/machine speed fight for the first few seconds, before every more or less reasonable CH will have max bids on, essentially giving things to the glorious Random, rather than leaving at least some competition in the hands of the players.
- Just thoughts, anyway
///Ninja edit///
What if the GM's would make some sort of an event, where the clans currently owning the same CHs would compete between them to get some items/RBs/whatever, much like the Festival of Darkness, and the winning one retains CH, while losing one gets the full CH price reimbursement.
There should also be a certain threshold, meaning if both clans can't get the required score, the CH is sold off Open, giving a chance for anyone not owning one yet (and those that lost competitions), or, much like the previous one, make it competition-based, + the money to pay if won. Thus any clan that wants a CH will have to do some more than just simply accumulate a hilarious sum of 2kkk (even a Frintezza necklace costs more), while the ones owning CH's now will be given privilege, and the "unattended" CH's will be released to the public...
less servers to spent time monitoring aka more "qualilty" time for the gm's to work at getting rid of botters will be part of the outcome here so don't be so quick to cry about farmers/botters.. let's see how many of those are going to be around for long on the new servers before QQing
anyways most people on Kain are happy with this merger aka I've yet to hear something negative about it from any I know there, all the clans in the DarkSide alliance are hoping for some competition and even our enemies see this as a good move from NC Soft.
Anyways back to the real question here: what level of trust with the natives has Lionna ?
Gratz NCSoft you made me reactivate my account after nearly a year of being away. I'll check out this new server, other than losing our clan hall it sounds kind of exciting. I left due to low population, maybe this will give me a reason to stick around.
As if... thats basically just wishful thinking, if they really wanted to bots would have been a close to non-factor from the start as it can be.
As far as the real players merge i'm not too concerned in either direction. Though a merge is a step backwards, not forward, its sometimes needed to step backwards and get a proper view over the situation. Nothing ever goes the positive way when NC makes changes like this and there's absolutely no historical proof/event what so ever as to why i should stay positive on it and not negative.
Infact everything that could have possibly helped bots get a stronger foothold have done just that and there's no reason why it wont happen thistime, its actually even more painfully obvious.
I'll remain negative on this particular aspect of the transfer until proven wrong which in this case is highly highly unlikely. If i'm against all odds proven wrong though it will be a happy surprise, one of the positive sides of being realistic bordering to negative, lol.
In the meantime i'll be looking for new games and if crap hits the fan when the merger happens i'll hopefully know where i'll go
I am looking forward to the joining of Erica and Sieghardt. :)
I have no clue about Sieg's politics or uuber clans ect. but it will be good to see more people, cept maybe if they kill meh. lol
I am kind of annoyed that they are in effect screwing the folks who may have payed for a server transfer from or to one or both of the servers being merged.
If I had transfered from Sieg to Erica (lol) I would be pretty **** angry.
The clan hall issue is pretty serious, I hope they will take a good look at all of the "alt" clans holding so many of the clan halls. :(
Maybe a bit of wisdom will come into play and they will not allow said clans to bid on clan halls, that would certainly benefit the "real" clans. :)
But alas, it is just a dream.......
The name conflict issue may be a real issue for many of us.
I know that I have several name conflicts that will need to be resolved, in some yet to be determined fashion.
As soon as I read about this merging I immediately logged into my accounts and started making toons on Sieghardt with my Erica toons names.
As with everything L2, we are at the mercy of the powers that be.
Hoping for the best, but expecting nothing more than the usual.
Holy crap, I've never seen so many drama llamas in one thread before.
For *months*, everyone has been talking about how a server merge is going to happen, how it NEEDS to happen because the populations are too dead and every N.A. server is at Low capacity 24/7.
And now that NCSoft has interpreted this constant bellyaching as "public opinion" and actually done something about it, everyone's gone all up in arms and started crying "OMG end of L2! I'm gonna cancel! NCSoft is the debbil, and they hate us all!!!!"
Seriously.
If any one of the complainers in this thread has never had to deal with adversity or unexpected change in your lives, then I greatly envy you, and would like to join you in you plastic bubble, where the world is safe and warm.
Change happens.
Concessions have to be made.
People adapt, and it's up to the players to make the best of this, not to whine and gripe like petulant children who aren't getting everything exactly their way.
Tough. Quit crying and start planning.
It's not like nobody expected this.
Anyways back to the real question here: what level of trust with the natives has Lionna ?
NONE! Death to all who hail from Kain!!! :p :D
Trust just has to work itself out both ways. Perhaps as we near the merge date a thread will start indicating the general alliance of clans - Good, Evil, Neautral. I heard in some shouts last night that some folks will create toons on Kain to start scoping this info out and making contacts. The politics are already working.
So how do you exactly define an inactive clan? By the last logged time on that clan's members? Or, perhaps, by some other criteria? It could be good if some clans were gone long ago and the money left in CH ( :D :D :D), but I am sure we both know very well such things rarely happen ;).
If the CH seems unused, and is paid for, most likely it's on some alt clan that belongs to quite an active player (perhaps, he's playing these toons afk style, who knows, but how do you prove it?)
If the CL is banned, and the clan didn't bother to write a petition to get a CL change in years, that would be the only situation that approach could solve. Alas, on Hinde things like that don't usually happen (there was a similar issue once involving a certain top clan, but it's still there with a different CL, although transfers killed it way more than CLs ban did, imo).
I am one of the people who said "Servers will never merge' so let me put on the record that I Was Wrong. That actually happens to me (and to you) rather often.
I still wish that servers were not merging, but that doesn't matter. No point in fussing now, its going to happen, so the reasonable point of view is to face forward and figure out what the results will be. No harm in being positive.
Lineage2 is a great game and I will continue to enjoy it on my merged server. I would be pretty immature if I quit playing a game I enjoy so much just because I didn't get my own way on one issue. After all, I opposed mergers because I thought they would be bad for the game. It may well turn out that I Was Wrong about that, too. It could turn out to be very good for the game...new friends, new opportunities, new political mechinations, changed economies, and lots of other ways to enjoy.
It is kind of another life lesson from L2: when you get handed a lemon, make lemonaide.
Nothing immature about quiting a Game you have been playing for over 4 years. I can just as easily be time 2 move on.
One of the Big things I enjoy about my clan is that it has a Clan Hall. I could of left my clan a Long time ago and join the many clans that want me but it's noting like having your own so I stayed. With out a Clan hall a clan is nothing more but a Matts storage dump and best to Join a clan that has one.
Sugar coat it all you want one of the 2 Questions that most people ask when joining any clan is "do you have a Clan hall?"
unless they new then they ask "what is a clan hall?" :p
Yeah, owning a Clan Hall is essential in this game, it does make it easier to lvl/siege/pvp you name it.
You would think that so many of the empty buildings in all the towns could house many more *new* clan halls, but I guess that will not be in the works either :(
Guess I'll see how the chaos shakes out and then check out Warhammer ;)
Heh, true. Most folk do look for a clan with a CH. Some get even more discriminating, like in "What? Schuttgart? Go to hell, find some n00bz" :D
But it is quite possible to survive w/o one, and a clan is way more than just some crappy buff service. It's about the people, really, and, if,for some reason, CH's the best you get from your clan, then why are you still there? And why is that wild bunch of non-related people called a clan, anyway?
Now, to be fair, psychologically, it's much worse for a clan that already owns a hall to lose one, especially if it is done like "a blessing out of the skies". Much less evil, (and, perhaps, a good reason for another lively clan war) is to make one clan beat another for a CH in some competition, so that for once losing would mean something, while winning would be more than just a word, but the right to retain what was theirs before, wouldn't it? This way the losing side has only itself (and the opponent) to blame, and not NCSoft, for having no more CH on the new server?
As for more people, yes, it would be way more fun, as lousy 80 ppl on an entire siege ground is a zerg for Hinde nowadays... whle a 1 const party clan is considered a real PvP clan.
Anyways back to the real question here: what level of trust with the natives has Lionna ?
NONE! Death to all who hail from Kain!!! :p :D
I think he meant the level of trust with the natives of Hellbound.
Y'know, for the Hellbound Isle quests.
I could be wrong, but that's how I read it.
I actually read it that way, too...but since I didn't know it seemed a good way to throw in a poke to the soon to be brothers and sisters of Kain. :)
haha true enough :) have your spies contact me at high noon and whisper the spanish grain has survived the storm and I will say to thou but the dutch will remain as ever unbound so show me the money $_$
all jokes aside am more then willing to answer some questions if not to bussy ingame ;)
Much less evil, (and, perhaps, a good reason for another lively clan war) is to make one clan beat another for a CH in some competition, so that for once losing would mean something, while winning would be more than just a word, but the right to retain what was theirs before, wouldn't it? Imagine instead of clan halls, they decided to delete the armor that you worked your [censored] off to have, and in exchange would give you 10 thousand adena. Or better yet, you could fight for it and if you lost the fight, you get nothing for all of the efforts you put forth to get it in the first place...smooth move, NCSoft

Ok it's not the best but dam it I don't want loose my clan hall so right now till I get a new one it's the Best!
And I'm the leader of the clan why would I want give up a cool clan that I build up to lvl 6 almost lvl 7 with 6 clan Skills and a clan hall? and a WEB site I just got for the clan 2 weeks ago
Maybe not to you if you botted you char or used your CC to get it at lvl 80 with top equipment, but some of us have used ALOT of time to build up a reputation.
They should cancel the max bid limit on clan halls or make it 20-30 bil adena.(2 bil max bid is not auction is lotery)
Want a clan hall?Show up with the money !

Well said Rum, new friends, new opportunities, new political mechinations, changed economies, and lots of other ways to enjoy.
lol ashley... howmany more posts are you going to make to express you are not happy with the news?
Don't take this as a personal assualt, but I'm pretty sure your point has been made... :p
Don't get me wrong, but 2.5bil adena is not much for like no1 in L2 after all this time.
And the cap just kills the "auction " idea makeing it like a lotery to log in fast and bid......
I really only have an issue with CHs - It will kill the game for a lot of people if not handled fairly.
Above is the best idea I have come across so far on this issue and would probably be the most fair IMO
I love the ideal of merger... Just dont reimburse me for something i waited 5 days to win. To get taken back. if I wanted that i would of just went after siegable clan halls.
Me being in the MIL all my friends that helped get my hall are Over seas unable to help or raise additonal funds needed . JUST handfull of us remaining holding the fort down till they return.
Theres know way i can comepete with the Tards that sit on the halls just to resale for profit. OR JUST HOLD THEM so no one else can use it... MY hall is in GIRAN probaly the only active hall user left that will sale item just about at cost, dont take it...
Take the patriots across from me hasnt logged in sense it was turned over to the alt clan while they moved to Bartz.
RETHINK HALL DISTRIBUTION... i paid my rent. never late, logged on lastnight to merging server clan hall to see if i can talk to the that owner never saw anyone in 6 hrs.
Devianne is dead bro. You dont see people in the starter villages, you dont see mid levels, the sieges are composed of really few people... you know.. a siege is something for 200, 300+ people, not for 1 party or 2 of OG and 1 or 2 of EMO attacking.
Smaller clans in devianne cannot recruit cause there are no players for it. There is no new people coming, only leaving for other servers, its simple, see that P*, P00t and other clans left to other servers, those were the clans that used to war.
My clan, Armada, was in wars against some big clans to cause some "server action" but as the pespective of growing doesnt exist in devianne... we just stopped.
devianne cannot support massives it it isnt against Nofear x Emo. Its not massive, 30 people fighting lol.

after almost 3 years in L2 I managed to reach 650m adena to buy my IC set...I have never had and may not see that kind of adena again....

I was not talking about individuals i was talking about clans.......
I have a simple suggestion for chs. Each clan hall has one owner on say Erica and one on Sieghard. Arrange a war for a few days between the two clans with at least one official battle. Also/or arrange some colliseum party duels. The one with most kills gets the ch.
So if a dead clan owns a ch they will not show up in battles, thus they will loose. May the best clan win their clan hall.
For the chs that no clans come forward in battle, they go in auction.
As an alternative a clan who used to own a clan hall in a certain city (say Aden) has the right to challenge other ch owning chs to battle for any of the chs in that same city, so that they get a second/third chance and so that in the end the strongest and not the luckiest clans will keep a ch in every city.
