My brother in Florida [Gustin server] wasn't able to log in today until he bought $35 worth of game protectionn software. He used his usual log in page; has he been hacked in some way?

There was an issue with gameguard and it brought up that gameguard page which, if I remember correctly, had a "download" section.

I think you need to contact the company as well as NC Soft. Work with their support to get his money returned.
